A Rather Entertaining EMPowerplay Combo
Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
This week's Community Engagement Challenge is to share about powerful card combinations and unstoppable synergies that I use to dominate the battlefield, so I decided to go with some EMPOWERPLAY
combo that is made possible by using the Rebellion Archon, Elias Max Pruitt while playing under the Are You Not Entertained? ruleset.
While this play will not be achieved all the time because it will require both the Archon and the ruleset present, I am sure that the battles that I'm about to show you are the very definition of a powerplay combo, and I'm sure will entertain you.
Are You Not Entertained? Then Let Me Entertain You.
Among the available rulesets, Are You Not Entertained? is the only ruleset that allows players to use a Gladiator Card in the battle, which is the complete opposite to most of the ruleset that usually placed a restriction on what card players can choose. Meanwhile, a Gladiator Card is a special soulbound card that are typically played mostly during Guild Brawls and requires a player to be a member of a guild.
What makes a Gladiator Card special is that they have the Bloodlust ability. This ability grants the unit +1 on all of its stats for every monster that it defeats, making it more unstoppable, the longer it stays in the battle. In this post, I have two different battles to show you to illustrate how powerful some of these Gladiator Cards can be.
My EMPowerplay Lineup
After analyzing the active ruleset, the next important thing is to decide which Archon to use and how it will synergize with the team that I have in mind, in consideration of its mana cost and the abilities that it can give to the unit cards. And for the play that I had in mind, Elias Max Pruitt just fits the criteria perfectly.
As an Archon, Elias Max Pruitt has the global ability to give +1 melee damage and armor to all ally units, which not only strengthens my cards but also gives them additional protection. Aside from that, it can give both Armored Strike, which allows cards to do a melee attack using their armor, and Piercing, which applies the excess damage in the target's armor to their health.
As you can see, I used two different Gladiator cards in each of my battles, both of which are melee units with a decent amount of armor. And along with the global stats that Elias Max Pruitt gives, these two cards become stronger even before the battle starts. Include the tactics ability, and they were able to inflict devastating damage.

Spoiler Alert: If you can't wait to watch the battle, you can just click on the link above each card.
The two battles shares the same starting lineup with Silverblade Fighter in the 1st position that gives +2 armor from its Protect ability and Commander Goff at the 3rd position that increases melee attack with Inspire. Usually, I will go and give the tactics ability to Commander Slade, but not when I can use Gladius Cards.
Battle Showcase
EMPowerplay 1: Isgald Vorst
In this battle, I gave the tactics ability to Isgald Vorst since it has the Opportunity ability and can effectively attack the opponent unit that has the lowest health, and given its combined damage, it was almost impossible for the target to survive. At the same time, for every opponent that it defeats, all of its stats will be boosted by 1, making it just more powerful every turn that it attacks. Buring the battle, it gains +5 stat boost, meaning that it has defeated 5 cards and has a combined damage of 23 from its melee attack and Armored Strike damage.

EMPowerplay 2: Relenor Cleaver
For this next battle, though, I used Relenor Cleaver and gave it the tactics ability, and while it does not have the Opportunity ability, thanks to the Equal Opportunity ruleset, it was able to attack in any position and target the opponent with the weakest health. In terms of speed, Relenor Cleaver is slower, and thus, I have added cards that will help increase its speed. Similar to the first battle, it becomes unstoppable and at the end of the round, it gains 3 stat boost, meaning it was able to defeat 3 units while the its combined damage was 29

Closing
At the end of the day, these were just some niche rule sets, so I can't always use the same lineup as I please. But, boy, oh boy! How satisfying it is to see Gladius cards wreck my opponent's team and grow stronger in the process. Truly, an entertaining #powerplays using Elias Max Pruitt and Gladius Cards.
Oh, by the way, just got to find this amazing Isgald Vorst soundtrack from the Splinterlands project, SplinterVibes so just want to share it here. Lots of other cool soundtracks to listen to.
Thank you and see you on the next post!
