The Warrior I Became - Surly Drunk : Splinterlands Art Creation(Contest 344)

Hello All Friend.

I use my own face as a foundation today to bring the Splinterlands battle card character Surly Drunk to life and merged my own facial features with his. I sculpted the drawing of my face as a starting point and shaped the drawing to embody both my personality and the warrior's spirit. Drawing myself was somewhat difficult, but I kept persisting and tried my best.

Observing Tusk and comparing him to myself, I began considering what it actually is to possess a warrior's spirit the strength, the discipline, the resilience. It's a path that demands something more than courage. But during this process of creativity, I felt something deeply, intimately personal. I even gave myself a beard something I don't have in actuality to enhance the character's rough appearance and completely engage in the transformation.

For Splinterlands Weekly Art Contest #344 last week, I also produced an original version of an elven mystic enchantress a radiant, mystical being from the fantasy world of Splinterlands, brimming with arcane power.

Concept & Inspiration:

This vibrant hand-drawn illustration captures the raw, early essence of the Coastal Sentry, an elemental guardian of the seas. With a dynamic mix of colored pencil textures and imaginative design, this version radiates character and attitude, blending natural elegance with a subtle menace.

Art Creation Process (Step-by-Step):

1. Concept & Planning

The character is a powerful orc warlord who has ascended through sheer brutality and tactical genius. Enchanted armor forged in cursed flame, he commands respect and terror on the battlefield.

Light shading and layering techniques were used to create depth in her feathered attire and body.

Today, I am drawing a card inspired by the Splinterlands battle card, Surly Drunk.

Splinterlands Card name : Surly Drunk

The Coiled Chalice is a favored haunt of Iazo Dras. Iazo Dras, however, is no one’s favored patron. The more he drinks, the more irritable and sullen he becomes. Combined with his churlish demeanor, it’s not exactly a pleasure to share a table with him.

The barmaid Lysansera Syltheras, however, always welcomes him with a drink and a sympathetic shoulder to lean on. For she knows the extent of Iazo’s losses under the brutal reign of the Chaos Empire.
