thanks. It was just a single day, fortunately.
Don‘t know how I would have done more of these. I had to unload and reload the production van because it broke down twice before I took it over, so we changed the van.
After I helped at the base.
The tent weights and the sandbags was the worst. That combined with arthrithis is just pure pain

My longest day was 21 hours on a music video. I remember falling asleep standing up while leaning on a wall. Crazy industry we have friends

Yeah it is crazy. I had a 21 hour shoot on a commercial once. That was tough.
Actually illegal to let people work that long in Austria, but of course nobody cared or dared to say anything.

Fortunately in Austria we have pretty good Unions and overtime is something that production wants to cut at all costs. As a member of the grip department you would get double day wage in your 15th hour. So mostly they try to plan with max 30-60 minutes overtime in each department.

Sounds like our union here. The 14th hour is what we call the start of golden time! It's triple your hourly rate.
