Splinterlands - Is it worth buying the DAR 'GOTTEM' GEARNUT worth 1050 vouchers?

In today's blog, I am going to talk about one of the cards, which is one of the entries in the game. The card's name is DAR 'GOTTEM' GEARNUT. Now, this card looks quite interesting, and I am going to share whether it is a valuable card to purchase or not. I am going to share my personal opinion, but at the end of the day, the decision is yours.

In the screenshot below, you can see how the card looks. Those are the max stats of the card where you have to purchase 11 cards and combine them. After that, you can see that the card will have a melee attack of 3, defense of 4, health of 25, and speed of 3. Apart from that, there are four abilities which we are going to talk about.

So, the first ability is Trample.

Trample is an ability where the card will attack the next opponent after defeating the card in the current position. So, after using a melee attack to defeat a unit, it will perform another melee attack against the unit which comes to the first position.

The second ability is Flank, and this ability will come into play when you place this card in the first position. So, when this card is placed in the first position, you will see that the card in the second position will gain the Reach ability. So, that is quite interesting.

The third is Inspire, and I think this is actually a nice ability because it gives +1 melee power to all the allied units. There is nothing better than getting +1 melee power for all the cards. So, that is what the Inspire ability does, and you don’t have to put this card in the first position to make this ability count.

And lastly, one of my favorite abilities is Void, where 50% less damage is done from magic attacks, or if the magic attack power is 1, you will receive 0 damage. So, that is what this card will do if you buy it.

Now, let’s look at the price of this card. In the screenshot above, you can see that the price of one card is 1050 vouchers. Which means, to buy 11 cards, you are going to pay 10500 vouchers. So, let’s head over to the Tribaldex Swap section and see how much it costs to purchase on 1050 vouchers, and how much it will take to purchase 11 cards in total.

In the screenshot above, you can see that 177.67 HIVE tokens are required to purchase 1050 vouchers. So, that is the cost for one card, and eventually, 11 cards are going to cost you around 1834 HIVE, as you can see in the screenshot below.

I am now going to show the stats you are going to get if you decide to purchase only one card, the following stats will be given in case you buy only one card.

You will get the Trample ability, melee attack of 2, health of 20, speed of 2, and defense of 3. So that is what you are going to get if you decide to go with one card only.

Let me share the second and third upgrades as well. I am not going to share the screenshots, but I am just going to tell you what the upgrades are. If you combine 3 cards, you are going to get the Trample ability, the Flank ability, health of 22, speed of 2, and defense of 3. The melee attack remains the same at 2.

When you combine 6 cards, you are going to get the Trample, Flank, and Inspire abilities. In this case, the speed becomes 3, the health becomes 24, the defense becomes 4, and the melee attack becomes 3 as well.

For 11 cards, you already know the stats, as that was shared at the beginning of this post.

So, do you think spending around 1834 HIVE is actually worth it for a single card? Because that is a lot of money. Even though the price of HIVE tokens is down right now, if you multiply 1834 HIVE by $0.20, it still costs quite a lot. So, I don’t know if it’s a good decision to buy this card because, with that much money, you can easily purchase a lot of other cards as well.
