Vonak! The Rise of Incendiary Debilitation
Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
Rebellion
was the 5th major set that was introduced into Splinterlands and just like the previous sets, it has introduced a new batch of abilities to the game, expanding the variety of strategies and card synergies that we can use to win our battles. But aside from new abilities, Rebellion also comes with debilitations which rather than benefit, it brings negative buffs into the card in exchange of having higher stats in contrast their mana cost.
Last week, I talked about the Weary debilitation which makes the card exhausted and unable to attack and with this post, I will talk about one of the debilitations called Incendiary
and how it could affect the result of the battle.
What is Incendiary Debilitation?
Incendiary
is another debilitations that was first introduced with the Rebellion soulbound reward cards. This debilitation will apply the Burning status to the card at the beginning of the second round which will cause the card to lose 2 health for each of the succeeding round. It also has 33% chance to spread the Burning status on adjacent units at the beginning of each round. In exchange, the card with the debilitation has higher stats for their its cost.
Cons
⛔️ Incendiary gives the Burning status that will inflict 2 damage to the card for each round that it was in play, starting in round 2.
⛔️ Burning Status has 33% chance to spread into allied units for each passing round.
⛔️ Burning Status can still be spread even if Units with Burning or Incendiary are Stunned.
⛔️ Units with Immunity also gets the Burning status when they got Incendiary (i.e. Forgotten One can gets the Burning due to the effect of incendiary when Kha'zi Conjurer was in play.) and the damage can't be reduced by either Shield or Reflection Shield
Prons
✅ Units with Incendiary will have stats that were higher in contrast of their mana cost.
✅ While Incendiary cannot be Cleansed, the Burning status on a card is Cleansable.
Best Ruleset

Since Incendiary
is a debilitation that gives negative status on the unit with the card's ability, the best ruleset to play cards with Weary was during back to basics since the debilitation will not activate but on certain occasions it can also benefit when used during What Doesn't Kill You ruleset was in play to trigger the Enrage ability on your ally units.
Cards with Incendiary Debilitation
As of the moment, the only card with Incendiary
debilitation was Kha'zi Conjurer. which is a fire element archery unit that at only 2 mana has a max damage of 6, max health of 5 and max speed of 5. It also has the Piercing ability that will make its attack to penetrate the excess damage on the target's armor to its health.
Battle Showcase
In this battle, there is a very low mana cap available and aside from that we also don't have armor due to the effect of the of Unprotected ruleset. But this brings me a good opportunity to use Kha'zi Conjurer since it can inflict the entirety of its damage. Add to that was the Fog of War ruleset which makes attacks from Sneak and Snipe disabled to it gets safer on its backline position and with Conqueror Jacek not only it gains 2 additional speed but also the Scattershot ability to randomize the target of my attacks. The opponent also employs the same strategy but he has much lesser cards on his lineup.
With a stroke of luck, my Kha'zi Conjurer was able to hit my opponent's card which is higher leveled than mine and only has 1 health on it as a result, when round 2 begins, the Burning will burn the card, resulting for the loss of my opponent's most powerful attacker while mine was still left with 4 health and the Burning also did not spread in my team.
On round 2, the next monster that was defeated by my Kha'zi Conjurer was Doctor Blight and when round 3 starts, the Burning status once again did not spread on my team though My kha'zi Conjurer receives 2 damage and is now down to 1 health.
Up to the end of the match, it was all thanks to my Kha'zi Conjurer that I have won the match for defeating all my opponent's attacker and the Burning Status did not activate through ought the round.
Closing
With the Debilitations that were included in the Rebellion set, Incendiary
may have the highest risk of using given that it can affect not only the card with the debilitation but also has the potential of affecting the entire team specially with longer battles and even with the card with the Incendiary dies, the Burning status will still spread as long as there is the Burning status on your remaining card. That said, the match can also end with the Burning status not spreading just like the battle that I show. At the end, it still up to you to weight when to use the card with Incendiary and if the risk was worth it.
Thank you and see you at the next post.
