Splinterlands Social Media Challenge Legends in the Making

This week I am going to talk about my Splinterlands story. How I have discovered Splinterlands, the evolution of my strategy since I have started and my goals in Splinterlands now.

How did I discover Splinterlands?

Back in 2021 right after the big media stories about Dodgecoin and Elon pumping it on Twitter I have decided to get into Crypto. I got some Dogecoin when it fell from the highs to somewhere in the forty cent range, I got some BTC, some ETH some ADA and a few other coins.

I wanted to get into mining of BTC or ETH, but it seemed that ETH was going away from mining towards proof of stake and BTC mining was becoming cost prohibitive equipment wise. I decided that while mining was not for me, mining via play to earn would have a good potential to mine some coins.

At the time one of my favorite YouTube channels was Crypto Banter and I saw @aggroed on one of their videos talking about Splinterlands and SPS:

I liked what Aggy had to say inad shortly after this video in August of 2021 I have decided to jump into Splinterlands. I have been with Splinterlands ever since:

Right now I am with YGG Legion Guild that is ranked at number eight among all Splinterlands Guilds:

I like this guild, it is a very relaxed guild with a max level Guild Hall so I get maximum benefit in Survival and Ranked battles and we are in the top Brawling tier (Tier 5). While we often take the last place in brawls SPS rewards are still pretty good so I am happy where I am guild wise at this time.

I still remember the first Guild in Splinterlands that I have joined: "the storongest" that was an active guild in 2021, but as time went by people left our leader became inactive and I left the guild. Right now the guild has nine members but none of them are active anymore and the guild is ranked at 1,524 place:

My next guild was THGaming Brawlers. I have been with that guild for a very long time and have very positive feelings about that great guild. Unfortunately guild owner @dynamicrypto has basically left Splinterlands and @jim-crypto did his best to keep it afloat, but guild in Spinterlands require big investment to keep leveling up buildings and stay competitive. So while THGaming Brawlers is still a great guild and is often ranked in the top 100 Splinterlands guilds and has a huge streak of recent first place placings in Tier 3 brawls I felt the need for a more advanced guild so I have switched to YGG Legion.

Still THGaming Brawlers is a great Brawling guild and they can really use some new members with four open spots right now. They are the best THGaming guild as you can see from the image above.

How has your strategy evolved since you started?

When I have just started I have been playing just earning DEC and later SPS. As I got more into the game I have played Tournaments and Guild Brawls. These days I no longer play Tournaments as I feel they are really competitive and once the free entry was changed to the paid entry I don't feel that they are worth the risk and effort to enter.

These days I focus more on the Brawls and Ranked play. Very cool new addition is Survival mode that is the most rewarding mode of play in Splinterlands right now in terms of SPS rewards. It is followed by Modern Ranked play, Wild Ranked play and Brawls.

When Splinterlands announced the sale of Splinterlands Validator Node licenses I got my SPS Validator license in the presale and held it ever since. Recently after about two years of waiting Splinterlands finally launched SPS Validators, and I have been a top validator for a few weeks in the top ten SPS validators. Recently I have slipped out of the top ten validators and have been hanging around 13th place.

Still it is fun to be able to run my SPS Validator in Azure and help decentralize my favorite game! I wanted to get into crypto mining and I am basically mining SPS tokens with my SPS Validator!

It is also fun to be on the same list of who is who in Splinterlands with names such as aggroed, peakmonsters, vugtis, @nate-sps, @azircon, @cryptomancer, @yabapmatt and the new COO of Splinterlands @davemccoy

All the SPS my SPS Validator node is earning is automatically staked to build my Staked SPS.

What are your goals in the game now?

These days my goals in Splinterlands center around a few basic things. First of all I like accumulating and maxing out the reward cards using the glint that I earn in the game, second I am an active participant in the Guild Brawls and finally I am focusing on accumulation of as much SPS as I can.

Right now I am at around 462K of staked SPS and my goal is to reach 500K Staked SPS in May 2025 and 1,000,000 SPS this year!

I will reach my 500K SPS goal in May for sure, as far as one million SPS by the end of the year, I don't know... That is one ambitious goal, but I think it is good to set your goals high, that way you achieve more in life! If you don't reach for a high goal and just sit there you don't accomplish anything.

Splinterlands runs on Hive Blockchain and while Hive Power is not directly related to the game I think building Hive Power is important and I am also a Hive Witness, so I would really appreciate if Splinterlands community would support me by voting your Hive Power for my Hive Witness.
