Behind the Chest: Patience, Merits, and the Gladius Hunt

avatar

Hello Splinterlands warriors!

In this early week of March, I want to share my latest progress that I've achieved in the middle of the season. After consistently battling every day, I finally managed to break through to the Modern Diamond III league once again. It feels quite satisfying because the journey to this league was not as easy as it seemed, especially with the increasingly fierce competition.

Climbing up the league always grants Chest promotion rewards, which is the most anticipated moment. With high hopes, I opened those reward chests.

You can see the contents of the chests at this link:

Unfortunately, the results this time weren't as good as my previous league promotion. From all the opened chests, I only received 1 Common card, while the rest were Merits and Potions. Although it was a bit disappointing, I'm still grateful because the amount of merits I obtained was quite a lot, almost 6000 merits.

With that many merits, I decided to exchange some of the Glint I collected to top up and purchase 3 Gladius Packs. Gladius Packs are always an exciting purchase because there is a chance to get legendary cards that can be used in Guild Brawl and Survival mode.

When opening those 3 Gladius Packs, I successfully added 15 Gladius cards to my collection. One of the best cards I got this time was Epic Cutter Brieze. Although I haven't gathered enough cards to upgrade to the next level, I'm still happy because this collection will slowly become very useful in future Survival battles.

Collecting Gladius cards truly requires patience. I realize that every card obtained is part of the process of strengthening a long-term collection. One of the most interesting aspects of Survival mode in Splinterlands is how we must strategize with a limited combination of cards, making every new card addition feel truly valuable.

For new players looking for strategies to grow, I highly recommend actively participating in Guild Brawls and using merits to buy Gladius Packs.

The reflection from this journey is about the importance of consistency and patience in building a card collection. Not every chest opening brings satisfying results, but every small step brings us closer to our goal.

So, if you're just starting out, don't hesitate to join an active guild and keep participating in available events. Who knows, your dream epic or legendary card might be waiting in the next pack!

Happy battling and keep fighting, Splinterlands warriors!
