From Modern To Survival Mode( CA impact on my gameplay)

Welcome to m y blog for this week's dosage of splinterlands content. I call it dosage cause I consume splinterlands daily like its a drug. If am not playing a battle I am either reading tweets on X about pack opening or pack sales. One thing that I'll like to add is that the guys who talk about splinterlands on X do an amazing job. For beginners I don't think I can be like them. I have tried this content creation thingy but I think content creation is not for me lol. I have not given up though as I think I can force the issue. For now I am more of a consumer rather than a content creator especially when it comes to content creation on X.

Pre-sale and general sale for conclave arcana packs have successfully come to an end. If you are a regular user of X and see splinterlands content on a daily on X then you would know that a lot of people are opening their packs by now. I remember a few months ago the hype was all about getting gold foil (GF) cards but at the moment the hype is all about getting black foil (BF) cards. Yes, Bf cards are the new ish and they are expensive. Apart from its economical value they are good for building on land as well.

So now that conclave arcana has been successfully released it also means that chaos legion has successfully rolled out of modern into wild. I was expecting this role out to happen at the end of the season which was going to happen tomorrow but for some reason they didn't wait. Yes, so now we can only use conclave arcana cards and rebellion cards in modern play. The fact that chaos legion has been rolled out doesn't mean they can't be used anymore. They can be used inn brawls ( for the time being), tournaments, wild and also survival.

In fact, survival mode accepts all types of cards no matter how old they are. Survival 1.0 has been with us for a few months now and the team has announces that they will be pausing this phase so they could work on it better. They will invite reviews on how people saw the survival mode and also how they can improve it. I for one never really played survival mode as I don't have a lot of cards and wouldn't have wanted my cards cooldown if they were defeated. I did try it when it came out but I only played about 3 games. Yesterday I played more games in survival mode after chaos legion was rolled out of modern.

These are a few things that I liked when I played survival.

First of all the rewards you get when you play survival mode is different. You don't get glint for wins and you also don't get extra rating for a win streak. You only get sps for your win. But the sps per win is better than what you get in modern or wild. To put this in better context; I earn about 7- 9 sps per win in diamond III - diamond I in modern league. But when I made it to bronze II yesterday I was earning 1- 1.2 sps per win in survival mode. This can also translate to the fact that if I had made it into gold in survival mode I could potentially make more sps than I do in modern diamond.

Now there are various reasons why this is so. One of the reasons being it is more risky to play in survival mode as you can loose your card to cooldown and that card won't be available for days when it gets killed in battle. One other reason being the number of people in survival mode are way way less than the number of people playing modern.

I played a couple of games and I must say, for someone who has a lot of cards you'd definitely enjoy playing in survival mode. Survival mode makes it worth it for having many copies of a card.
