The First Conclave Arcana Conflicts Is Live
Hello there! @saydie here, manually playing Splinterlands every day!
Finally, the wait for Conclave Arcana Conflicts is now over as it became live last July 16th. Took a while longer than expected, given that the presale ended more than two months ago. But that, I guess, gives time to implement Wagon Kits, which brings additional utility for land as well as more time for testing and balancing the airdrop cards. Plus, it also prolongs the duration of the Rebellion set in modern. If you haven't staked your cards in your wagons, do it now, cause as time goes by, you were losing those precious contribution points that you need to get a copy of the card.
Anyways, my topic for this week is to take a look at Zyrx the Emberglace, which is the first airdrop card for the Conclave Arcana Conflicts.
The First Airdrop Card
Last week, when I made a post about Conflicts and Wagons, but during that time, we did not yet have the idea about the first airdrop card aside from that it was a dragon unit with its art revealed in June 19 Townhall. But close to the release of conflict, we have finally been given the information about the name and stats of the airdrop card.

With 10 mana, Zyrx the Emberglace places itself with the realm of the giants, which is weak against Giant Killer, but fortunately, no cards with such ability are present in the current modern. As a dragon unit, it has the Flying ability at level 1 which is an obvious trait it should have as it will give it 25% chance to evade melee and range attacks while at level 2, it gains Charge which allows this card to maximize the use of it's melee attack, regardless of it's position. On level 3, it gains Execute that allows the card to attack once again after a successful attack that lives the target with 2 or less damage, and by max level, it gains Bloodlust that will allow for Zyrx the Emberglace to get a boost on all of its stats when it defeats an opponent.
Overall, this card is powerful. However, this card also got Incendiary, which is a debilitation that applies Burning at the beginning of round 2 and has a 33% chance to spread on adjacent units. Then, every unit that got Burning will receive 2 damage each round, so it can also pose a serious risk for your team when using it.
Compatible Rulesets
![]() Earthquake | Since Zyrx the Emberglace has Flying ability, it will be unaffected by the effects of this ruleset unless ensnared. |
![]() Explosive Weaponry | Adding the Blast ability to Zyrx the Emberglace further spreads the damage it can inflict to adjacent opponents and along with Execute, it can be a very deadly card. |
![]() Heavy Metal | With 7 armor at its disposal, Zyrx the Emberglace gets more than the necessary requirement for this ruleset. |
![]() Might Makes Right | The 5 melee damage of Zyrx the Emberglace makes him compatible for this ruleset but it also has 2 magic damage to add some punch. |
![]() Need For Speed | Zyrx the Emberglace may not be the fastest, but has more than enough speed for this ruleset. |
![]() Up Close & Personal | Being a melee unit that can attack at any position plus the additional magic damage, Zyrx the Emberglace is a very suitable card to play on this ruleset. |
![]() Wands Out | Not only does it have magic, but it can also inflict additional melee attacks. |
Archon Synergies
Modern format currently has 4 Archons that players can use- two from Rebellion and two from Conclave Arcana, but if you think that Zyrx the Emberglace will be more compatible to the Conclave Arcana Archons, well, it's wrong.
For instance, you may not want to use the tactics ability, Poison Burst and Corrosive Ward, of the Archon Sheng Xiao to Zyrx the Emberglace due to its Incendiary debilitations, which may be the cause of its own death, resulting for the Poison Burst ability to not trigger. Meanwhile, Kavor Skarn can not use its Bloodline Dominion ability to Zyrx the Emberglace since they do not have the same bloodline.
Less compatible with Zyrx the Emberglace

On the other hand, Rebellion Archons seems to have better synergy to Zyrx the Emberglace with the Ambush ability from Akane to give it the ability to attack even before round 1 starts, and potentially defeating some opponent cards or by the Blast and Deathblow ability from Nidhoggr so that every effective attack from Zyrx the Emberglace can spread out to the units adjacent to its target.

Airdrop Requirements
To get a guaranteed copy of Zyrx the Emberglace, a player will need a minimum of 800 entries, with each entry needing 100,000 points. With only 45k/hr points, I can only have an estimate of 328 entries at the end of the airdrop, giving me no guarantee of getting the card, unless I add more packs, cards, and wagons. That said, each entry will give a 0.125% chance to get a copy of the card.
A player will get a guaranteed Gold Foil copy of the card for every 25 cards they get, and by using 50 Alchemy potions per entry, it can be reduced the requirement to every 13 cards.
Players can also use 50 Midnight potions per entry to increase the chance of getting a Black foil copy of the card to 0.20% from its base chance of 0.10%
Closing
And that was it for the first Conclave Arcana Conflict card. While it doesn't have that much of a synergy with the current CA Archons, we don't yet have an idea of what the Dragon Conflict Archon will be, so even though this card is fairly powerful already, it can be more powerful in the future. On the meantime, Rebellion Archons will provide more flexibility and freedom when using Zyrx the Emberglace.
Thank you and see you on the next post!
