My SPS Milestone Achieved: 550K+ Staked! SPS for All on Coinbase Soon?

On June fifth of this year I have finally achieved my half a million SPS staked milestone. And today about a month and a half later I am happy to report that I am over five hundred fifty thousand SPS staked!

Interestingly since the price of SPS has dropped since June fifth, my staked SPS is actually worth less than it was in June. I have ten percent more tokens but the price of tokens went down from $4,335 to $3,907 that is more than $400 lower.

I am not really concerned about the value of my tokens as this is a long term bet and it doesn't matter if the price of SPS token is $0.0071 or $0.0095. I am looking at a long term potential of SPS token and will be considering reducing my SPS holdings if price starts to push 30 cents a token or more, which is more than x30 from these levels.

Price going down just means that now is a better time to accumulate SPS tokens than it was during this June. The game is being actively developed with updates released every Tuesday morning and there are other changes that make me optimistic about the future of the game and SPS token.

SPS / USDC Liquidity Pool on Airdrome Finance

One of these positive changes happened today! Thanks to the efforts of our SPS DAO manager @clayboyn we now have a new liquidity pool on Airdrome Finance!

Why is having a pool on Airdrome Finance is a big deal? The reason why it is a big deal, is because Airdrome Finance is the biggest DEX on Base Chain:

As you can see TVL (Total Value Locked) is $4.463 Billion Dollars on Base chain and the third largest project on Base chain is Aerodrome and it is also the largest DEX on Base ahead of Uniswap that is the second ranked DEX on Base and fifth overall on Base chain.

Aerodrome is also the DEX on Base that is integrated into the Coinbase Base Wallet app so when Coinbase users go to buy a token in their Base wallet they use Aerodrome as their DEX, that is why it is important to have a liquidity pool on Aerodrome so that the user experience is as seamless as possible for Coinbase users.

And here is SPS / USDC Liquidity Pool on Aerodrome:

As you can see the pool is so new that there is no volume on it yet. Another thing that you can do to improve the user experience for Coinbase users is to list SPS token on Aerodrome then the SPS token becomes a lot more findable on Base Wallet app and you get a nice blue checkmark next to your pool on Base Wallet that says that this pool is for "Listed Tokens" giving Coinbase more confidence in our token and the liquidity pool itself.

As you can see from the screenshot of the Coinbase Base Wallet App above there are 299 tokens currently listed on Aerodrome and our SPS DAO manager reached out to Aerodrome Finance support to list our token on Aerodrome Finance DEX.

Coinbase Wallet DEX Coming to Coinbase

But the good news for the SPS token does not end there. Today CEO of Coinbase, founder of Base Chain and Head of Consumer and Business Products of Coinbase together released a video:

Where they announced that as of today they are starting a rollout of all Coinbase DEX assets to regular Coinbase users via the Coinbase App! Initially only five percent of Coinbase users will have access to the Coinbase DEX and ability to trade any asset on Base chain via Coinbase App.

I wasn't lucky to be included in the first 5% of the users, but soon this is coming to all of the Coinbase App users!

So with SPS listed on Base and available to trade via USDC / SPS pool on Aerodrome Finance all Coinbase users will be able to buy and sell SPS!

This is my amazing moment in Splinterlands where SPS is soon going to be available to all Coinbase users. That is almost as good as listing SPS on Coinbase!
