BTC Mining - Betting on BTC/ETH and RIOT?

Using Laptops and older machines.

I have a laptop with a 2070 and a few other GPUs like the 1070 and the 1070Ti. Mining can still make me $.50 a day!

Is it worth it? I would NOT buy equipment to get into MINING BTC. But if you have a high-end gaming PC for other purposes, it is just a byproduct of owning a PC. My kids have gaming desktop PC, so it makes sense to MINE on those PC. Since September 2022, when ETH moved to PoS from PoW, this has been true. Mining was 3x or 4x more profitable when ETHER still used Proof-of-Work (Before Sept 2022).

How am I playing BTC moves today?

I can get involved in crypto projects and own the tokens/assets. Currently, my focus is on #Splinterlands and #Hive (via Blogging/posting).

I also play a Trading Card Game (TCG) called Splitnerlands, where you can collect NFT (Cards) and other in-game currencies/tokens.

Using my Stock Market Brokerage Account.

The last way I do this is by using my ETRADE account. Sometimes is just easier to use existing FIAT systems/software to support my views. Why? Most of us are paid in FIAT currencies. We can move money from our paychecks into INVESTMENT using FIAT products like a brokerage account.

There are also TAX advantages if you use the correct type of account (ROTH IRA in the USA). So there are reasons why I won't just by BITCOIN or ETHER directly. If I can do this in a ROTH IRA, I prefer to keep it that way.

I use Greyscale Unit Trust and RIOT blockchain for this purpose.
