Fun Times At The Gallery 5830' Grand Opening
Last night was a lot of fun. It was the Grand Opening of Gallery 5830' in Downtown Truckee, California. I have a bit of my work on exhibit there. Canvas prints, and small prints that I personally produce and are ready for framing. Unfortunately, the big acrylic prints I ordered have still not arrived so they were not up in time for the opening like I had planned.
I also had an NFT on display and for sale through the gallery. The owners of the gallery purchased a Metasill Frame that is designed to display minted NFTs. They will also be accepting certain crypto currencies as payment for art. I had conversations with a few people last night that knew what NFTs were and they seemed happy to see one on display and for sale in the gallery. I also chatted with one person who owns a few NFTs, it was nice to talk with someone who "spoke my language" as a lot of people still have no clue what an NFT is. We're hoping to have more on display and for sale soon.
Back to traditional art... The gallery has a nice variety of types of art like paintings, jewelry, sculpture, and of course, my photography :) Most of the art is produced by locals here in the Tahoe area. They also now have a piano at the gallery, for people to sit and play if they want to. It will be rolled outside at times so one of our long time locals in town can play and collect donations for the local music school.
I'd say the event was a success! These photos weren't taken at the busiest moments, I was too busy chatting then. A lot of people stopped by and enjoyed h'orderves, adult beverages, art, and good conversations. I had a lot of fun and it seemed like everyone else did too.
If you happen to make it to Truckee, California on your travels (near Lake Tahoe), please do stop by Gallery 5830'. Let me know that you will be visiting, I'd love to meetup at the gallery.
By the way... fun fact: Gallery 5830' gets it name from the gallery's elevation. Truckee is a mountain town with lots of ski resorts nearby. I live a bit higher than downtown, at about 6200'.
Thank you for looking and I hope you all have a great day!

Looks like a great opening night and good crowd. I'm sure it was a blast being a part of it.
It was indeed! Happy to be a part of the gallery.
Oh-yeah! Looks like a cool place to hang around. I wonder though, how to you price a photo?
Cool place indeed!

Nooo, I mean, how do you define how much you're gonna ask for a photo. I ask that because I'm planning to print some photos to sell while I'm traveling (nothing super dupper fancy), but I have no idea how much to charge.
