Keep Your Distance Ruleset | Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Splinterlands

avatar

Hello everyone, I hope everything is going well in your life. Welcome to my Battle Mage Secrets post. In this post, I will talk about the Keep Your Distance Ruleset.

Keep Your Distance Ruleset

In battles with the Keep Your Distance ruleset, Monsters with Melee attack may not be used. So monsters with Magic attacks or Ranged attacks can be used. Additionally, Monsters with 2 types of attack (which include melee) cannot be used.

It is quite effective to use Void Ability, Void Armor Ability, Phase Ability and Magic Reflect Ability to counter magic attacks.

It is quite effective to use Headwinds Ability, Return Fire Ability, and Shield Ability to counter ranged attacks. Additionally, extra armoring of friendly monsters against ranged attacks will give your team an extra advantage in battles. To give extra armor to friendly monsters, you can use the Protect Ability or Summoners that grant armor. Additionally, if you want to repair armor, you can include the Repair Ability in your lineup.

Additionally, the Amplify Ability increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns damage to all enemy monsters by 1. Therefore, using the Amplify Ability together with the Magic Reflect Ability is very effective against Magic Attack Monsters, and using it together with the Return Fire Ability is very effective against Ranged Attack Monsters. With these combos, you can make enemies suffer more.

Additionally, in battles with the Keep Your Distance Ruleset, many players, including me, include the Martyr Ability in their lineups. When a Monster with the Martyr Ability dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats. That's why I place great emphasis on including the Dispel Ability to my lineup to clear all positive status effects on enemy monsters.

Battle Ruleset

  • Silenced Summoners: Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
  • Keep Your Distance: Monsters with Melee attack may not be used in battles.
  • Target Practice: All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability.

MY STRATEGY & LINE UP

According to the rulesets of the battle, all Monsters will have the Snipe Ability, and Monsters with Melee attack will not be used in this battle. And Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities. In this battle, Monsters with magic attack and ranged attack can be used, therefore all monsters in the back line that do not have a special ability such as Scattershot will attack the Monster in the second position. I will determine my strategy accordingly.

The continuation of the strategy and my team's lineup is as follows;

LINE UP

Summoner : QUIX THE DEVIOUS

Due to the Silenced Summoners ruleset, it was not very important which summoner we would choose since all Summoners were silenced in this battle, however, choosing a Summoner with a high level and low mana cost will still provide an advantage. And we still need to choose the summoner of whatever unit(s) we will use. I chose Quix the Trick as the Summoner.

Position 1: MERDAALI GUARDIAN

In the first position, I put Merdaali Guardian with Tank Heal Ability. Merdaali Guardian does not have any attack power, but since it has the Tank Heal Ability, it will not be destroyed if it does not take more than 2 damage in a round and is not stunned. And I believed that my strategy would work well as long as the Merdaali Guardian could not be destroyed. The opponent player could use the Martyr ability in the first position and I thought this move would disrupt their strategy.

Position 2: VENARI MARKSRAT

In the second position, I put Venari Marksrat with Martyr Ability. Venari Marksrat will probably be the first to be destroyed on my team, and after it dies Djinn Oshannus and Merdaali Guardian will get +1 to all stats, which I believe will make my strategy work better.

Position 3 : DJINN OSHANNUS

In the third position, I put Djinn Oshannus with Void Ability and Phase Ability. After Venari Marksrat is destroyed, Djinn Oshannus will take the second position. Djinn Oshannus is a monster that can defend very strongly, especially against magic attacks, and also has the chance to evade both magic attacks and ranged attacks. Also, if my strategy works the way I want, it will be difficult to destroy Djinn Oshannus, who gets +1 to all its stats. I will also be adding 2 Monsters with the Triage Ability to my team, which will make it even harder to destroy Djinn Oshannus.

Position 4 : NERISSA TRIDAWN

In the fourth position, I put Nerissa Tridawn. Nerissa Tridawn does not have any abilities, but since it has 3 magic attacks and 9 health, I can say that I added it to my team. And I believed that Nerissa Tridawn would be of great help to the team in destroying the enemies.

Position 5: ANGELIC MANDARIN

In the fifth position, I put Angelic Mandarin with Triage Ability. Triage Ability heals the friendly back-line Unit that has taken the most damage by a third of max health, so my team's backline will not be easily destroyed. I will also add another Monster with the Triage Ability to my team.

Position 6: SPIRIT HOARDER

In the last position, I put Spirit Hoarder with Triage Ability and Dispel Ability. Although the most important reason for adding Spirit Hoarder to my team was the Triage Ability, I also believed that the Dispel Ability would be very effective in this battle. When a Monster with the Dispel Ability hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy. I would like to say that I used the Dispel Ability especially against enemies with increased stats in this battle.

Finally, I would like to say that I adjusted the position of the Monsters according to their abilities and health.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Round 1

At the beginning of the first round, Venari Marksrat with the Martyr Ability, who was in the second position on both teams, was destroyed. Riftwing had received +1 to all its stats, Spirit Hoarder with the Dispel Ability cleared all of its positive status effects. This is exactly why I love the Dispel Ability.

Round 2

In the second round, the enemies dealt 8 damage to Djinn Oshannus, 6 of them were healed thanks to the Triage abilities. Triage Abilities nullified most of the damage dealt by enemies, which is exactly why I attach great importance to including the Triage Ability in my lineup in such battles. Additionally, the opposing team lost Riftwing in the second round.

Round 3

While the opposing team had a hard time destroying Djinn Oshannus, the opposing team's Skok Duskblight was also destroyed. And now the opposing team's hopes of winning were about to disappear.

Round 4

In the fourth round, no monsters were destroyed, but Will-o-Wisp only had 1 health left, which meant that it would be destroyed in the next round. It was also notable that Djinn Oshannus still had 9 health at the end of the fourth round.

Round 5

At the beginning of the fifth round, Will-o-Wisp was destroyed and the opposing team no longer had any chance of winning. Zyriel's high health will only make the battle last a little longer.

Round 6

In the sixth round, Zyriel was also destroyed and only the Chaos Agent remained on the opposing team.

Round 7

And at the beginning of the seventh round, Djinn Oshannus destroyed the Chaos Agent and my team was able to win the battle.

The battle lasted 7 rounds and at the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 5 monsters on my team were still alive. Only Venari Marksrat from my team was destroyed, and its death was already part of my strategy. It was a pretty easy victory for my team, which shows that my strategy is working better. I can say that the opponent's team's inability to resist magic attacks and the fact that I use Djinn Oshannus with Void and Phase abilities in defense and 2 Monsters with Triage Ability made the battle easier to win. Additionally, it was notable that Djinn Oshannus was able to evade both magic and ranged attacks. That's why I prefer to use these abilities in battles with the Keep Your Distance Ruleset.

I wrote Quix the Trick instead of Quix the Devious somewhere in the article, I'm so sorry. The real name of the card is Quix the Devious.
