Good morning dear community, the truth is that the topic to be discussed today has to do with technology / Video Games / NFT, so it is quite broad aspect to comment, as you know this 2020 was definitely the year of the NFT, this being part of the success of the blockchain, of course the NFT can be presented in various ways but what determines it as such is its unique code that makes it an object of speculative value.

In the first cases the NFT was presented as a form of art showing GIF images and videos for sale which obtained their value from the price placed by the seller, after that appeared the NFT as an element within a video game, making an element within the game was the NFT, which made it unique or limited objects.

Were NFTs the first to trade in-game items?

No, traditional video games already had a long time with the sales of unique and transferable items within the same game, of course we are talking about competitive online video games, games like Lineage 2, Counter Strike among others, their communities already owe speculative values to their items.

The NFT as an element within the video game turns the objects into unique elements which can raise their value and profitability, which would become protected by the encryption of the blockchain.

That is why many of the traditional online video games of genres such as MMORPG FPS are looking closely how to integrate the NFT within their games, one of the first to take these steps has been Ubisoft, which due to the profit it has had in its investment with Axie intends to target once again the NFT but this time within its major titles.

Of course it cannot be hidden that there is a significant part that does not agree with this and have attacked the company for mentioning this in social networks, but I think the key is to develop new video games with quality NFT as they already do with Triple A games, integrating the competitiveness of the community, and the buying and selling of items in MMORPGs to create a stable economy within NFT.
