The scientific side of chocolate and my experience.
Assalamu Alaikum, how are you all. I hope everyone is well by the grace of Allah. Today I shall tell you some of my ideas on eating chocolate. All people, young and old, love chocolate in one way or another. It is not only sweet, but there are certain scientific things concealed in it and would help our body. Chocolate, more so the dark chocolate has a high concentration of antioxidants according to scientific analysis. These assist in the minimization of the bad free radicals in the body. Consequently, the damage to the cells is somehow decreased and the heart may stay in a healthy condition. Moreover, dark chocolate can be useful in maintaining blood pressure as well as enhancing blood flow. It has flavonoids that to some extent prevent heart disease. Another fact is that the theobromine and a slight amount of caffeine in it stimulate the brain that is why it makes the mood better and makes the person more eager to work.
But, one thing should not be forgotten that not every form of chocolate is so good. Sugar and fat are present in a large quantity in milk chocolate or white chocolate that are present in the market. Excessive consumption of them may lead to weight gain, tooth cavities and even diabetes. It is therefore quite crucial to be moderate in the consumption of chocolate. In particular, it is better to eat chocolate in small portions, especially dark chocolate. So now we will come to my experience. I am a chocolate lover since my childhood. When I aced a test or got chocolate on my birthday I was not limiting the euphoria. To this day, whenever I am in a bad mood, I can always eat a piece of chocolate and everything feels much better. One day though I used to consume plenty of chocolate to the extent that my teeth would become sore. Back then, I knew that although it is an enjoyable food it should not have an unending amount.
I am currently eating minimal dark chocolate one to two times per week. On one hand, it gives me a good feeling and, on the other hand, it has got the good effect on the body, as well. Nevertheless, I do not always make it a habit. In conclusion, I will mention that it is pleasant to eat chocolate and there are some scientific advantages. There is however a great likelihood of injury on excessive consumption. So, it is prudent to consume chocolate in a responsible and moderate way.
