BlockStars: My First Foray into a Solana based NFT Project

Right now NFT projects are popping off like candy from a pez dispenser. Picking one to invest in and play can become overwhelming, especially considering there are several different blockchains they can run on.

Choices, Choices, Choices

Solana is one of the blockchains growing rapidly in the NFT space. ETH is still the lead dog and has first mover advantage, but chains like solana and polygon have been making significant headway of late.

Up till now, ETH based NFTs are the only projects I have invested.

That is all about to change.....

BLOCKSTARS

Blockstars is an Solana based Play-to-Earn (P2E) NFT game launching on February 5th.

The fact that blockstars is a play-to-earn NFT game is the first reason I like it. Personally, I only invest in games based NFTs because the have a use case.

Create your own band and reach for stardom! That is the main tagline that comes through my mind when I think about this project, but let me show some description directly from the blockstars home page:

"Blockstars is a deeply social, deeply immersive and deeply engaging music management simulation game on the Solana blockchain.

Together, we can play and create a valuable player-to-player economy that allows everyone to benefit from their gameplay. In Blockstars, players have true ownership of their assets, and play to earn - for real."

We're getting the band back together!!!

And there will be plenty of gameplay indeed as you'll use your blockstarts to write, record and release music as well as play gigs and hone your characters skills.

For the gamers out there, it seems pretty cool. We all know the cat is more of an investor though. Which is why I'm jumping in at launch and have made sure to get whitelisted.

Looking for fate to treat me well and bestow some blockstars with tons of potential that players will clamor for a few months down the line.

Something else really cool....

Those who hold blockstars will get a 3D model and an image for social media profile pictures.

Here's what's cool though; the 3D model can be used across different metaverses like Decentraland and Sandbox

Blockstars is launching on Magic of Eden with an initial price of 1 SOL per blockstar.

Man this stuff is making my head spin. So many opportunities.

The NFT world truly does remind me of the dotcom era when many projects were hyped to the nth degree. College dropouts were getting millions of dollars in funding simply because they were "going to build an app".

I believe the NFT market is going to be incredible. That said, a lot of garbage in there now. The hype is, I believe, outpacing the tech at this moment. It will catch up, just need a clearing out at some point.

Agree 100%. Sadly, its usually a bear market that does the clearing out and with the mania NFTs have been the past year and money made I worry how much longer does it go? Hopefully a while as I'm still trying to make crypto riches.

I am not sure how to navigate this new world of NFTs. I know you can make by flipping images but I would like to wait until they have use cases other than gaming.

Yeah, I'm sure use case will expand over the coming years (as NFTs are great for many things). Right now gaming seems to be the main one for now.

Yeah. It is obvious that gaming could be first and easy transition to visualize the use of NFTs. I think NFTs will grow big with sports as there is an inherent fan culture with merchandise and souvenir collection.

There's just too much going on to get a taste of it all. I'm trying to just focus on hive and the opportunities it will reveal in the future. The outside world beyond hive is mindboggling. To me the metaverse still looks exactly like it did when I worked on MTV Virtual Worlds in 2007. Accessing it may be different but it's the same lol. I have no clue what will be "the one" but you are right about how the bear market will clear out most.

This looks like an interesting project and probably also Rising Star from Hive blockchain can inspire out of it. For some reason, I don't like Solana, too centralized for my taste...

Cool, will have to look into this. I have also dived into Solana and invested quite a bit into dragon watch hero. Still very early and not a game yet, but the work that has been put into presale nfts for the game is impressive.

This is from their site: Dragons Watch Heroes is a brand new digital trading card game featuring 854 unique heroes! The Heroes have been lovingly handcrafted by a team of professional game artists over the course of three years. All proceeds from the sale will go to fund the development of the game.

The NFTs will have in-game utility and you can also earn rewards by completing sets.

For only 1 SOL for each blockstar is a good offer, of course if the price continues to grow it will be impossible to buy, I also like the NFT with real use cases, as you can get more out of it than just pump and dump.

I didn't know about Blockstars before reading this post, now I'm going to make more research and know more about it thanks for sharing.

As for NFTs on ETH blockchain scares me because the gas fee.
