Splinterlands Engagement Challenge
Hi splinter fam,
Welcome to my blog for another weekly dosage of spl content. Yesterday, I made an entry into the social media challenge and well it felt like a heavy load was lifted off my shoulders. For sometime now ive been trying all that I could to make posts but it seems I dont have the energy or should I say zeal to post. Well, we might also attribute that to thr market conditions.
Historically, people tend to shy away from posting when the price of hive is down. If thing continue to go down in this matter It'll only be a matter of time till the price of hive touches a cent. We saw it happen last month after the ridiculous crashing of the market. It was the heaviest and bloodiest blood bath in the history of market crashes.
But then this hasn't stopped some of us from playing spl daily. As much as i will like the price of sps to he aa high as it can right now I must also acknowledge that its not always going to be how we want it to be and what goes up will surely go down and vice versa as well.
Yesterday, I played a lot of games for the weekend even though ive not been able to complete my 100 games for the season. Its near by and with about 20 games more I would be well over that mark.
For this engagement challenge I will be talking about one of my games. This battle looked like a simple one cause I thought I was going to loose. Let's see It panned out.
In this battle the rulesets of the battle were unprotected; which means all units have 0 amor and cannot gain amor from any where. Next being arcane dampening; which means all units have void (50% less damage (rounded up) from magic attacks. This also means if that magic attack has 1 or less than one magic attack its damage is equal to 0.

And then fog of war; meaning that all units loss sneak, snipe and opportunity. This essentially only affects melee cards with the sneak, snipe and opportunity ability. I say this cause all other types of cards will have the ability to still attack from any position.
This was how I lined up for a game like this. Mind you, the mana for this game was low as 15. Having a mana of 15 makes it really hard to select cards for a game. But I did manage to get cards with low mana but very good attacks and health as well.
My first card was obviously going to be a one mana card in the name of halfing refugee. This card being one mana but having very good specs. It has 4 melee attack and8 health. It has the heal ability but the defect is the weary which makes it become exhausted in battle at times and dont attack.
Next was the meriput magician. A 5 mana magic card with 1 magic attack and i health. I specifically went for this card because of its healing abilities.
Lastly I was for calamity. The calamity is a new card which just came from conflicts. Its a low mana card but very dangerous. The only reason why I ever choose this card is because of its last stand ability. This is a crazy card at last stand. The only defect is that it has the electrified defect which makes it loose 2 health per round.
The summoner of choice was akane. This summoner is a dragon summoner which grant you the ability to use lookout of ambush for 2 of your card. Choosing the ambush was what definitely changed the tide towards my end.
With how good the opponents card were not having the ambush would have been disastrous for me.

Things took a scary turn but I was able to win at the end. You can watch how the battle unfolded in the link here.
