#Beersaturday, Trains, Concert, and wedding in a Castle

It has been a few #Beersaturday since I have posted. I am still struggling with Long Covid which has been one of the reasons I have not posted in a while.

For this beersaturday I will cover a trip that my wife and I took. My brother in law was getting married in Castle in Washington State. My wife and I decided to take our RV and make a trip out of it. The first stop my wife and I made was in Dunsmuir California to an RV Resort that also has rooms for rent which are old cabooses. The name of the RV resort is Railroad Park Resort. The resort is located in a beautifully wooded area of northern California.

We started the night off inside the old bar and dinning cars, where I enjoyed a few old fashions while my wife enjoyed a few lemon drops before a nice dinner. The bar and dinning cars are the red and green cars in the picture below.

After Diner we walked through the cabooses before returning to our campsite. The pictures below are the cabooses that you can stay the night in.

At our campsite, we sat outside and enjoyed the surroundings and first beers. The beer I was enjoying was Two Pitchers Brewing Nordic Jam. Two Pitchers Brewing is a brewery from Oakland California that mixes beers with fruit or fruit juices. Two Pitchers Brewing states that the type of beer with fruit they sell are called Radlers which is a type of beer from Germany.

The Nordic Jam is a lager with Nordic fruits, not usually my style of beer but I wanted something different.

As you can see Nordic Jam is a lager with cherries, elderberries, and strawberries mixed in. Nordic Jam has a 5.2% alcohol content and tastes really good. I enjoyed these beers as they were something very different then my usual IPA. If you see these around they are worth a try.

We packed up and headed to our next stop which was going to be Goldendale, Washington to see a band play that we saw in May in Nashville Tennessee. The town of Goldendale is very small and they have a Honky Tonk Bar and Grill that had the concert in the parking lot next to the restaurant. By this time my wife and I had met up with my mother in law and her boyfriend who were in their RV also heading toward the wedding.

We all had dinner at the Honky Tonk bar and grill. My mother in laws boyfriend and I started out with a few Rye whiskeys and then ate some dinner. When dinner was over we headed out to the parking lot next door and listened to the local band play prior to seeing the band we came to see play.

In the parking lot they had a beer stand set up that sold the basic beers (Coors, Budweiser, etc..). Since there was not going to be any craft beer sold outside I settled into a few Coors lights which I enjoyed since it was a nice warm night. Coors light is probably one of the most common beers I see at concert events I have been to. Coors light is extremely easy to drink. Coors light is brewed by Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado; Albany, Georgia; Elkton, Virginia; Fort Worth, Texas; Irwindale, California; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Coors light comes in at 4.2% ABV and is a mass produced American lager.

It was now time for Jake Maurer to play. Jake Maurer and his band were who we came to see. I have seen him play twice before in Nashville and he is one great entertainer. His band mates also put on a great show and they all have fun playing together.

This is Jake Maurer and you will notice that his mic stand also has a Coors light in it.

After the concert my wife and I took a photo with the band. We really enjoyed the night.

We finally made it to the wedding at Graystone Castle in Arlington, Washington. Graystone Castle is more of a large house then what I think of as a typical castle. The castle is on 5+ acres, overlooking the Stillaguamish River and the Stilly Valley. The inside is 20,000+ sq ft with 7 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, movie theater, spa inspired master bath, ballroom, chefs’ kitchen, pool table room, poker room, 4 main dining spaces, and four living/lounging rooms.

This is the front of the castle which doesn't show how big this place really was.

From the back the castle shows its size. My brother in law was married on the back deck area of the castle.

The interior of the castle had a few different styles inside which is evident in the formal dinning room with more of a castle feel and then a sitting room area that reminds me more of a log cabin.

The reception after the wedding ceremony was held in the ballroom area. My brother in law and I enjoyed numerous Elysian Brewing Space Dust IPA's.

Elysian Brewing Space Dust IPA is another one of my favorite beers. Space Dust is 8.2% ABV and is brewed in Seattle Washington about an hour away from the castle. Space Dust is brewed with Chinook, Citra, & Amarillo hops which give it a citrus mango hoppy flavor.

Overall this was a great trip, a great wedding, and a great chance to enjoy #beersaturday. I am glad to be back posting again.

Welcome back and great post. A nice camping site with the old trains as well. Just too bad that you haven't made any picture from the inside. Would have been interesting as well. A good idea to take a picture form the back of the castle with a human in front, to see the size... Wow, impressive! !PIZZA
