Splinterlands is a popular online collectible card game where players create and customize their own decks of monsters and battle against other players for rewards. Each battle is governed by a set of rules that determine the conditions for the fight, and one of these rulesets is Aim True.

RULESET: AIM TRUE

Description: Melee and ranged attacks will always hit their target.

Note: This applies to magic attacks as well even if there is a phase monster.

In the Aim True ruleset, monsters are guaranteed to hit their target with their attacks, regardless of any accuracy penalties or abilities that would normally cause them to miss. This rule can have a significant impact on the outcome of battles, especially for monsters that are prone to missing their attacks.

One of the main factors that determines a monster's likelihood of missing is its speed. Slow speed monsters are typically more likely to miss their attacks than faster monsters, especially if they are facing opponents with high evasion or other defensive abilities. This is because slower monsters take longer to prepare and execute their attacks, giving their opponents more time to evade or dodge.

In the Aim True ruleset, however, this disadvantage is eliminated, as even slow monsters are guaranteed to hit their targets. This means that monsters like the Mycelic Infantry, the Grum Flameblade, and the Frozen Soldier, which are all relatively slow, can become much more effective in battle.

However, it's important to note that even in the Aim True ruleset, slow monsters will still be among the last to act on the battlefield. This means that while they are more likely to hit their targets, they may still take a significant amount of damage before they can strike back.

Another key point to consider in the Aim True ruleset is that the True Aim/True Strike effect applies not only to melee and ranged attackers but also to magic attack monsters. This is significant because magic attacks can miss monsters with the Phase ability, which allows them to evade certain types of attacks. In the Aim True ruleset, however, even these evasive monsters can be hit by magic attacks with 100% accuracy.

Overall, the Aim True ruleset can have a significant impact on the strategies and tactics used in Splinterlands battles. By eliminating the risk of missing, it allows players to rely more heavily on slow monsters and to use magic attacks more effectively against evasive opponents. However, it's important to remember that slow monsters will still be among the last to act and may take significant damage before they can attack, so players should use them strategically and protect them accordingly.

The Strategy

As a Splinterlands player, I know that each battle is unique and requires a specific strategy based on the ruleset in play. In my latest battle, the rulesets were Aim True, Equal Opportunity, and Stampede, which presented a unique challenge that required careful consideration of my monster lineup.

Equal Opportunity ruleset means that all monsters can attack from any position, which makes monsters with double-strike and double-attack very useful. Because of this, I decided to include a level one Drybone Raider in my lineup, which hits twice with one ranged attack and two melee attacks. Even though it's a new legendary reward card and only at level one, its abilities are well-suited for the current rulesets.

Another monster that benefits from Equal Opportunity ruleset is the Axemaster. Even though it's only at level 4, its three ranged attacks coupled with double-strike make it a valuable addition to my lineup.

Since speed is crucial in this battle, I chose to include Diemonshark, a great tank monster with the Trample ability, which takes advantage of the Stampede ruleset. Its high speed and the ability to hit multiple targets make it a formidable force on the battlefield.

To protect my weaker monsters from attacks enabled by the Equal Opportunity ruleset, I included a Wave Brood as my taunt monster. Its ability to draw enemy attacks to itself makes it an ideal choice for this ruleset. Additionally, I chose River Hellondale to resurrect Wave Brood and inspire all my melee monsters, which would further strengthen my lineup.

With this lineup, I can take advantage of the rulesets and deal maximum damage to my opponent. By including monsters with double-strike and double-attack abilities, I can take advantage of the Equal Opportunity ruleset, while Diemonshark can deal significant damage with its Trample ability under the Stampede ruleset. The Wave Brood and River Hellondale provide additional support and protection to my lineup.

In conclusion, Splinterlands battles require careful consideration of the ruleset and an understanding of each monster's abilities. By carefully selecting my lineup based on the rulesets in play, I can maximize my chances of victory and gain valuable rewards. With the Aim True, Equal Opportunity, and Stampede rulesets, my lineup is poised to deal significant damage and emerge victorious.

THE BATTLE

My opponent put up a more leveled up and quite fearsome looking team:

In Round One my damage dealers were able to take out my opponent's taunt tank, while my taunt tank survived:

In Round Two we managed to take down two more enemy monsters Feasting Seaweed and Angelic Mandarin while my opponent took out my taunt tank twice:

In Round Tree we lost our tank and took out the opponent tank. But as we look at the start of the Round Four it is starting to become clear that it is turning into a winning battle for us:

At the start of the Round Five we see that our victory is in reach with our opponent's team down to just one monster and we still have four monsters on the battle field:

And after 5 rounds of battling it is all over!
