Splinterlands 6 Year Anniversary - The Spl Journey And Tips For Beginners.

Hi splinter nerds,
Welcome to my blog for an entry into the weekly Splinterlands social media challenge. This week we have the same theme as last week and I couldn’t be more excited. Am excited not because I have a lot to write about this topic but because this is an avenue to talk about some of the things that have helped us reach where we are in the game today.
Recently spl has been going through a lot of changes. While some are not happy with their changes, some of us are pretty optimistic that the thrill will get back to the game very soon.

With the reintroduction of loot chests in the game I think people will relive the thrill of opening chests. What we wish for is that they put SPS rewards back into those chests as they were back in the day.
A lot of people might not know but Splinterlands is the second thing that I have opened on my laptop whenever I am using it. These days the time I spend playing the game is way less than when I began playing it. The difference is that now I am more busier than before so this makes it hard for me to play. When I started playing about a year ago I was in school, as at that time there was literally 0 pressure on me so I could afford the luxury of time to play till whenever or play till my energy bar goes to 0.
There were times I could refill the energy bar 2 or 3 times in one day. To me, SPL was the easiest thing to do because I had so much time to play it.
Fast forward to now, I don’t have that time. Doing my service requires that I am on duty for 3 days. I leave the house early and come back late on most days. Even when I do come back early I can only play about 4 to 5 games before I go to bed so I can wake up early for the next day.

I am almost at a 1000 sps stake. Most of this is purely from brawling and playing in a wild and modern format. If I can remember properly that was my first goal when I started playing but now looking at this goal it looks so small probably because of how much Sps has fallen over the past months.
For now, my biggest achievement is being able to make it into Diamond in the wild league. The next aim is to make it into champion which I am sure I can do before this season ends.
The champion goal has been a goal that I had since last season when I made it into diamond. Making it into champion is not an easy feat and I am sure I can do it. The next SPS goal is 2k which am sure I won’t take a very long time to get to considering how low SPS is now. Sps being low is something I recently noticed so I hope I can make my gains while the prices are this low.
Strategy as I said in my last week’s post counts when playing spl. Yes, the thrill of earning as soon as you start playing has been on the back of all of our minds. But Spl is not that kind of game. Imagine it as you would with chess, can you just start playing chess and win? It doesn’t work that way. You need to learn and unlearn a lot of things as the game evolves. Even with games that don’t evolve, there are times you need to learn new strategies from certain players or veteran players. For me, it’s the same thing with Spl. You don’t just become a pro when you start playing. Even the pro players get beaten sometimes.

Concentrate on building your card collection. Playing with level one cards in the bronze league is easy but when you go higher even into bronze II it’s not going to be easy. You realise that you have the same cards with someone but they have different starts which plays a big role in how the game ends.
First of all, concentrate on taking your summoners to higher levels and then taking your cards to higher levels too. You don’t have to buy the cards but then you can rent them and still play with them. You don’t need to study the cards but you can simply copy someone’s playing style. Truth be told when I started playing it took me a long time to start using the martyr cards. I always thought they were a waste of my time until it was used on me a couple of times.
So the thing is don’t just concentrate on winning and earning.
Learn to play the game and while you win you earn it is as simple as that. You can’t always win games no matter who you are so at times you need to take a break so that the people you are paired against can change.
This is the little I have to say about Spl today.
