Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - How to use Moros Malik effectively

Hello all Splinters,

In this post , I shared a way to counter the Death Splinter in Frontier format by using Fire Splinter. It works well for me in several cases. However, I still feel it's not the most suitable way, especially when the ruleset doesn't allow to use the Fire Splinter. On another hand, Spellmonger with Thorns ability is a huge threat for Fire monsters, which are mainly Melee attackers with Sneak or Opportunity skill.

Recently, I discovered a new combination that has already helped me increase my win rate when facing Death Splinter in battle. I will share more details shortly.

This is also my entry for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

Firstly, if you haven't completed Prologue 2 - Book 1 in the Campaign yet, please complete it and you will get Moros Malik. He is the key in my new formation.

Now, let's take a look at his stats - a Death monster with 1 Ranged attack, 3 Health points, 1 Speed and Opportunity skill at level 1. This Opportunity is crucial in my formation because Moros Malik can target the low health monster like Spellmonger, but doesn't get any counter damage from Thorns skill of Spellmonger

Here is my recent battle with him.

1. The ruleset

49 mana - a high mana cap battle
No specific ruleset is applied in this battle
Water, Earth, Light, and Death Splinter can be used in this battle

Definitely, I will choose Death Splinter in this battle because I want to put Moros Malik on the battlefield

2. Team lineup

Summoner		Thalgrimore - he reduces all the opponent monsters' health points by 1
1st position		Nim Guard Captain - he is always the 1st selected as tanker for Death Splinter in Frontier format. He has *Void* skill, which is very helpful when against magic monsters.
2nd position		Spellmonger - I choose him to counter the damage to the opponent's melee monsters with *Opportunity* like Vengeful Monk
3rd position		Sorrow Harvester - she can also reduce 1 max health of all opponent monsters
4th position		Black Widow - I need to have various attack types on the battlefield and she is a good choice in this battle
5th position		Moros Malik
6th position		New Beluroc Aegis - he has *Taunt* ability that makes him become the 1st target in the battle; however, it will help to protect other monsters.

3. The battle

As expected, my opponent also selected Death Splinter in this battle. Both my and NYC990 used a similar formation, except NYC990 used Vengeful Monk and Great Bear Druid

In round 1, all NYC990 monsters targeted my New Beluroc Aegis and he was easily blown away.
In round 2, my strategy showed the advantages. Vengeful Monk was taken down after getting reflected damage from my Spellmonger, while my Moros Malik killed NYC990's Sorrow Harvester. After round 2, I still had 5 monsters on the field while NYC990 only had 2 monsters
The battle kept going for 2 more rounds and I sealed the win in round 4.

In my opinion, it's worth putting Moros Malik on the field, and remember to put him together with Spellmonger. If you haven't tried this combination yet, let's give it a try and put your comment below.
