Featured artist: Iris | Mina Magazine
The text I share with you today was written by me from my interview with the Argentinian artist, Iris, and it talks about how and why she created projects that isolate the female breast from the body (or the nipple from the breast) to fool algorithms and circumvent censorship on social networks.
Censorship of female bodies has been a major obstacle for artists who rely on social media to promote their art, even if the nudity shown there is not erotic, pornographic, or explicit.
The text is part of the third issue of Mina and can be checked out in full in the images from the magazine reposted below.
The photographs that illustrate the pages of Mina are all by Iris.
About Mina
Mina is a monthly magazine minted on the Tezos blockchain and was created to share the work of women artists, especially in photography, and to share their stories.
If you are a collector of NFTs, you can support our project by collecting an issue on the Teia community site. If you aren't a collector, but are a photography enthusiast and would like to follow the magazine more closely, you can join us on our social networks, on Twitter and Instagram.
This is a very interesting subject to be explored. A group of us have been playing around with art created by AI from text prompts that we give it to work with. I tried to get some art with nudity and random nipples began to pop up in weird places. It was interesting to watch how and when the AI would create a nipple for no reason. One AI adds nipples to the art and other AI is searching to remove them. Awesome interview and photos!
