Moonkarts x Splinterlands : More Racers, More Fun!
Hey everyone! How’s your week going? With HIVE prices on the rise, it’s an exciting time for players and traders alike. And here I am, back with another Moonkarts post to greet you all!
Due to my busy schedule playing Splinterlands, I haven’t been checking in on Moonkarts as often. However, my last session in Moonkarts gave me a fresh experience. A few months ago, I was only racing against a single opponent, but this time, in multiplayer mode, I raced against two others—making it a three-player match. This shows that more people are starting to play Moonkarts.
That said, Moonkarts still needs more players to make the experience even more exciting. In my opinion, the most popular game on Hive is Splinterlands. Since I’m also a Splinterlands player, I believe that if these two games collaborated, it could bring more Splinterlands players into Moonkarts. After all, both games are under the ArcadeColony umbrella.
Collaborations in gaming have proven to be mutually beneficial, often leading to an increase in player numbers for one or both games. There are several examples of successful collaborations that we can look at for comparison:
PUBG Mobile x Evangelion & Other Anime
PUBG Mobile has frequently collaborated with anime franchises like Evangelion, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Dragon Ball. During these collaborations, PUBG Mobile saw a surge in players, especially anime fans curious to try out new modes, characters, or exclusive items inspired by the anime.
Interestingly, this also worked in reverse—some PUBG Mobile players became interested in watching anime they hadn’t seen before, creating a cross-interest effect.
Monster Hunter x Final Fantasy XIV
This is an example of a successful cross-game collaboration. Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) introduced the Monster Hunter creature Rathalos, complete with its signature battle mechanics. Meanwhile, Monster Hunter featured elements from FFXIV.
Many Monster Hunter players were intrigued by the event and decided to try out FFXIV, especially since the game was experiencing rapid growth at the time. Community reports even mentioned FFXIV servers becoming crowded with new players during the event.
Now, imagine if Moonkarts could collaborate with Splinterlands. For example, instead of collecting Colonies on Moonkarts tracks, racers could earn Splinterlands packs or even Splinterlands NFT cards, even if they were soulbound. This would attract Splinterlands players, especially beginners still hunting for packs and expanding their card collections, to try out Moonkarts.
Of course, a collaboration like this could also happen between Splinterlands and Soulkeep. But so far, the collaboration between the two still feels separate. If there were a Splinterlands promo card that could be used in Soulkeep, Splinterlands players might be encouraged to use their cards and fully engage with Soulkeep.
There are several potential collaboration models that could work if Moonkarts and Splinterlands joined forces, such as In-Game Item Rewards, Crossover Skins/Characters, and Joint Tournaments or Events. I might explore these ideas further in my next post.
Overall, this is an idea worth considering. A well-targeted collaboration that connects two communities with overlapping or complementary interests has a high chance of increasing engagement for both games. Usually, such collaborations are supported by exclusive content, limited-time events, or unique items that entice players to try something new.
And going back to the original point—Moonkarts still needs more players. What do you think? Do you have any additional suggestions?
Stay tuned for more stories, and happy gaming! Cheers! 😊
