Beautiful friday to you my people.

How are you all doing today? Last week, we joined in celebrating Hive 2nd Birthday. We also discussed about @spknetwork. I believe we all learnt a thing or two about how the network runs. Also, I believe alot of us have claimed our Larynx Miner tokens for this month. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.

Thank you all for sharing your lovely opinions.

Topic Of Discussion - "Hive Naija"

20220325_192451.jpg

Two days ago,the @hive-naija community celebrated it's 2nd year on the Hive Blockchain. I believe that we should celebrate it here too. So this weekend, let's talk about the "Hive Naija community"
I'd drop some questions below. These questions should facilitate a good discussion for the weekend.

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

Feel free to ask more questions relating to the topic in the comment section.

Let the discussion begin....

For this week, I'd be tagging the leaders of the community so they can watch out for comments. Feel free to tag them if you know them too.

@belemo, @nonsowrites, @mistakili

Of course I know of the community. I do try my best to be active there but there are instances i forget or miss my alarm. Also, the lack of participation on the community can be discouraging. Yet, there are others who don't fail. I'm also a culprit to not being a participant to all telegram meetings. I'm mostly tired on Sunday evenings.

I think we are all guilty of not participating, sadly enough.

It needs to change though. The Nigerian Community should be thriving on Hive. I do accept the idea of new leaders. Perhaps the leadership board needs new directives

0

Well, the thing about changing leadership is that who would want to take over?

Leadership thing is Nigeria is all about money 😂😂😂... Na joke ooo..

Its not easy to take responsibility sometimes without some salary or added advantage... The thing no easy..
I don't even have the quality of a leader, just following anyone that's ready to lead because I often feel that I won't do better than him when am in his position.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Fact!.. Da feeling, it definitely not easy
😂
Whoever is leading is the best candidate

0
0

Factssss @monica-ene

I'd rather be a support system to the leader than be the actual leader. There's nothing easy about leading.

0

Oya send me private message na. Everybody that wants to be a support system, I'll get y'all busy

0

0

0

Hahaha with the look of things now sef, there no money to chop na full time sacrifice maybe it can pay later

0
0
0.000
avatar

So when it pays, people don't realise how much efforts the leaders put it.....
That's how Hive works generally. You see some (400 words) posts with $200 and some 4000 words with ($3). What do you think is the cause?

0
0
0.000
avatar

E say??? Yo don't have qualities of a leader? 😂... Abeg come and lead this place so that you will have experience

No salary, no added advantage, just criticism now and then.

When I was hustling for the weekly rewards, someone went to complain that I was being partial.

Crazy thing is, I'm exempted from receiving rewards o. In a bid to be as fair as possible. Just doing it for the love of it but people still dey vex.

0

0.000
avatar

I agree. But trust is important. I didn't create the community. At this point, I'm only allowed to share posting keys because the money in the community wallet is important.

I'm legit ready to step down for anyone who has the time to handle the community better.

It's not easy to be a leader ohhh.
He who wears the shoes knows where it is hurting.
You are doing great, I just think you need more support on the curation end and that's absolutely not your fault.
Hive get as e be! @young-boss-karin

I need to start rallying for people to support with rewards. I was just tired of toasting men every week to release their money.

Looks like I'll have to start doing it again. Once we get weekly rewards the engagement will come. Hive is all about money these days.

Yet, there are others who don't fail. I'm also a culprit to not being a participant to all telegram meetings. I'm mostly tired on Sunday evenings.

I share this exact struggle with you.

It's just a few minutes. But remembering and knowing what exactly to do every week isn't easy.

0

Why not plan your activities then? I do that every night before bed. I align what I need to do according to their priorities and then, I take my phone, set alarms on each one. The alarms blare when I need go focus on something else. Trust me it helps. You just have to discipline yourself not to snooze the alarm 😂

0

Omo, I do that o. These days my activities can be pretty unpredictable. But I'm trying to get myself back in order.

I can relate and you are doing your best.
I feel we need to work on encouraging the entries of the weekly prompt it not compulsory it huge just a little to show they are recognized that way we get to have more entries and the community grows.

(Edited)

You are even trying well done.
How about maybe during the meetings suggestion should be made for the weekly prompt
Like maybe we have for the month of April education so we conclude in the meeting what part of education s we talk about every week all through April.
For the month of may maybe politics and we conclude every week what part of politics we talk about all through may
And maybe June economy and we conclude every week what part of economy we talk about..e.t.c
What do you think?

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Yes, I'm very much aware of @hive-naija our dear Nigeria community

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Honestly speaking, I have not started posting there, even though I do stop by once in a while to support those authors who post there.

Q3. Why don't you post in the
community?
No tangible reason I guess,

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

I suggest we support the community leaders more by delegating hive power to the account, even as low as 10hp from lots of us here will go a long way in curating posts in the community. As we all know, more voting value and voting power will entice more people to the community.

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

I will focus more on driving engagement to the community. That way, we get to grow more and attract more people.

Happy weekend everyoneuntitled.gif is been a while I stop by here.

0

Delegating HP is very necessary, I think we could try to do that if possible, no matter how little.

0

Yes, untitled.gif

Let the community hold lot of hp and see the activities spike up.

0

I think that the delegation thing is a good idea.

I once delegated but took it back.

Maybe more people can, I don't know sha because even though you say this, not everyone will.

0

Yes you really made a nice point of delegating Hivepower..it is a nice suggestion

Thank you for agreeing with my point, if we don't support and build the community together, no one will.

0

Yes o, we all will post our support we are proudly Nigerians we can't leave our own community

0

I think if it's impossible to delegate, we can join the curation trail. What do you say to an election ???? We get to run campaigns 😂

0

Nobody wanna take leadership, my dear

0

Will you accept the role or make I change am for you?

(Edited)

I think if it's impossible to delegate, we can join the curation trail. What do you say to an election ???? We get to run campaigns 😂

Another correct point.

Also, community members should be tagged in the weekly prompt. That's one way we'll know a new topic is up.

0
0
0.000
avatar

I don't thing that's necessary. Community members should make it a duty to check their hivenaija community for prompts which are always released every monday. That's where you actually do the building as members

0
0
0.000
avatar

Exactly, curators are needed in other to uncourage authors to br active in the community

0
0
0.000
avatar

I suggest we support the community leaders more by delegating hive power to the account, even as low as 10hp from lots of us here will go a long way in curating posts in the community.

This is not a bad idea at all.
Nice thought!

0
0
0.000
avatar

I agree with that delegation thingy. Make our post for hive naija for dey get correct money. untitled.gif

0
0
0.000
avatar

Yes I know there is a hive-naija community. I barely post in the community because of the low engagements there. This is an issue because this will continually affect the community's growth and recognition. However, I will suggest that the administration begin a tactical approach to making it lively. Post prompt questions every week, encourage people to post their quality contents and ensure to curate frequently. People love to see curations. so if they realize that hive-naija community curates frequently, it will make them to be interested and active in the community. Enforce a rule of supporting each other's posts. That is one of the fastest ways to build the community.

0
0
0.000
avatar

The hive Naija community does prompts every week though, I guess most people don't notice it, even me most weeks.

0
0
0.000
avatar

I guess most people don't notice it
That's it. I don't notice it too.
They need to do more to make people aware of it

0
0
0.000
avatar

Well, that is a bit hard though but I guess checking the community, you would see it.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Just follow their page. It's not hard to miss when you follow

0
0
0.000
avatar

Sometimes I do notice the engagements but feel reluctant to participate because of minor encourage I get

0
0
0.000
avatar

Encouragement in upvotes or what?

0
0
0.000
avatar

Yeah
Encouragement in upvotes

0
0
0.000
avatar

Well, the community is still going, and there isn't enough to upvote I think.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Yes o when i did the challenge of hive celebration, the support there low but I can't give up na, that Country community....hahahahaha.
But i think we all can make the community grow

0
0
0.000
avatar

I think we also don't do our parts. If we want quality engagements, we should engage as well. The Administrators can't force anyone. Also, if the administration would weild power, they need the people. It all sums up to delegation and joining the curation trail.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Is it everyone that knows the benefits of joining citation trail?
How about they really do a post and explain what people should know

0
0
0.000
avatar

The benefits of joining a curation trail has been explained. If I'm not mistaken you're on the WhatsApp curation trail are you not? Did @readthisplease and @hironakamura And @onwugbenuvictor Not explain???

The benefits are maximum rewards. You get rewarded. As simple as that

Not me but others.

0

0.000

Yes. A few Nigerians on Hive Naija have joined a curation trail. The trail is basically a group of people investing Hive power in one body with the responsibility to distribute rewards

People love to see curations. so if they realize that hive-naija community curates frequently, it will make them to be interested and active in the community.

This is true.
However, the issue is how can we drive quality curation to the community?

0
0
0.000
avatar

By curating only quality posts. If you make that a rule, people will be forced to want to post in the community.

0
0
0.000
avatar

Only if people make quality posts. I've perused the Hivenaija community. Most times the post lack quality contents, catchy vibes and indepth information.

Good observation. The admins should see to that too

0

The admins can't see to the kind of post people decide to make. They can only decide to not curate. Making quality post is left to the members.

So HIVE NAIJA PEOPLE ... abeg try de construct quality post 😂
(No be like say all of them go see am o🙄)

The admins should step up their game. Sacrifice by curating for straight one week. The way people will rush this community eh

0

Yeah
This makes a lot of sense.
To whom much is given much is expected.

So if you want good rewards, make quality posts.

We have weekly prompts the issue is rewards.

Since we stopped giving rewards people stopped taking the prompts seriously. I'll try to figure out a way to start giving rewards again but it's sort of hard getting people to release their funds free like that.

It's not really an easy task but it will definitely help in getting the community back to fit if there will be a way out weekly .

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Yes I do, it was one of the first communities I joined coming to hive.

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Sadly, I haven't posted there in months, my content revolves around a whole lot of other things and I haven't figured out how to blend them and the hive naija community.

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

Like I said, mostly because my content fit better in other communities, I know I could probably try to blend it, but I haven't tried to.

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

Well, I guess making the community centered around topics that more people outside the Nigerian sphere could relate to would help.

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

I don't think I am leader material but, biggest impact I could do would be bringing eyes to the community.

This can be done by talking to other leaders of other communities and suggesting something together.

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

yes I do.....

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

I use to post regularly but now I barely post there, but some reason I posted there today.

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

No engagement and the love is not reciprocated..i take my time to tag hive naija on any post that has a touch of naija just for awareness sake and I never get a comment or upvote from them.i engage often in various post made in the community but never get any response from the members back.

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

do better, because I can come up with many ways we can change or improve but even when it's implemented nothing would be different if all parties involved do not do better. I understand running the community is voluntary and time consuming but delegate roles, and just do better.

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

I cannot start making promises like Nigerian government, and I won't want to disappoint like them too but I know in whatever role I find myself as a leader I give it my best and ensure positive result only comes out from my regime.

I think the reply is necessary but it would take more people stepping to keep up with the replying.

Also, I don't think hive Naija has even hp to even upvote so that is also something we need to know.

Even the 2 cents go a long way from time to time. It just shows “they see us and they care” if they don't upvote with the little how will they upvote with much when they eventually have..u get it? Yh

This is solely from my end o,maybe they have criteria for upvotes. besides I have come to understand its just 2 people handling the community so I completely understand having to handle their page and the community.

0

I understand what you mean, but I heard they also get curie to upvote and yes, it's just two people handling the community and I think right now, it needs more hands.

I am sure there are lots of capable hands ready to help, the thing is no one will just make a move and volunteer to help, if no one is saying where and how they can render the help...you get??

If the vacancies are created with job descriptions i am sure hive naija would get lots of volunteers.

For instance i saw the post by ecotrain community asking for volunteers to fill some roles and i noticed 80% of the volunteers taken were nigerians..

Maybe a post is needed because I know that they have asked for help various times in the meetings and all that but yeah, I grab what you mean.

I also noticed that regarding prompts, most Hive Naija members don't adhere to the rules.

Who can we delegate roles to when people aren't ready to take up leadership roles?

For your number 3 answer, I think I'm at fault there. It's hard sometimes paying attention to a community where you're doing free work when you need to also get your finance in order too. Do forgive.

TGIF(Thank God it is Friday), am happy to be here..
Happy weekend

Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Yes i do, i saw it on hive while searching for communities and decided to join my Country community

How Frequent do you post in the community?

I do post in the community but not always but i frequently add them to my tags when i post.

Why don't you post in the community?

I do post, even in there 2 year anniversary challenge i posted, i do some of their post challenge. But sometimes my post fit in other communities and i decide to post there

What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

I think the communities should connect with more Nigerians, hive is filled with Nigeria.
There should be a contest at least once a week. The discord group should also grow and there should be support from newbies who tag or post in the community.

If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

I would connect with Nigeria in hive.
Have meet ups in different states
There are current situation that is happening in our country like strike, selection, inflation, there should be discussion at least once every week of what is happening in our country

There are prompts there every week though, we just don't realize it.

We also had meetups this year o. We want to have another one thanks to the success of the last one but it has to be around the end of the year.

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Fully aware of it.

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Not as frequent.

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

Honestly, I have communities where I get more engagement.
So I just stick to those communities.

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

-Get more support for the Hive Naija community, so quality posts are rewarded.

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

As a leader of the community, my impact would be to get a whale or whale(s) to give consistent support to members of the community with quality posts in order to encourage more people to post there.

To the individual, my advice would be to be everywhere if you have the time to, as this would bring more attention to your post regardless of whatever community you post in.

The system is structured in a way in which the reward system is highly more subjective than merit-based (the quality of post).

P.S: I am not gunning to be a leader as I have a lot on my plate already.
These are just my suggestions to the hypothetical question.

0

Oshey our next leader right here, cmon!!!

But yeah, everything you say is true, I think most of us are already in more rewarding communities.

I don't think it would be easy to get a whale though that's the thing.

It is not but anything is possible with the right relationship and connection.

0

But how would you get the whales to notice the community? I think we should first start from the people's mindset. Only when we are active can we attract outter support.

I agree with getting involved. Even just thirty minutes in the HiveNaija community can do wonders. Also, the people should stop for a moment to really access the quality of their posts. Other communities thrive on quality and unique posts.

0

0.000
avatar

But how would you get the whales to notice the community?

Lol. Whales are human beings.
With the right connection and relationship formed.

I think we should first start from the people's mindset.

People will still not post if there is no incentive to.

Also, the people should stop for a moment to really access the quality of their posts.

Yeah, that is why I stressed on quality posts being rewarded.

0

avatar

Yeah. The community isn't rewarding enough. All out whales have deserted us. I think it's mostly my fault. I haven't been very serious with my activities there.

I'm open to assistance if you can give it. I can be very lazy sometimes and who knows, having you on the leadership team would give me the ginger I need.

Are you up for it?

I'm open to assistance if you can give it. I can be very lazy sometimes and who knows, having you on the leadership team would give me the ginger I need.

Oh love, I try not to turn down responsibilities to help but currently If I take this up, it will suffer because of how much stuff I have to handle offline.

Alternatively, I don't mind giving my support whenever required.

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Nor really frequent, I post in the community once a while

0

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

Basically, posting in a community requires how often the community is engaging her people.
Also engaging in a community whereas there is no encouragement as such from the community.
No better upvotes for quality content and so.

That is part of the reasons I see myself not posting in the community

Well
I agree when some of us said they don't participate because they don't know when there an engagement topic is dropped.

But I want to say this.. Do we know we will keep checking the community for engagement or better still try and know the actual moment the community drops her engagement if there is a better up vote.
But since it the other way round we just ignore the community

All I am saying is majority of us are guilty of not participating in the community

Today's topic came a bit late and Nigeria's match no make me concentrate.
Hive naija? of course I know of this community there was a time I was very active in the community and the Sunday meeting but then don't know what went wrong all of a sudden no more weekly prompt it lasted for some weeks not until the weekly prompt resumed few weeks back
Lost morale and stopped participating.
With this topic from the weekend engagement it should revive my morale to participate.

I'm really interested in the outcome of today's discussion. I hope it helps us improve the community.

Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

I'm aware of the community right from my 1st day on hive.

How Frequent do you post in the community?

Not too frequent. I think I've participated in 2 prompts in the past. I usually enjoy the prompts because the topics are easy to relate with.

Why don't you post in the community?

I do post there but not often because the engagement and reward isn't really encouraging.
Curating posts too would have been encouraging but that's not frequently done.

What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

The leaders, especially @samostically have been doing well. I think the community will be better if more hands are added to the leaders.

If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make

Well..... Being a leader is a lot of sacrifice. Kudos to those on board currently. They are doing really well. Sincerely, I may not be able to handle being a leader currently. Maybe I will in the nearest future.

I'm really interested in the outcome of today's discussion. I hope it helps us improve the community.

This is my exact feeling on this.

This is an engagement topic that I think needs to be truly looked at as it bothers on our home community.

I think the feedbacks should be taken and looked into, so we can see how all of us can play a role to drive things forward in this community.

Okay, maybe I should gather the strength to do this before I miss out of sending my thoughts about hive Naija.

I know about hivenaija community since the year I joined hive but to be sincere I can say that I made no more than 2-5 post throughout those years and the reasons are not far fetched.

Hope I do not get my head chopped off after spilling them.

  • A major reason I don't post in the community is this Nigerian situations of underdevelopment, it saddens me to think of the word Nigeria and that attitude makes me feel like what should I post in the community self... Is it to talk about the bad things happening that keeps wrecking someone's emotions.
I have kind of passed that physical aggression feeling I had for this country into the community( Really sorry to say that even though this is a beautiful hive community that didn't offend me).

Thanks to this engagement activities I felt lighter about the situations and can talk and relate with quality Nigerian of like mind. Else it will be challenging for me to come around the community.

  • Not coming around hive Naija means that I don't offer enough support to fellow Nigerian hivers and am not alone in this.
Bloggers can come around a community when they don't get the support they need both in kind comments and upvotes, appreciating someone's work will make them to do more.
We lack this large number Nigerian hivers with enough hive power to vote and support others, its good to diversify your hive earnings like most of us do, but do we at least have the mind to power up something substantial to support other Nigerian hivers.
To be candid we have Nigerian bloggers with years of their stay on hive who have not kept upto 3k hp for curatting even though they have the right to do whatever with your hive earnings.

  • Another factor that pisses me off supporting hive Naija member is this simple term of trying to measure up.
Imagine I visit your blog as Nigerian newbie, follow you up, try to curate and help you out and the next thing is you start talking about my wallet, estimating how much you think I have....
( Pls let's try to stop it it doesn't help in any way).

Be patient enough to follow the process, have spent years here and with medications and other, you can't earn that in one day and trying to measure up will piss me off your blog.

People aren't willing to invite fellow Nigerians to hive because of this attitude. You don't want to tell your neighbors about hive cause you are unsure how their reactions about what you earn here will be, meanwhile you just want to help them.

Some newbies want to earn the exact sum of votes @starstrings earns on their first blogs, how on earth is that even possible them know watin him eye don see 😂😂😂.. ( sorry for the mention sir).

Others will ask you to teach them how you generate your content to earn such upvote... Content creation isn't everyone's gift, but can be developed over time, so be patient enough, follow whoever is ready to assist you and wait for your time...

I hope that with these few points of mine I have been able to confuse and not convince you that... I don tire to type if you can relate with any of these things I have said,... Thanks for the long read, I just poured out how I feel about the community... Make wuna no vex.

The way forward could be to address some of these issues and many others...

Wow, this is crazy.

So people actually do this?

I mean it’s one thing to have a transparent system on the chain where everyone can easy see your wallet on your profile but it’s simply offensive and a lack of common sense for someone to actually start discussing what someone has with them because for all you know, my funds might be externally generated and not from my blogging.

I appreciate the works of you Sam and Starstrings around here, I’m not half as good as you guys in these things, but I’m willing to try and work with everyone to get some orderliness.

I also appreciate Nonsowrites, Karina and Belemo who’s mostly behind the scenes pulling strings, I think we can do better even though I’m not sure how, I’ll keep thinking about it.

I don’t know anything about organizing stuff, the ones I’ve tried have been awful, but you see this computer tin, make we gather explore how we go take make 10$ into 100$ na my own, it is my pleasure to teach everyone a-z! My core is blockchain and crypto matters, you’ll always find me there, so I apologize for not always posting and engaging enough myself on hive naija blog, that’s something I have to fix as well.

We need to communicate more, we need to use the avenues available to us, telegram, Twitter spaces, discord.

Big ups to the current leadership team.
It’s really not as easy to run anything.

You made mention of organization and my mind goes to having sort of a weekly structured plan for the community members. A lot of ideas come to mind but this is a good suggestion.

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Yep

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Every week I think

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

I do

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

Well, people need to participate more. There's no funding for contests that attracts people but that shouldn't stop us from engaging here. It's supposed to be a fun community where we relate with each other as Nigerians and not just scouting for rewards and upvotes.

We don't have dolphins or whales amongst us but how about making friends and rising together?

The community leaders also need to meet up to discuss roles, it makes the job easier.

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

I already do what I can in the community by curating and engaging with the official account. If specific roles were assigned, I'd do better. I also run the twitter account which can do better if only more Nigerians would engage.

Hopefully there would be engaging content that will interest people.

And @samostically, thanks for your weekend engagement. Being a Hive-Naija community leader would look good on you. What do you think?

@samostically, I second this, you would be a great leader.

Also, you are right mehn, regardless of what we get, we need to help build the community.

Honestly, yeah. The engagement is not encouraging.

My issue is that I barely engage based on community, I do base on the people I follow and their reblogs.

I guess I need to be more intentional.

We don't have dolphins or whales amongst us but how about making friends and rising together?

No truer words.

Actually this is a really good mindset.
If we can form a strong team as Nigerians, there is a greater chance for all of us to do really well.

Only the engagement alone can attract eyes to our respective pages over time.

How smart Precious 😊😊😊

To be frank this an interesting topic you brought up this weekend
I sure believe I don't really fits so well in the conversation because I barely know people here and how the administration works based on curation and rewards, though I've go through many comments

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Yeah, few weeks after joining hive (though It not been long for me on hive)

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Actually since I joined I've posted as much as possible

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

My last post was few day ago, but I think I have unconsciously abi consciously decided to rarely post here. Sorry to say that but the lack of love and interest in engaging on people post is alarming, can you imagine taking your time to create quality post not even a person will comment on it, I'm not talking about the rewards now, I many members here don't have time to go through posts of other members, if not most posts won't go unnoticed.

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

I don't know if this community is among the ocd incubation program, but I guess it will help alot of we join.
Another one is to delegate gate roles to people, a tree can't make a forest, no matter how good the admins here are there's still need for extra hands cus they're humans
I'm not on the #hive-naija discord server.
But I guess, creating a curation feed is very important, from there admins with curation roles (curators) can forward it and members gat to see post on curation and support accordingly
Lastly, criteria for curation should be restated, nothing kills vibes especially for quality contents, like a post to go unnoticed for a whole 7 days

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

I can promise going for leadership though, because of my space here offline, mostly tight, but I believe what that's worth doing is worth doing well.
I will get more hand to joining in the curation and following/engaging contents and their author. This is a social blog, not only weekly and prompts from admins should be engaged

I'm not talking about the rewards now, I many members here don't have time to go through posts of other members, if not most posts won't go unnoticed.

You are right. It's almost like people are not genuinely interested in one another.

I will get more hand to joining in the curation and following/engaging contents and their author. This is a social blog, not only weekly and prompts from admins should be engaged.

That's awesome. It is not just a weekly prompt community afterall.

I think it's because most people don't even check the community, that is why probably there is no engagement.

I think Soo anyways
But what about the admins manning the community, they too don't regularly check it too ??
If so, meaning many things has to be rearranged here for us to move forward

Well, the admins are just two and they also have their own lives, it isn't easy on them either.

I don't know if this community is among the ocd incubation program, but I guess it will help alot of we join.

This is definitely achievable.

It’s indeed a great idea.

It would involve some behind the scenes discussion with the owner of ocd and selling the Hive naija community as one where quality posts are made.

This invariably means that, we as community members need to step up our game and up the quality of posts we make, so they even meet curation standards.

Yea, you have a point here, but did you know that there's a lot of stuff to write relating to Nigeria as a country, both in politics, terrorism and agitations going on here and there, celebrity gist's, lifestyles here, culture, education, religious beliefs and activities here etc.
But the issue still remains that you cannot take your time to gather some useful stuffs up and at last no engagements no rewards.

So like you just said it's on all of us as a community to work on it
@young-boss-karin what do you have to say cus I believe as the admin, the work especially as this case of ocd incubation program, is more of the admins than the members.

I don’t dispute that the lack of engagement nor reward can dampen ones spirit.

However, people are more inclined to support you when they know you are consistent with quality.

They don’t just assume and support you. These things take time but we are all getting there.

Slowly but surely 😊😊

We had a long conversation yesterday and the community is going to get a lot more active in the next coming days.

We've gotten support from some Hivers and our weekly rewards are back. We're also looking out for ways to improve on the kind of content we allow on the community and help people improve on their writing as well.

We'll get better.
You can show support by delegating HP to the community account as well as taking part in the weekly prompt. It's up now so please check it out.

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Yes i do.

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

Not very frequent.

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

Honestly, i barely get response on the post. And no motivation to do it again.

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

I'd suggest having a team and moderators with good plans to make it alive. With games, challenges, competition, etc

Q5. If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

I would create a routine competition(bi-weekly), challenges, games. Always making sure the group is alive.

  1. Yes, I know there's a Hive Naija community.

  2. I post there a few times, not as often as I would want to though

3.Honestly, I don't think we support eachother enough in the community. You post and you're literally left in the streets(you dig?).

We all spend quality time creating content to post here, and not getting some sort of encouragement in form of engagement or upvotes dey make matter tire person sometimes.

4.Maybe create support groups, it could be on WhatsApp, or anywhere else, people post their links, get supported and do same for others. A curation trail perhaps? People will naturally go where they feel loved, welcomed or encouraged.

Plus,I just found out about a telegram group from @deraaa's comment here. A lot of things are happening in this community and I don't know Jack. I feel so left out ☹

5.Tough question. I would do my best to bring people together, find a way to bring the big goons in the community and newbies together.

No one would have to feel left out. As much as we are all here to learn and contribute to the Hive community, we're also here to earn, so, we help in any way possible, even if it means delegating HP to the community.

Plus I'd like to end this by saying a big thank you to @wolfofnostreet for leaving comments on my post as often as she can. @deraaa I see you engaging everywhere on Hive too. @reineesmay, you have no idea how much I look forward to your funny comments on my posts. I'd tag many others, but I'd just stop here for now.

Happy weekend guys.

Uncle Sam, the way this week's notification came appeared thrice on my messages I thought I won something ni...kikikikiki

Q1. Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Oh yes! I knew from day one of joining hive. I must say that I was impressed. But then again...naija nor dey carry last. We dey represent anywhere.

Q2.How Frequent do you post in the community?

I cannot categorically say how frequent but this question made me remember one funny thing I thought when I just joined hive and didn't know much about upvote or how the ecosystem here works.

As a newbee that year, I used to observe and rate different communities based on the up votes aka money made by the post there. Dear God forgive me for I judged hivenaija without even observing the activities there. My mind was like...my fellow Nigerians nor go give my post money based on how we take NEED our monies in this country. But I was wrong!
No1: You can't be stingy here because of the hive ecosystem. A true illustration of givers never lack! What you give comes back for sure.
No2: Hive naija have whales o. Accounts like @starstrings01 @nonsowrites @readthisplease @belemo @josediccus . If dem upvote you, just goan rest for the day!

Q3. Why don't you post in the community?

I dey post. This question nor be for me. Ngwannu @ariylove @ozal3 @nkechi @dubemkingsley wetin make una nor dey post for hive naija? Collect mic ko oro soke!

I want to answer the rest question but will do it in another comment when I son chop breakfast. I gat go fix something now.

Hi @funshee ! You see the dispatch rider wey I send to you?

A true illustration of givers never lack! What you give comes back for sure.

Indeed, givers never lack.
If you give your time through your engagement, helping others around, serving in communities etc.

That stuff does come back to you one way or another.

Q4. What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

The leaders of the community are doing great so far. I'd probably suggest they keep up the good works with the curation of post in the community. Trust me, nobody will take their quality post to where it won't be appreciated.

Good upvotes on quality post attract people to a community. Also a consistent engagement like this one with cool rewards does too. Kudos @samostically for your good job.

Q5. If you were made a Leader what Impact would you make?

Ah! I go dey dash money! Hehehehe.

Frankly speaking, I'd use give away to make people feel good. I like it when I'm able to make people around me smile just by the little and 'intangible' things I give.

But I truly get what you mean.
Giveaways are little incentives with great impacts.

We never know how much something so little can mean to the next person.

That’s a good one.
Also, I think you can start now.

I support people’s post with ecency points sometimes. I am not constant with it but I hope to do more as time goes on.

Do you know there is a Hive-Naija community?

Yes, I do.

How Frequent do you post in the community?

I seldom post here.

Why don't you post in the community?

I can't say for sure but I guess it could be because of the fact that the aura around those communities we all know aint here.. But the hive Naija weekend engagement is filling the gap at least for the weekend.

What do you suggest be done to move the community forward?

There are lots that needs to be done o. In terms of publicity, higher curations and activities from members to post in the community and non-members likewise.

If you were made a Leader, What Impact would you make?

First of all, who am I? I am just a fish in a big ocean. But I can pray for the leaders too, you know...😄🤣

Greetings, Nigerian community. I came to this initiative three weeks ago looking for engagement and commenting topics, as I am a comment curation project. Since the previous edition I have been mentioned by @samostically and I am happy about it as I like to support such initiatives. This week's is excellent as it probes into the opinions of the members and how they could solve some things. I have read and voted on some of the comments and have seen a lot of good ideas.

Since I notice that you miss initiatives to interact and get to know each other better, how about joining this TAg that I started 4 days ago? You can post if you like here @hivenaija, no need to go elsewhere, this way you give more life and interaction to your community.

This TAg has had a lot of receptivity in the Hispanic community (which is my main target audience) and maybe to interact a little more outside of Africa and connect with Hispanic America, would not hurt, it can give you visibility.

I formally invite @samostically and of course the leaders of this community: @belemo, @deraaa, @khaleesii, @nonsowrites, @wolfofnostreet, @joven-jefe-karin, as well as @prechidi, @omosefe, @khaleesii and @monica-ene from whom I read very good comments and valuable ideas.

PS: the TAg post is in Spanish, but nothing that a good translator can't solve. hahaha. Ohalá you are encouraged to participate. I'm waiting for you.

Feel free to answer these questions and post them from the Hive Naija community or from my community, whichever you prefer. It would be interesting as this way you can interact with more people within Hive and explore other latitudes. You can answer in English, no problem. You can answer it in several publications and even select some questions, it is not necessary to answer them all. It is just an initiative that invites you to tell some aspects of our relationship with Hive. If you still have doubts, you can express them to me and I will continue to guide you.
