Getting Started in the Snorfkingdom Community
Introduction
Greetings, Blockchain Adventurer, and welcome to the Snorfkingdom PeakD Community! The Snorfkingdom is a user-driven role-playing adventure story which combines blockchain technology and NFTs to provide a unique, fun experience for its community members. Anyone can participate in and help grow the Snorfkingdom story in big or small ways. Firstly anyone can do this by simply participating our community channels*, and/or secondly by contributing ideas and other content suggestions, and/or thirdly by just reading and enjoying Snorfkingdom content. Alongside user-driven participation, the team will facilitate bi-weekly updates to Official Lore and incorporate the best user ideas. In addition, the story and official lore will be created in “Chapters” linked to Snorfkingdom NFTs, with a goal of creating a publishable product at the end of the closing of an official Snorfkingdom “storyline.”

How to participate?
There is a wealth of creativity within the blockchain and NFT spaces, and as a result, the Snorfkingdom team encourages users to unleash their creativity when it comes to contributing to the story. Generally, for user contribution to be considered in the design of the official storyline, the user must submit a post in this Snorfkingdom PeakD community. The PeakD community* is the hub for user-created content, where anyone can write lore, create videos or art etc which helps influence the future of the story. Think of this as something similar to a "choose your own adventure" story, with the main differences being that the choices are open ended and anyone can add to the ideas, and there are no pre-defined outcomes. So, you may wonder, what counts as a user-contribution to the Snorfkingdom Story?

Suggestions of new characters or other story elements
Do you have some great ideas for a new setting, a new adventurer, or some other new idea which would make a great contribution to the Snorfkingdom storyline? If so, write up your idea(s) and share them via a PeakD post!
Snorfkingdom storyline commentary
Do you not have any new ideas, but you still want to review a specific event, or comment on a particular character? Feel free to contribute commentary content, as the Snorfkingdom team would love to hear about the community’s opinions on the story, the characters, and also the decisions they make.
User-created artwork
Not in the mood for sharing any written content? That’s okay! If you like creating art, please share your creativity by designing new characters, creating your own interpretations of existing ones, drawing new settings, cosplaying, or anything else related to the Snorfkingdom! As the Snorfkingdom team makes use of pixel-art styled artworks, these are much appreciated, but of course not the only form of artwork valued by the team and the community.
Becoming a Citizen (verified member) of the Snorfkingdom
After joining the Snorfkingdom Discord community, users are granted the “traveler” role. Travelers are more than welcome to participate in all Snorfkingdom community discussion and activities, but with no additional privileges. To gain the “citizen” role, users must publish a post in the Snorfkingdom PeakD community. This post must contain the following details to be considered valid for obtaining the “citizen” status in the community:
- A brief introduction about yourself (this can be about a fictional character such as your gamertag/hive username or your own proposed Snorfkingdom character, the real you, or a mixture of both, anything is welcome!). Don't forget to use the "Introduction" tag!
- Share one thing that you like about the Snorfkingdom Community
- Share one comment, question, or idea, which adds value to the Snorfkingdom story and community.

Can I find out more about this?
Is this a game like Terraria?
Hey Shaidon, thanks for your question! The Snorfkingdom is not a P2E game, but we are building a publishable story together with our community! Please check out the latest version of our whitepaper here for more details: https://snorfkingdom.com/whitepaper/
Hope to see you in the community!
Hello,
As you can already see, my Hive name is kira1995. I have discovered the crypto space some time ago through researching world events/politics, as well as how said events would affect markets. I have heard the name Bitcoin thrown around a few times way back when I used to hang out and play games like Habbo Hotel, where I have had experience building up an empire of value by trading and gambling, before later Habbo banning gambling entirely within the game, and later banned me without forgiveness (For "asking for personal details" oddly, which I never have, nor heard back from with the multiple tickets I've submitted). Who knows if there is value to those assets anymore with one of the biggest components, casino/game betting, now being illegal to them anyways.
Besides Habbo, I also had the hobbies of playing Yu-Gi-Oh, and Magic the Gathering, and loved deck brewing. Mainly jank decks in particular. I did typically have about two to three competitive tournament decks at my disposal though in case any big events came up, and was still successful with surprising people with my jank with groups that knew me and knew what decks I typically have for use in tournaments, such as my D.D. Dynamite deck with one of my favorite cards, later to have been banned, called Necroface.
Even derped around with decks in Yu-Gi-Oh that wouldn't really have to touch any of their creatures on the battlefield, besides changing their attack positions and forcing them to attack me. Sometimes even the most basic combos end up trumping modern sets. When they have so many backup abilities for when cards are destroyed..or targeted...so what if I don't ever do either of those things and just let them ram 500mph into a thick brick wall? XD
In Magic the Gathering, a win wasn't a win for me unless the match was won in style, or even with an extremely overwhelming board state vs the opponent, whether I finish with 100+ hasted 100/100 soldiers, a 256/256 hasted trampler, reviving the opponent's entire graveyard onto my battlefield, forcing the opponent to draw their own cards and killing themselves with Ob Nixilis, copying spells or permanents like 20+ times over with duplicated Thousand Year Storms, and etc. I believe the latest jank I was able to enjoy was probably the Ozolith+Amass deck I had created, with cards like Widespread Brutality + Chrystalline Giant. Always nice to have a Vigilant, Hexproof, flying, lifelink, Deathtouch, Menace army with first strike that regenerates every turn thanks to Ozolith running as backup to hold onto the counters if it goes away. 😉
And you can't forget the Dreadhorde Invasion. :3
I was not much into the straight up red aggro, or the straight up counterspells like many others tend to do, which is actually the reason I left MtG, after a new counterspell was developed that doubled as a land, which increased the likelihood of the opponent always holding yet another counterspell. That's what pretty much drew the line for me with MtG, and then with Yu-Gi-Oh, I think it became the 2 paragraphs of text on each card narrowed down to where I needed glasses in order to read them, and especially became hard to read over certain foils of the cards.
But that's a bit of my background in my hobbies that brought me here, with Crypto, Splinterlands, NFTs, and the communities with them. I collect a bit of art here and there on WAX, especially with VirtualDream. I am closing in on about 1,400 virtual dreams in my WAX wallet now, and appreciate some of the artwork pumped out by them, and not being as expensive as many tend to be.
What brings me to Snorfkingdom specifically? I guess I had happened to bump into the Snorfkin booth on an earlier Dygycon, and found it to be a pretty chill community, and had some fancy nostalgic looking collectibles that appear as if they would have been from some GBA RPG game or something. They were pulling in various communities from other crypto games at the time to hang out and chat. I think I've met a couple of Uplift people there for a bit who helped me get started, and they started in Splinterlands, so there were pulls into each other within the gaming communities, even though I did kind of drop off from Uplift...honestly what appears to me as what seems to be a lack of progress..? 😅 I'm just a bit skeptical of them right now to be honest. Too much time had passed for there not to be hardly any added functionality to a game, where the foundation of the game had pretty much already existed before it was worked on, since it is basically a Minecraft server with extra perks.
It's a nice thought to have a world with your own plots with borders, and controls to them, and still be able to interact with others without fear that everything could go wrong to anything built each second that passes, but there has to be more than just this in order for them to succeed.
Anyways, that's a little about me and what brought me here. Regarding what I think could improve this community..? I think maybe keep up with the fancy collectibles, maybe see if somehow there can be a collab in making like micro RPG-like versions of things from the various games the community participates in, onboard more communities, and make it like a central hub for like crypto gaming updates.
What central hub here do we have on discord currently that does updates for each thing like this accessible from one place just with a number ping coming out of discord notifications? we don't need various emails for updates that we would have to delete. We can just check back in the one server and see what Splinterlands, Uplift, Xonotic, Axie Infinity, and etc are doing. It's convenient, and it's like having your very own community in a local card shop or something. :P
I did also forget to mention here, I did not know what Bitcoin was at the time I was playing Habbo, but later on down the road when I was pointing out flaws of the central banking system and listening to channels like the X22Report, I started finding out what Bitcoin actually was. I previously just thought it was like an alternate payment option starting to be used for a couple of different games, because at the time, I did happen to come across a couple of different ones way back during the days Habbo was extremely popular that seemed to have an option to use that for payment.
Now I don't remember exactly when I discovered the use-case, but I know Andreas Antonopoulos and one of his speeches about the corrupt banking system was like on the mark for me, and he later brought up what Bitcoin was, and how we could use it.
So that gives a bit of a hint on how I started that journey. :)
Finally got my intro post up: https://peakd.com/hive-123023/@oceanbee/discovery-of-the-snorfkingdom
Finally got some spare time to write for my introduction. Hello community my name is iamgem005. This is my ingame name in most of the games I am playing. I'm an engineer/gamer/traveler living in the Philippines. I started my crypto journey last Q2 2021 doing some trading but totally newbie on this field that would love to explore and learn.
Moving forward, NFT games become popular Axie infinity, Cryptoblade and etc but I did not join on this NFT games as gas fees expenses is a no-no for me. Then I found the card game Splinterlands which then become my favorite NFT game because of infinite possiblities of card strategies and combinations. It is not a typical game were in if you have some strategy, then you can use it all the way throughout the game. I find this boring.
What brings me here is that because of Dygycon since it is hosted by Splinterlands. Dygycon introduce me to the Wax Community which then lead me to the Snorfkingdom booth. What I like about Snorfkingdom is because of the nostalgic style NFTs, RPG like story telling adventure, and the community that I think would be a best to be part of.
I think one question I have in mind is the main use of the NFT. What could be other future use of the NFTs? In my honest opinion NFT is nothing if without utility.
Since there is a plan to publish physical products in the future. Are you planning on releasing a board game (ie One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Avalon) related to the Snorfkingdom?
Welcome, Gem! It is go nice to see another new citizen join us in the Vale of Snorf!
