Blackmoor Nymph (Emote) - Splinterlands Fan Art [ENG/ESP]

Hello friends, Alien Art and Splinterlands community! I hope you're all having a lovely day. This will be my entry for Splinterlands Art Contest Week 366, and this time I’ll be doing something different: an emote of one of the most enigmatic and beloved characters. Our protagonist this week is none other than the powerful Blackmoor Nymph. I hope you enjoy the fan art and the entire creative process I’ll be sharing with you. As always, we’ll also talk a bit about the lore behind this fascinating creature.

¡Hola amigos, comunidad de Alien Art y Splinterlands! Espero que estén teniendo un muy lindo día. Esta será mi entrada para el Splinterlands Art Contest Week 366, donde estaré haciendo algo distinto: un emote de uno de los personajes más enigmáticos y gustados. Nuestra protagonista esta semana no será otra que la poderosa Blackmoor Nymph. Espero que les guste el fan art y todo el proceso detrás que compartiré con ustedes. También estaremos hablando, como siempre, un poco del lore de esta criatura fascinante.

Blackmoor Nymph is a very rare Earth-type creature that dwells in the ancient, shadowy forests of the Blackmoor Basin. They are guardians and protectors of old-growth woods and of the natural laws and boundaries, maintaining balance between worlds. Thanks to their rarity and unique abilities, they play a key role in deep strategic gameplay.

Blackmoor Nymph es una criatura muy rara del tipo Tierra que habita en muchos y antiguos bosques oscuros de la Cuenca de Blackmoor. Son una especie de guardianas y protectoras de los bosques antiguos y de las leyes y límites naturales, manteniendo el equilibrio entre los mundos. Con su rareza y habilidades únicas, juega un papel clave en profundas estrategias de juego.

Splintercards

I think this is the second time I’ve drawn Blackmoor Nymph, but she’s a character whose design I really love—from her skin tone to the details like her large earrings and the golden accents on her face that contrast beautifully with her green hair. Today I want to do something different, so we’ll be making an emote. If you’re not familiar with the term, an emote is a small icon or drawing that represents an expression or emotion, used to quickly convey a feeling or idea. The emotion I’ll be representing is LOVE or infatuation, exaggerated—a very different expression from the fury shown in the original card. The style will be somewhere between chibi kawaii and maybe reminiscent of a tiny Funko Pop. It’s a style I really enjoy and have been drawing in a lot lately. Let’s begin with a quick sketch!

Creo que esta es la segunda vez que dibujo a Blackmoor Nymph, sin embargo es un personaje que me gusta mucho su diseño, desde el color de su piel hasta los detalles como sus grandes aros en las orejas y los detalles dorados en la cara que contrastan mucho con su pelo verde. Hoy quiero hacer algo distinto, así que haremos un emote. Si no sabes lo que es un emote, un emote es representar en un ícono o dibujo pequeño una expresión o emoción para transmitir o comunicar un sentimiento o idea de forma rápida. La emoción que estaré representando es AMOR o enamoramiento, exagerado—una expresión muy distinta a la de furia que tiene la carta original. El estilo será entre chibi kawaii o quizás recordando un pequeño Funko, es un estilo que me gusta mucho y en el que he estado dibujando últimamente. ¡Comenzamos entonces con un rápido boceto!

Después de comenzar con formas sencillas—casi todos los chibis se construyen con solo diez óvalos como base—me enfoqué en exagerar los ojos y la cabeza, que suelen ser del mismo tamaño que el cuerpo. Como la emoción será amor, los ojos serán dos grandes corazones, y el emote estará encerrado en un corazón, rodeado de muchos más, ¡jajaja, muchísimos corazones porque nuestra Blackmoor Nymph está muy, muy enamorada! Todo esto lo llevé a cabo en el line art usando un pincel fino. Estaré usando Photoshop para todo mi proceso de dibujo.

After starting with simple shapes—most chibis are built using just ten ovals as a base—I focused on exaggerating the eyes and head, which are often the same size as the body. Since the emotion is love, the eyes will be two big hearts, and the emote will be enclosed in a heart, surrounded by many more—haha, tons of hearts because our Blackmoor Nymph is very, very in love! I completed all of this in the line art using a fine brush. I’ll be using Photoshop for my entire drawing process.

Así quedó mi line art, me gustó mucho. Ahora lo siguiente que hago es colorear todo el interior de las líneas con un color sólido; estaré usando el mismo tono que utilizaré para pintar la piel del personaje.

The line art is done, and I really liked how it turned out. Next, I’ll fill the inside of the lines with a solid color—using the same tone I’ll be applying to the character’s skin.

Así quedó con los colores base. Lo siguiente será simplemente colocar una nueva capa de fusión en modo multiplicar para crear sombras en las zonas más oscuras. Pero como siempre digo: una animación vale más que dos mil palabras, así que les voy a compartir una animación en formato GIF de todo el proceso. ¡Espero que les guste!

The base colors are done. Next, I’ll simply add a new blending layer in multiply mode to create shadows in the darker areas. But as I always say: an animation is worth more than two thousand words, so I’ll be sharing a GIF animation of the entire process. I hope you enjoy it!

Como ven, al final hice un pequeño fondo con un degradado y un pincel de mancha para presentárselo a ustedes. Además, agregué un poco de efecto sticker alrededor del personaje y una textura de ruido para unificar pequeños detalles. Permítanme compartirles nuevamente el resultado final de todo el proceso.

As you can see, I added a soft gradient background and used a smudge brush to present it to you. I also added a sticker-like effect around the character and a bit of noise texture to unify small details. Let me share with you once again the final result of the entire process.
