When Luck Takes a Break: My End-of-Season Chest Opening Adventure
![]()
Hello fellow Splinterlands warriors!
Welcome to my chill little write-up today—a small story about the end of the season, the latest updates, and of course… the heart-pounding moment we all wait for: opening reward chests.
A new season just started, and I was immediately greeted with a refreshed look. There’s a new view, ruleset updates, and some small details that make the game feel more alive. It’s like coming home to a house that’s been renovated—still the same place, but much nicer to look at. The latest rulesets also make some battles feel tougher, forcing me to think harder, especially when my monster lineup suddenly needs to be completely different.
Behind all of that, the grind to collect Glint stays as exciting as ever.
This season, I managed to gather around 20k Glint, and with the leftovers from last season, the total reached 50k Glint. With that amount, I decided to focus on opening major chests, because in my opinion, they give the most “fair” gacha chance—not too expensive, not too random, and still offering sweet possibilities for epic or legendary cards.

“Well, whatever—let’s just go for it!” I thought at the time.
With those 50k Glint, I ended up with 20 major chests. And then came the moment of truth…
Honestly, I had already prepared myself mentally for mediocre results. But still, those few seconds before opening the chests made my hands sweat a little.
And yup… this time luck wasn’t really on my side.

The highest rarity I got was rare. No epics, no legendaries, although I’m still grateful because I received several new cards to complete my collection. But yeah… there was still that tiny feeling of “Ah, that’s it? Really?”
But that’s Splinterlands—sometimes sweet, sometimes absolute nuclear.
You can check out my chest-opening results here:
I still had some Glint left. And I thought, “Why not try minor chests? Who knows, maybe I’ll hit a jackpot.”

And hilariously, the minor chests actually gave me two rare cards! Not something phenomenal, but definitely something to appreciate. Besides, I did get a legendary card from a major chest in a previous season—so maybe the remnants of my luck are still floating around somewhere.
After that, I continued battling as usual. I pushed a bit harder and finally climbed to Bronze I. The reward? More chests.

Inside those chests, I received:
- 2 new cards from the Water element
- 1 new card from the Life element
And… all of them were rare again. Today really felt like a special day for rare cards. Almost as if the system was telling me, “Here, this is the collection we’re completing today.”
But I’m happy. New cards are still new cards, and honestly, some rare cards are used more often in certain metas than epics.
Watching today’s results, I realized one important thing:
The more complete your card collection is, the easier it is for new players to grow.
Many rulesets really require a varied deck. Without a diverse collection, new players often get stuck using the same formations over and over, making them predictable. With the new visuals and updated rulesets, it feels even more clear that Splinterlands truly encourages players to experiment.
At the very least, with all the rare cards I got today, my flexibility in weird rulesets will definitely improve.
🔹 Closing Thoughts & Quick Tips
That’s my experience opening end-of-season chests—from the somewhat disappointing major chests, the surprisingly decent minor ones, and the bonus Bronze I chests that closed the day with a small smile.
For my fellow Splinterlands players, here are my suggestions:
👉 Don’t put all your hopes into a single chest opening. Enjoy the process.
Sometimes your lucky card comes at the most unexpected moment.
👉 Always save some Glint if you need to push in the next season.
👉 Build your collection slowly—rare cards matter a lot, especially with the new rulesets.
Stay strong in this roller-coaster world of crypto.
See you in the next Splinterlands story!
Keep grinding, keep fighting, and may the next season shine even brighter ✨
