Hello Everyone! Hope you're all are doing great and welcome to my daily Splinterlands post!

Today I'm gonna be talking about one of the most dangerous and powerful mages in the Splinterlands World, he goes by the name, Doctor Blight.

Introducing Doctor Blight

Doctor Blight belongs to the Neutral splinter and plays as a magic attacker. This card got introduced with the Chaos Legion Edition and it's also a legendary card. This card is used is mainly used low to medium mana cap battles because of it's low mana cost but you can also use it in high mana cap battles as well because of it's incredible abilities which I'm going to be talking about later in this post. It costs 4 mana to be used in battles. This amazing card carries a whopping 5 abilities at it's max level, which I'm going to be talking about next.

Stats and Abilities

At level 1, this card comes with 1 magic attack, 1 speed and 4 health. The main thing about this card is not it's stats, it's about it's abilities. This card comes with 2 abilities at level 1, Affliction and Camouflage.

• Affliction: 50% chance to apply afflicted after a successful attack. Afflicted units cannot be healed.

• Camouflage: Cannot be directly targeted unless in the first position. Does not affect indirect attacks (e.g. Scattershot, Blast splash damage, or Trample) or Wingbreak.

One of the great things about this card is that, at each level this card gains a new ability. However, It's stats does not get a big upgrade. At level 2, this card's stats remains the same but it gains a new ability called, Poison.

• Poison: 50% chance to apply poisoned after a successful attack. Poisoned units lose 2 health at the beginning of each round.

At level 3, it's magic attack damage gets an upgrade. It increases from 1 to 2 magic attack damage. It also gains a new ability called, Scavenger.

• Scavenger: +1 health and max health each time any unit is defeated.

At level 4 (max level), it gains it's final ability called, Weaken.

• Weaken: -1 max health to all enemy units.

With these abilities, this card can easily kill enemy units slowly and painfully. It also cannot be targeted and killed easily because of it's Camouflage and Scavenger abilities.

Lore

To say the faculty at Pelcroft were uncooperative when first presented with Alastair's “evidence” would be an understatement. Shunned for his obsession with obscure folklore and laughed at for his insistence on a forgotten “hidden” continent, staff and friends alike mumbled pejoratives just out of earshot suggesting an unbalanced mind, drawing comparisons to the infirmed at Silverwood Asylum.

But the Yerivin Manuscript could not be ignored. Though indecipherable, the illuminated volume hinted at lands and flora somehow lost, suggesting a rich landscape ever so near but inaccessible to the uninitiated. As his critics grew more vocal he grew ever more determined, reclusive and choleric, buying the artifacts he could and stealing what he could not to fuel his obsessive research; obscure tablets in jade, strange figures carved in hardwoods unknown, and fragments of rotting velum in writing nearly identical the Yerivin volume. But still they would not believe.

Everything changed when the first sightings were made. The seas themselves had suddenly shifted, alien currents with strange fish had interrupted trade routes and samples described in university articles gave at last incontrovertible evidence for Alastair's claims. Though gifted now with funding, celebrity and a clockwork steamer to make the voyage, his sleep became restless, haunted by whispers of fear and greed.

On the sea he grew thin, unable to eat, feeding instead on his growing delusions, disappearing from the shore camp on arrival, returning late that first night wild-eyed, raving of ruins in the jungle and of visions of a flaming caldera where all questions would be answered. The crew muttered. The ship's captain hid the guns and rum.

The next morning he was gone. It was a fortnight before reports reached the shore of great swaths of jungle blackened and dead with tales of a crow beaked shadow bringing death in its wake.

“From the starless void beneath and from before creation lives the dweller in the void. By Silus' will was it given form and through the tearing of the veil were the hands of chaos laid upon the world. Though the Crypteia are the heralds of Chaos, only I am the right hand of doom. By the well of power am I given strength. Through me the shadow of the void is cast and by the will of Uul the word of Silus is given voice. Hear me and tremble. Approach and embrace oblivion.”

Conclusion

In Conclusion, this card is something that every player should have in their arsenal, especially if you're about to battle in a low mana cap match. Even at bronze league, this card is a great addition to the team. Even if we talk about this card from a trading point of view, it goes for a pretty fair amount when you upgrade it to max level. It goes for around 35$ in the market, so keep leveling it up lads!

So next time you’re running a mage team in a low mana match, give Doctor Blight a try. You might be surprised by how much this card can contribute to your win streaks!
