Gemly - Is it really a game? Is it a futile exercise? Will it earn anything?

Gemly - a new gamified earning platform?

I've seen this platform a number of times given how many PTC ads I've clicked for the various platforms I've been messing around in. From one of the discords I frequent a friend happened to be touting this platform given he had successfully withdrawn from it and so I thought I'd give it a go.

So first things first, like most of these platforms there's a referral bonus so - shameless plug - here's my referral link:

With that out of the way, I'll go over briefly what is Gemly, i.e. the basics, Getting Started & the Mechanics, i.e how does it all seem to work, What is my strategy for it and finally what I think of it.

The Basics

From Gemly's website it touts itself as a P2E game that follows the following gameplay loop:

1 - You purchase mercenaries.
2 - The mercenaries destroy monsters.
3 - The rewards from this can be used to spend in game (on more mercenaries) or withdrawn.

And that is about it. It's a pretty simple formula and I'll go over what I think of this formula at the end.

Getting Started & the Mechanics

Signup is pretty easy you just need to load the page (use my referral link) and signup with a username, email address and password. Easy.
Play or skip the tutorial. As I understand it either way you'll get 100,000 gems to start the game with. If you do the tutorial you'll also have a few of the base mercenary (Ancient Ent) and second level mercenary (Impotent Barbarian).
Each mercenary has a different cost, ROI and duration.
As I understand it every mercenary has exactly the same total Return on investment being 200% - i.e you'll double the Gem Investment assuming the game runs the whole duration of the mercenary's existance.

Example - The Ancient Ent will cost one gem to purchase. Each Ent will earn 0.5% per day (or 0.005 gems per day) and will ROI after 200 days after which it will be earning profit. Each Ent will earn a total of 200% of its cost i.e. 2 gems and will therefore last for 400 days.
You can collect the gems the mercenaries earn any time and spend those gems how you like. You can either withdraw (minimum I believe is 100,000 gems) or reinvest by buying more mercenaries.
In addition to earning via the mercenaries you can also do PTC ads which equate to quite a lot of gems per click so definitely worth it if you want to speed up the process.
Withdrawals - as I understand it, gems have an exchange rate of 1,000,000 gems to one USD. The minimum withdrawal is 100,000 gems or USD0.10. via PAYEER or USD5.00 or USD 10.00 in BUSD or Tether.

And that probably sums up the game as I understand it. There are some pretty graphics showing a monster being killed by your mercenaries but I don't think this really changes much. You do get XP which will help your PTC earnings eventually and give you some boosters from time to time but neither of these changes the core mechanics which leads me to what am I doing?

What is my strategy?

Strategy - well I wouldn't really call this a game, perhaps a gamified investment? There may be more game aspects but I guess this is more of a theoretical competition - how much or what way to buy the mercenaries to extract value before the platform folds.

So what am I doing - firstly I'm not investing anything other than time into it. I don't believe there is any need to. I decided to just buy Ancient Ents which will last 400 days in total - no mercenary earns "more" than any other, it only earns it a bit faster with the Heavenly Knight costing a whopping one billion gems and earning at a rate of 1% per day.

I figure the time waiting to get 1 billion gems makes no sense so why not just start with Ent and compound for at least a month and then decide what to do next. I'll of course add this "Game" to my crypto stats which are running late again.. oops!.

I note that PTC ads give around 20000 - 30,000 gems per day if you do as many as you can so that will really speed things up. As on day 14 I have 540k Ents which earn 2,700 gems per day. Not too shabby. In fact I could get a whopping 10 cents every three days approximately just from the PTC ads alone but I'm just compounding for now to see where I get to.

My two cents

So what do I really thing about this sort of platform. Is it worth the time, is it any "fun"? Well lets start of with the fun part - it's not fun except for the fun of seeing the impact of compounding on the mercenary numbers.

How do I think the platform earns - via ads and player investments mainly as you can spend Gems on advertising your own websites (read referral links).

I think if the site lasts then it has potential to earn a bit with minimal if any investment so that's what I'm trying to do. If I keep up with the PTC I should be at a theoretical earning of USD0.10 per day in less than two months just by compounding and while it's not much I can keep compounding and see where it will get to. It's something that is interesting to see where it goes and if the site lasts say six months I could be getting a nice little pay our. If the site is to be believed it has lasted 96 days so far so lets see if I make anything out of it.

And so to sum up, it might be futile, it might crash before I get any payout, but it's kind of interesting to see if any of these sorts of sites will give you any payout at all. The person who "sold" me on it has pulled out a few dollars after about two months, though they did put in a dollar initally which of course sped things up.
