Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

Dar Gottem Gearnut.png

With more than 3 days left as per the writing of this post, **Tasoshi Drakamoto**, the very first Conclave Arcana voucher card, will finally end its general sale period. So far, it has used up a total of 1,699,000 Vouchers in its general sale and a combined sum of 212,500 Vouchers from the Gold Foil Arcane Fortune Draw and Black Foil Arcane Auction for a total of 1,911,500 Vouchers spent. With how things are going, I don't think we will reach the 3.6 Million Vouchers we need to make it deflationary, but it did burn a decent amount of Vouchers.

With that said, we finally got a glimpse of the next Voucher card from the most recent Splinterlands Town Hall, so I want to make an early analysis of the card and maybe be able to help players decide whether or not to grab this card. And now let me introduce you to Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut, the second Conclave Arcana Voucher Card.

Second Conclave Arcana Voucher Card

Lvl 4 - ability void.png Void

Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut is a 14-mana legendary card, which makes it one of the highest mana card in all modern cards, just only 2 mana less than Rage, but holly molly, it has a whopping 25 health in total, which makes it the highest among all cards and makes it a very powerful tank, not to mention, it also has 4 armor that further added to its beefiness. In terms of attack and speed, it only has 3 stats on both of those, which is not that powerful, but also not that weak.

When it comes to its abilities, it has Trample at level 1, which allows this card to attack once again when it defeats a card, along with Flank at level 2, which gives any melee units next to it the Reach ability as well as the Inspire ability at level 3 that will give +1 damage on all melee units, including Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut. It also has the Void ability at level 4 that cuts the magic damage in half of its original attack.

Overall, this is a solid tank, but with 14 mana, it is most likely to be used in high mana battles. Also, unlike Tasoshi Drakamoto that is a fire unit, Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut is both a life and dragon unit, which adds more utility to this card, and since it was a gnome, it can also be used by Archons with gnome bloodline and gain new abilities from its Bloodline Dominion.

Compatible Rulesets

Fog of War
With most of the attacks focused on the front, after losing Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity abilities, good luck taking this unit out with how beefy it is.
Heavy Metal.png
Heavy Metal
Having 4 armor, makes Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut a decent tank in this ruleset, not because it has large armor but because of his high health.
up-close-&-personal.png
Up Close & Personal
With only melee units available, Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut will clearly stand out more since it has the Flank ability that can give melee monsters the reach ability.
Might Makes Right.png
Might Makes Right
The 3 melee damage of Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut makes him compatible for this ruleset.
img_combat-rule_need-for-speed_150.png
Need For Speed
Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut may not be the fastest, but has more than enough speed for this ruleset.

What Doesn't Kill You
Making Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut enrage will not increase its speed but also its melee attack.

Posible Synergies

With Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut being a dual-element unit, having both life and dragon attributes, it can be used along with many archons as well as can also be mixed and matched along with different elements, making way for different strategies to be born, but among the archons, I think Elias Max Pruitt and Razi Clanktrap has the most synergy to this card.

For instance, Elias Max Pruitt can give it +1 armor that further increases its defense, while the +1 melee, along with its Inspire, will increase its max damage to 5. And since it has the Flank ability, you can just add melee units with high armor and damage, then give them the Armored Strike ability, such as Commander Slade or Leolinn Sifu, that will also get a melee boost.

Meanwhile, with Razi Clanktrap it will gain the Painforge ability that will allow it to gain an increase to its attack when it loses health due to Poison and Burning debilitation, so being used along with units like Cavewise Wayfinder or Water Diviner will make it a lot more stronger. Also, make it a good use case for this card when there is the Noxious Fumes ruleset.

Pricing

As there was still no formal announcement for the next Voucher card, we still don't know how Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut will be priced, not to mention how much it will cost to participate in the Gold Foil Arcane Fortune Draw and the Black Foil Auction. That said, the previous legendary voucher card, Ulfga the Blighted, cost 1500 Vouchers. I feel that the previous price was too high for the card, given that Tasoshi Drakamoto only costs 250 Vouchers per BCX as an epic card. I just hope they lower the price of the card a bit so even I could have the chance to get it.

Closing

And that is my early analysis for Dar 'Gottem' Gearnut, I think it is a way better and more desirable card compared to Tasoshi Drakamoto- perhaps, the second strongest card in my opinion(For now, I believe Kelan Gaines was still better), but it was still early to say whether it will result for us to be Voucher deflationary.

Thank you, and see you on the next post!

I'm thinking of betting my luck on the fortune draw if the required ticket has about the same cost as the required vouchers.

yeah, though it's a lot cheaper than ulfga and the price for an rf card and to enter the raffle is almost the same, so might as well wait for the raffle and hope to get a GFA.

Still observing the market. 1050 vouchers right now is about 23k dec. 35 fortune draws are about 24k dec, but might get lower if supply increases. I say gamble but even if I did not win gfa, I will still get an rf for the entry.

Oh wow, I missed the town hall and only saw this card screenshot on X. I thought it was a "fan fiction" joke because of the 25 health. Thanks for your breakdown of the card. Like you, I hope they lower the price a bit so that I can get one.

Well, it seems they lowered the price by 30% if we base it on ulfga. Still a lot but was more manageable given that it will stay on sale for 90 days.

Ah interesting, I didn't realize they have lowered it by 30% compared to Ulfga.

Awesome analysis & post format! Looks like a really powerful card with some good synergies. I love the unique name and artwork as well.
