Showing Up Every Day: A Powerful Weapon For Sucess on Hive

avatar

Hello everyone,

I ended up putting multiple posts yesterday, I finally wrote how about my personal development and how I'm on a path to self-discovery.. I talked about how I plan to resume my super active life again. The truth is I've always been like "I'm back"... But in reality, I'm just coming to go again.

I'm not going to dive fully into that as I already wrote about it yesterday. Just thought to put it out that I've taken the right steps in resuming that life again!

I would resume my "5 Hive Question Show" soon, I have great guests coming up, I also resumed the Weekend Engagement for nigerians >>> We have close to 200 comments already!

There is one more step that I want to talk about in this post. It's about "Showing Up Everyday". I believe it's a weapon for success.

Hurry! Fly through obstacles everyday-Pixabay

What does it mean to Show Up every day?

Showing up every day is how you go about your daily activities. It is a demonstration of passion and focus. On Hive, showing up every day is about how you make posts, comment, curate, e.t.c. Showing up every day doesn't mean just going to work every day or just logging daily on Hive. Showing up means being truly present and active every day.

Shangela, An actress who is famous for competing on RuPaul's Drag Race said "Life is about putting forth your best effort and showing up. When you show up to the gig fearlessly and put forth your best, who knows what could come of it?"

@taskmaster4450, A top writer on the Hive Blockchain, in my interview with him spoke about about "showing up every day"

"If you want to be serious (with Hive), if you want to post an article a day, post an article a day, no excuses. If it's 11 O'clock and you are getting ready for bed, put aside going to sleep and post your article"

(Time stamp 7:45) 5 Hive questions with samostically

I was speaking to @schamangerbert for the first time and the first thing I asked was "How".... How do you and @stayoutoftherz organize chess tournaments every Friday and Saturday on the blockchain for years? It's incredible because they have has done it consistently for 4-5 years! The chess community is a small one so sometimes there are very few participants which can be very discouraging. Yet, they keep doing it.
I ran the Hive-Naija Engagement initiative on Hive for 30 weeks and I stopped for a month for no solid reason.

Many others show up here every day constantly posting and curating. It's a difficult task at first, but it gets easier.

A Quick look at Hivebuzz showed me some interesting stats.

I have posted every day in a week 18 times and in a month just once! @arcange, it would be nice to get a badge for comments daily, and monthly streaks.

Anyway, this shows that I can do better and gain more influence. Writing every day not only helps me get better at writing but also helps me build my knowledge in a lot of areas.

You can Never go Wrong Writing on Hive

Hive rocks!

Just like shangela said, "who knows what could come of it". As long as you put so much effort into it, you would be rewarded. That's the beauty of Hive, it allows you to be noticed. If you show up every day, it's like a renewal. You get another chance to build relationships, grow your audience and earn too.

I had a lot of growth both financially and mentally when I showed up every day on Hive. Recently, I was talking about how grateful I am to Hive because of the help I received during my loss. I wondered how I would have survived if there was no community like this.

There is a loving community with increasing members daily, how do you get into the limelight? It is simply by showing up every day.

Habit Formation

To show up every day consistently we must form habits. Habit formation is the process by which behaviors become automatic. For example, I tend to play bullet chess online anytime I'm stucked in traffic or during short breaks. Even when I'm sad and want to do nothing, I find myself playing.

During my university days, I got up every morning to jog because it was compulsory for athletes (even though all I did was play chess). Even after school, I just can't stop it. It's already a habit.

I believe the first step to creating habits is by forcefully doing things repeatedly. Force it till it becomes a habit. Write every day if you want to, especially those times when it feels so inconvenient, and always make sure you put in the effort.

In conclusion...

It is as simple as the header, showing up every day is a sucesss weapon. It just can't fail you, especially on Hive where there are a lot of communities to get involved in. Opportunities are everywhere but you would only find them if you show up daily.

I would end this post with an old quote from Woody Allen

"80 percent of success in life is just showing up."

it would be nice to get a badge for comments daily, and monthly streaks.

I had a discussion about it with the HiveBuzz team. It might sound like a good idea. However, we like our badges to have value and there are also plenty of bots that post comments every day as well. We'll think about it a bit more.

Seeing people show up everyday here amazes me. This is good and I admire people that manage to make posts everyday and actually keep up with it.
I unfortunately have a bad track record on this because I can't seem to actually make it work.
Learning to post consistently is difficult but I'm very willing to put in the work. Like you said it's difficult at first but hopefully I'll do it often enough that it becomes a habit and not doing it feels wrong.
Thanks for this post🙂

The truth is I've always been like "I'm back"... But in reality, I'm just coming to go again.
This has been my reality for the past few months for real. I'm quite tired of myself at this point.

Force it till it becomes a habit. Write every day if you want to, especially those times when it feels so inconvenient, and always make sure you put in the effort.

I'd take your advise for it. Hopefully, I do things differently this time. Thank you for this beautiful piece.
