One of the most reliable — and underrated — ways to do that is through the Shield Ward ability, which grants Shield to the unit in front of the Shield Ward monster at the start of battle. It does have its weakness to magic damage unless the shielded monster also has void! It is a great combo with Quilliun Legionary once he has void!
Today’s combo shows how you can build a powerful, durable, and efficient frontline using:
Brewmaster Abraxas-Rebellion summoner for Fire/Earth teams. He is a gamechanger letting you utilize earth and fire monsters creating some wicked combos.
Drybone Megalodon – A high-damage, tank melee attacker with Flank
Mana Warden (Level 3) – Positioned in second, granting Shield to the front
Virid Venomancer (Level 5) – Supporting from the backline with Shield Ward and Poison
💡 How It Works Let’s break it down!
🔥 Drybone Megalodon (Frontline Tank) Normally placed second to use Flank, but here it’s the frontline
Flank allows it to attack the enemy frontline tank
Huge melee damage from turn 1
Receives Shield from Mana Warden behind it — halving incoming melee & ranged damage
Stays alive longer to crush the frontline

🧱 Why Shield Matters Shield reduces all melee and ranged damage by half (rounded up):

2 dmg → 1 dmg
1 dmg → 0 dmg
It also reduces thorns retaliation damage to just 1
Cancels Redemption (on-death damage)
