Time to Raise the Sword: My Story Opening a Gladius Pack in Splinterlands
Hey there, fellow Archons of Splinterlands!
This time, I want to share one of the most exciting moments of the season — yep, you guessed it — opening a Gladius Pack after a brawl! If you’ve been playing Splinterlands for a while, you already know how important Gladiator cards are. You can’t buy them on the regular market, you can’t sell them, and they’re only usable in guild brawls or special rulesets. And that’s exactly what makes them feel so special.
At the start of the season, I was ready for battle. I joined the usual brawls with my guild — which can get really intense, since you have to pick your fray wisely and plan the best strategy. It's not just about countering your opponents, but also making sure each guildmate is in the right spot and hoping everyone delivers. After several brawls, I managed to gather 7000 Merits, enough to open 3 Gladius Packs.
I opened all three at once. That rush of excitement... it reminded me of ripping open booster packs as a kid. And the results? Pretty awesome!
I got a total of 15 cards. The highlight? One Epic card jumped out immediately: Marisol Contuma. She’s got insane potential — that Bloodlust ability can turn her into a killing machine if she’s placed in the right position. I was thrilled to add her to my collection!
On top of that, I pulled 4 Rare cards: two copies of Cutter Brieze, one Ajax Lightfoot, and one Palidon Rakk. The rest were commons, but don’t sleep on those — commons are essential for leveling up your collection, especially if you’ve already got a few copies. So yeah, still happy with the haul!

What I love most about opening Gladius Packs isn’t just the cards themselves, but the fact that it’s a reward for participating in your guild. In Splinterlands, being part of a guild really pays off. You get to join brawls, earn Merits, open Gladius Packs, and grow stronger with exclusive cards you can’t find anywhere else.
And here’s something interesting: Gladius cards can win you battles not just because of their stats, but thanks to their Bloodlust ability, which boosts them each time they take down an enemy. So if you can build a team that helps your Gladiator land the first kill, that can be a game-changer in brawls.
For new players out there — trust me, joining a guild is a huge step forward. You’ll grow faster, learn from experienced players, and start earning Merits to get your own Gladius Packs.
Keep joining brawls and don’t underestimate common cards. Every card matters, and every pack you open is an investment in your team’s future strength. And most importantly, enjoy the process — because Splinterlands is all about strategy, patience, and of course… fun.
