My Personal Look on Tasoshi Drakamoto
There’s something oddly satisfying about watching a new unit quietly destroy your enemy’s entire plan. Some unit that des not have flashy damage or massive stats but with positioning and placement that makes the best use of it. That’s the feeling I got the first time I saw Tasoshi Drakamoto, the newest Conclave Arcana promo card that will be minted in Splinterlands.
It’s not often that a single card shifts the whole meta and how this may change the game in the future. Here I was checking out the post here realizing that this one will be really good in a lot of ways and my brain just started getting a lot of ideas which I would be discussing down below.
How will you use Tasoshi Drakamoto in your battles?
If ever I had a Tasoshi Drakamoto, I would use her more for her Inspire and Stun abilities. Her Inspire is a quiet but effective buff when paired with melee attackers especially since Fire element have a lot of good melee attackers like Chaos Golem and Molten Elemental.
I also had an interest with Stun and Tasoshi Drakamoto will be a good combination with Rebellion's Nephket. Both of them have Sneak and Stun and Nephket also has Knock Out to do double damage to any stunned units. The only issue is that you need Kayor Skarn to connect Tasoshi Drakamoto, which is a Drakoshan Bloodline with either Life or Water element for Nephket.
Which Rules Make The Most of Her Abilities?
Heavy Hitters:
All units gain the Knock Out ability.
Since Tasoshi Drakamoto has Stun as an ability, she naturally becomes a unit for Heavy Hitters rule where all units gain Knock Out. Any enemy she successfully stuns will take double damage from every follow-up attack by your other units which can quickly eliminate any targets. This makes her a valuable opener in this rule that a lot of players does not prioritize.
Born Again:
All units gain the Rebirth ability, allowing them to return to life with 1 Health once after dying.
Spite activates when Tasoshi Drakamoto dies dealing a final burst of damage to the enemy attacker but what's interesting is that in the Born Again rule, her new Rebirth ability allows her to come back to life with 1 Health which resets Spite meaning she can trigger it a second time when she dies again. This makes Tasoshi Drakamoto especially dangerous in battles where she’s guaranteed to deal damage whether she lives or dies.
Unprotected:
All armor is removed from all units, and no armor can be applied.
While the Unprotected rule doesn’t directly benefit Tasoshi Drakamoto since her magic attacks already bypass armor, it greatly enhances the effectiveness of her Inspire ability. Inspire boosts the melee damage of her allies and with armor removed across the board those boosted melee attacks land directly on health making them far more dangerous. This makes Tasoshi a powerful support unit in Unprotected rule battles even if her own attacks remain unchanged.
Why This Unit Might Be Good?
Tasoshi Drakamoto plays a flexible role depending on your team. She can be used as a backline attacker with Sneak or boost a fulle melee team with Inspire all while adding disruption through Stun and more with Spite. Just imagine a Lorkus and Tasoshi Drakamoto combo providing +2 melee attack to all of your units. That would be insane. Her presence in any team adds pressure to enemies whatever the position is of their most important unit.
She works best when the rest of your team is already doing something aggressive and she adds that final bit damage for that one final push to strengthen and finalize your builds.
Whether you're dealing with taunt-heavy backlines or simply need a unit that punishes careless placement Tasoshi Drakamoto can be added into most lineups without feeling like a forced pick. That kind of unit flexibility is rare especially for a promo Epic in the current Conclave Arcana set.
