Desert Dragon's Incredible Performance and Card Review. Splinterlands Social Media Challenge!

Desert Dragon is a very powerful Dragons with very powerful abilities that can attack the target with Melee Attacks. Desert Dragon can attack the target very ruthlessly and can be very effective in battles when used with a good strategy. To be honest, I don't usually use it in first position due to its low health, but it can't attack while on the backline. That's why I don't use this card in every battle, but in battles with the Equal Opportunity Ruleset and the Melee Mayhem Ruleset, I use this card without hesitation. And indeed, it can be much more effective in such battles.

• Equal Opportunity : All Monsters have the Opportunity ability.
• Melee Mayhem : Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
• Opportunity Ability : Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.

Desert Dragon can attack from any position in battles with the Equal Opportunity Ruleset or the Melee Mayhem Ruleset, and I think these types of battles are the ones where Desert Dragon is most efficient. And I've upgraded my Desert Dragon card to level 2 as I think it will be much more effective in such battles especially when it has the Piercing Ability. And indeed, With the Piercing Ability, it can both be more effective in battles and attack targets much more ruthlessly. Since it has low health, I usually use it on the backline and take care that it is not the first target of enemies. Desert Dragon can help me a lot in winning many battles and I think it's a card that any team could need.

The Desert Dragon is most commonly found east of the Jade Thickett, on the sandy plains of the Ixzoc. Its long neck is banded red and black, with savage horns that sprout from its head and vicious fangs more wicked than scimitars that line its jaws. Quite often assumed as a lumbering, flightless giant with wings that are tattered and torn, many make the mistake that it cannot move quickly and will sometimes stray too close. But any that have seen it hunt the plain grazers will know, not only can the beast move with considerable speed, the terrifying charge will often leave its target rooted to the spot with terror, unable to flee its impending doom. Desert Dragon has the Trample Ability at level 1, the Piercing Ability at level 2, the Retaliate Ability at level 3, and the Giant Killer Ability at level 4. These abilities are really very powerful abilities and abilities that can be very effective in certain battles.

• Trample Ability : When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target with a Melee attack, it will perform another Melee attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team.
• Piercing Ability : If Melee or Ranged attack damage is in excess of the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health.
• Retaliate Ability : When hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate have a chance of attacking their attacker.
• Giant Killer Ability : Does double damage against targets that cost 10 or more mana.

Desert Dragon is a Legendary Card in the Dragon Unit that belongs to the Chaos Legion edition. Currently my Desert Dragon NFT card is level 2 and I would love to upgrade it to level 4 in the future. Because Retaliate Ability and Giant Killer Ability are very useful for me in some battles, so I aim to upgrade this card to level 4 as soon as possible. As I level up my Desert Dragon card, I think it will be much more effective and useful in battles. The Desert Dragon card costs 7 mana.

MY STRATEGY

Since the battle has the Equal Opportunity Ruleset, I knew Desert Dragon would be very effective in this battle, so I chose Dragon Summoner Quix the Devious. And I preferred Melee Attack Monsters, which can be the most effective based on the mana cost that can attack targets powerfully. Since all monsters in this battle will have the Opportunity Ability, I have adjusted the line up of the monsters in the team according to their health. Especially in this battle, I thought Desert Dragon and Coastal Sentry would be very effective, so I added them to the team and put them in the backline and put a Monster with Martyr Ability next to them. And I've added River Hellondale, who has the Inspire Ability, to my team so that Melee Attack Monsters can attack targets more powerfully. I also thought that River Hellondale's Resurrect Ability would also give my team an advantage in this battle. Also, if I had a Monster card with low health and the Thorns ability in a battle like this, I would add it to my team as well, but unfortunately I didn't have it.

LINE UP

I chose Quix the Devious as the Summoner to use the Desert Dragon card in this battle. Quix the Devious is a Dragon Summoner that reduces the Ranged Attack of all enemy Ranged Attack Monsters by -1 and the speed of all enemy monsters by -1. By the way, my Quix the Devious card is at level 2.

Xenith Monk has the Heal Ability from level 2 and attacks the target with a *Melee Attack. I put Xenith Monk in first position.

• Heal Ability : Restores a portion of the Monster's health each round.

Isgald Vorst has the Bloodlust Ability and the Opportunity Ability from level 1 and attacks the target with Melee Attacks. I put Isgald Vorst in second position.

• Bloodlust Ability : This Monster revels in the glory of combat and becomes more dangerous as the battle goes on. Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats.
• Opportunity Ability : Monsters with the Opportunity ability may attack from any position and will target the enemy Monster with the lowest health.

Desert Dragon has the Trample Ability and the Piercing Ability at level 2 and attacks the target with Melee Attacks. I put Desert Dragon in third position.

• Trample Ability : When a Monster with Trample hits and kills its target with a Melee attack, it will perform another Melee attack on the next Monster on the enemy Team.

Venari Marksrat has the Martyr Ability from level 1 and attacks the target with a Ranged Attack. I put Venari Marksrat in fourth position. I predicted that Venari Marksrat would be one of the first monsters destroyed, and my goal was to increase the all stats of adjacent monsters when it died.

• Martyr Ability : When this Monster dies, adjacent Monsters get +1 to all stats.

Coastal Sentry has the Double Strike Ability from level 1 and attacks the target with Melee Attacks. I put Coastal Sentry in fifth position.

• Double Strike Ability : Monster attacks twice each round.

River Hellondale has the Resurrect Ability and the Inspire Ability at level 2 and attacks the target with Magic Attacks. I put River Hellondale in last position.

• Resurrect Ability : When a friendly Monster dies it is brought back to life with 1 Health. This ability can only trigger once per battle.
• Inspire Ability : Gives all friendly Monsters +1 Melee attack.

To be honest, I didn't expect the opposing player to use Sneak Monsters in this battle, it would have ruined my whole strategy. If I could have predicted that there would be Sneak Monsters on the opposing team, I wouldn't have used the River Hellondale card in this battle because he would have been the first to be destroyed anyway.

Sneak Ability : Targets the last Monster on the enemy Team instead of the first Monster.

In the first round, what I feared happened, and River Hellondale was the first to be destroyed by the opponent. Frankly, this hasn't been good for my strategy and it's been frustrating for me. I can say that the right move of the opposing player broke my strategy a bit. In the first round, the opponent was more effective and two monsters from my team were destroyed while one monster from the opposing team was destroyed.

In the second round, the opposing team's attacks were more effective and I was starting to think that I was really losing this battle. Towards the end of the second round, Desert Dragon's attacks were admirable. Its attacks gave the team great morale.

Likewise, in the third round, Desert Dragon attacked very effectively and ruthlessly, and I can say that Desert Dragon changed the course of the battle with its attacks in the second and third rounds. That's why Desert Dragon is one of my favorite cards in this type of battle.

In the fourth round, Desert Dragon also destroyed Isgald Vorst.

In the fifth round, only Baakjira was alive on the opposing team, as Baakjira had the Heal Ability, it wouldn't be easy to destroy it, but it didn't have much of a chance against Desert Dragon attacks and it would be destroyed eventually too.

The battle lasted 8 rounds. The battle was really tough and competitive because the opposing player's strategy was also very good but my strategy worked much better and in particular, Desert Dragon was incredibly excellent in this battle. And my team managed to win a pretty tough battle. I recommend you to watch this great and quite challenging battle from the Battle Link and you can see how effective Desert Dragon is in certain battles.

Desert Dragon can be effective in many battles, but I think it is very effective in battles with Equal Opportunity Ruleset and Melee Mayhem Ruleset, as in the above battle. And I think it will be much more effective when it has the Retaliate Ability and the Giant Killer Ability, so I plan to level up my card as soon as possible. Honestly, if I had a level 4 Quix the Devious card, I would have upgraded my Desert Dragon card to level 4 today without hesitation. But I think its price is reasonable for me so I plan to upgrade it to level 4 soon.
