Olivia of the Brook Chibi Art
It's been a while since I've last posted my drawing. Actually, it's been a while since I last touched Splinterlands due to the things I've been doing behind the scenes. I've just had a lot of new things in my life that it was hard to focus on everything at once.
For this week, I'll be putting my own spin on Olivia of the Brook, an epic unit from the Life Element. I got a spark of inspiration as I played her recently so I would be giving her the spotlight this time.
This post will also be shorter than usual because I want to focus on drawing instead of giving my insight on how I draw my chibi arts.
Drawing Process
Guide and Lineart
I really don't have time so I will be skipping a few parts including this one. Like I always say, I don't really do guides when drawing except for the colors. I added the guide step in order to easily follow my art in case someone wants to practice as sort of a dive to my process on how I draw.
I will still be doing the character lineart so here it is.
The only thing I changed is the headdress because I think this suits more, and the tip of the spear because the original would look messy in my opinion once I did the chibi version of it.
Color Base
For this one, I'll be skipping the explanation of some of the steps but you can see the full process in the timelapse below. For the color, I've done Olivia of the Brook and Cloudy, the Snow Leopard separately. I could've done them as a whole but this seems faster and more efficient right now.

Adding details
We'll next add the shadows, highlights and any of the needed details. The similar process was used as well, which is done separately.
Background
I got more time this day to do the background so to compensate, I'll be doing a little more. I want a forest background where Olivia and Cloudy will be hanging out right after a hunt.
Fire
At any resting site, a campfire is a must. Starting with the fire since I already have my own style for it. Then, we go add the firewood. Don't forget to add some opacity to the fire as a solid colored one with this style looks weird.

Random Rants
I've been extremely busy recently and the typhoon in the Philippines did not help in making my schedule any easier. I got a side gig helping a friend with their job and this comes as an on-call job. I cannot give the specifics but it requires time and a lot of sleepless nights which is the reason for my lack of time.
I had a few nights off so I decided to draw and get this done but I might skip some posts in the future as well due to how busy my schedule is becoming.
