Climbing the Ranks: My Splinterlands Season Journey Before Conclave Arcana Era
Hello Splinterlands Summoners!
Welcome back to another article for the weekly Splinterlands social media challenge. So, in the middle of all the hype building up to the release of the new Conclave set, I wanted to share a little update on my progress this season. Nothing too serious—just a chill recap from someone who's been tinkering with decks and keeping an eye on SPS prices, all while trying to climb the ranked ladder.
I started this season at Gold III—yep, the usual post-reset struggle. But with a somewhat consistent strategy and a few new cards added to the mix, I’ve now made it to Diamond I. It wasn’t an easy climb, but it was definitely a fun one! Every league upgrade feels like a power boost that keeps me grinding, not to mention the extra chests. Speaking of chests... I had some pretty interesting pulls.
On my first chest opening, I got two common cards: Ujurak Elder and Halaran Huntress. Nothing fancy, but I was still happy—new cards are always welcome, and the merit rewards were decent too. That kind of set the tone for a rewarding start to the season.
Then, when I reached Gold I, the chests started getting juicier. Rare cards like Thunderhoof Nomad and Commander Slade showed up, along with commons like Drybone Hobgoblin, Luceheim Demon, and Broken Earth Thug. What really made me smile was seeing fewer potions and more merits. Personally, I’ll take merits over potions any day—I’ve been aiming for Gladius Packs from brawl rewards.
Now, when I hit Diamond III, that’s when things got really exciting. I pulled an epic card: Thanalorian Blade. That was definitely one of the highlights of the week. I also got Chaos Adjutant, and once again, Ujurak Elder and Nimbledook Explorer made an appearance. On the flip side, the battle energy drops in those chests felt kinda meh—I would’ve preferred more merits or cards instead.
Speaking of merits, I managed to open 3 Gladius Packs from recent guild brawls. That felt super satisfying—one epic card and a few rares added to my collection. Not enough to level anything up just yet, but still great for long-term progress.
Lately, I’ve also been farming more SPS and checking in on my land rewards. Interestingly, even though other cryptos dipped a bit, SPS has remained pretty stable—and even went up a little. I’m hoping future features in Splinterlands push SPS prices even higher, especially with the Conclave update right around the corner.
But out of everything, there’s one thing that keeps me loving this game: the community. I’ve learned so much from fellow players—from strategies and card insights to marketplace tips. If you're a new player, don’t hesitate to get involved in the community, check out Hive posts, or join a guild. It seriously helps speed up your progress in this game.
My advice if you’re grinding progress:
Play smart, don’t rush to buy expensive cards, and make the most of your merits and glint. Most importantly, enjoy the game—sometimes the best wins come from the simplest strategies.
That’s it for my story this time. See you in the battle arena, and may your chests be luckier than mine!
