Splinterlands 🐉| The Journey and Goals of the BattleMage! [EN/PT]

This week's Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge will be themed “Legends in the Making”. The goal is to talk about the #SplinterlandsJourney that the Splinterlands battlemage player has had from its beginnings to its future. So, you'll start by telling us a little about: your beginnings in the game; where you heard about it that led you to discover the game; when you started, what your current collection is. Then, tell us about your strategy to continue progressing in the game, and what you've been doing. Until the time comes to tell what the objectives will be for the future of this “Splintermon” journey (A joke with pokemon journey haha).

The beginning of the BattleMage's Journey!

My first contact with Splinterlands was through some friends who were playing and said it was fun and that the cards are in the player's possession and that by playing you could earn some tokens for each victory. I found the idea of the game interesting and since I like card games I decided to give it a try. Initially I started in bronze, a ranking in which unfortunately I ended up staying for a long time due to lack of information. This was because there wasn't much information available and not as many tools as there are today. It was all trial and error and I couldn't keep testing various possibilities, which is why I stayed in the lower rankings for a long time.

At the time, the collection of the moment was Untamed, with some extremely strong combinations that I remember to this day. The best known - which I ended up not testing because it was very expensive to rent the cards and extremely unfeasible to buy - was the combination of Llama + Kron, in which the healing was so great that it would take an entire team to “try” to defeat this combo, requiring many debuffs to do so.

A combination that I used in Bronze/Silver was with one of the well-known Earth Summoners, Mylor Crowling. This summoner together with Unicorn Mustang formed a combination that could face any enemy team, because Mylor gave Thorns to all allies, allowing him to counter all melee enemies since this ability causes damage when a melee opponent attacks. As for the Unicorn Mustang, because it has a high speed (4), I was able to dodge most of the ranged attacks and, thanks to its Void ability, it countered mages, because it made it take 50% less damage from magic attacks. At the time, it was very common to see these two combinations being used in ranked, and this Mylor and Mustang combo was shared by another player in a post.

Glint Shop: Strategy to Evolve Cards!

My strategy to continue progressing little by little in Splinterlands is to accumulate Glint tokens through ranked matches and evolve my reward cards to the current level that my summoners can use them. The initial goal was to buy Common and Rare Draws to evolve the common and rare cards, one positive point is that it seems that the commons are already at a considerable level. So now the focus is on the rarest cards, starting with the rare ones that still need to go up 1 level on average and then looking for the epic card that is missing, which is the Thanalorian Blade, to have at least one copy of each epic card and have that flexibility in the choice.

Also, when completing the epics you will still be missing the legendary ones, which are more difficult since they are harder to find in chests and their cost in glint is gigantic. Recently, I was lucky enough to open some minor chests and got one of the legendary cards I didn't have, the Blackmoor Jinx, but I'm still missing a lot of legendary cards, such as: Endless Gibbon, Gallicus, Grifzi, Death Ranger, Syrenth and the Chaos Battle Mage. Among these missing cards, the main one I'm looking for is the Chaos Battle Mage, because it's Neutral and I could use it in all elements.

Future goals in Splinterlands

Thinking about the future of the game, I hope everything goes well with this upcoming marketing campaign and that's why I've been staking the little bit of my SPS rewards that I receive from Guild Brawls and also from Ranked rewards, to increase my Glint bonus and consequently be able to open more chests and evolve my cards and get the ones that are still missing.

Another thing I still need to learn is about Lands. I recently discovered on Twitter that there is a Splinterlands prefix title for those who have 5 Lands, which guarantees a 5% bonus in Ranked rewards, that is, more glint as well. However, the problem is that the subject of Lands is complex, requiring a lot of experimentation and experience. As soon as I have time to learn more about this subject, I hope to begin my new journey towards my first land and eventually reach the 5 to receive the title of Warden.

O começo da Jornada do BattleMage!

O meu primeiro contato com o Splinterlands foi através de alguns amigos que estavam jogando e falaram que era divertido e que as cartas ficam na posse do jogador e que ao jogar você poderia ganhar um pouco de tokens por cada vitória. Achei a ideia do jogo interessante e como gosto de jogos de carta resolvi tentar Inicialmente comecei no bronze, ranking no qual infelizmente acabei ficando por muito tempo por falta de informação. Isso porque não havia muita informação disponível e nem tantas ferramentas como se tem hoje era tudo meio na tentativa e erro e eu não tinha como ficar testando várias possibilidades, até por isso que fiquei muito tempo nos rankings mais baixos.

Na época a coleção do momento era a Untamed, com algumas combinações extremamente fortes que eu lembro até hoje. A mais conhecida - que eu acabei não testando porque era muito caro o aluguel das cartas e para comprar extremamente inviável- era a combinação do Lhama + Kron, em que a cura era tão grande que seria necessário um time inteiro para “tentar” derrotar esse combo, sendo necessário muitos debuffs para isso.

Já uma combinação que eu cheguei à utilizar no Bronze / Prata foi com um dos Summoners de Earth, bem conhecidos, o Mylor Crowling. Esse summoner junto do Unicorn Mustang formavam uma combinação que conseguia bater de frente com qualquer time inimigo, porque o Mylor dava Thorns para todos os aliados, fazendo com que counterasse todos os inimigos melees já que essa habilidade causa dano quando um oponente melee ataca. Já o Unicorn Mustang por ter uma velocidade alta (4), consegui desviar de boa parte dos ataques ranged e ainda pela habilidade Void counterava os magos, porque ela fazia com que ele recebesse 50% menos dano de ataques mágicos. Na época era muito comum ver essas duas combinações sendo usadas na ranked e esse combo de Mylor com Mustang foi um outro jogador que compartilhou num post.

Glint Shop: Estratégia para Evoluir as Cartas!

A minha estratégia para continuar progredindo aos poucos no Splinterlands é acumular tokens Glints através das partidas rankeds e evoluir as minhas reward cards até o nível atual que os meus summoners podem utilizá-las. O objetivo inicial foi comprar Common e Rare Draws para evoluir as cartas comuns e raras, um ponto positivo é que parece que as commons já estão em um nível considerável. Por isso, agora o foco são nas cartas de maior raridade, começando com as raras que ainda faltam subir 1 nível na média e depois buscar a carta épica que está faltando, que é a Thanalorian Blade, para ter pelo menos uma cópia de cada carta épica e ter essa flexibilidade na escolha.

Ainda, ao completar as épicas ainda vai ficar faltando as lendárias, que tem uma dificuldade maior já que são mais difíceis de vir nos báus e seu custo em glint é gigantesco. Recentemente, eu tive sorte ao abrir alguns minor chest e consegui uma das lendárias que eu não tinha, o Blackmoor Jinx, mas ainda faltam muitas cartas lendárias, como: Endless Gibbon, Gallicus, Grifzi, Death Ranger, Syrenth e o Chaos Battle Mage. Dentre essas cartas que faltam, a principal que eu busco é o Chaos Battle Mage, porque é Neutral e eu poderia utilizar em todos os elementos.

Objetivos futuros no Splinterlands

Pensando no futuro do jogo, eu espero que dê tudo certo com essa campanha de marketing que está por vir e por isso tenho colocado em stake o pouco das minhas recompensas em SPS que recebo dos Brawls da Guild e também das recompensas das Ranked, para assim aumentar o meu bônus de Glint e consequentemente conseguir abrir mais baús e evoluir as minhas cartas e conseguir as que ainda estão faltando.

Outro ponto que eu ainda preciso aprender é sobre as Lands. Recentemente, descobri explorando o twitter sobre um título prefixo do Splinterlands para quem tem 5 Lands, que garante um bônus de 5% de recompensas na Ranked, ou seja, mais glint também. Entretanto, o problema é que o assunto das Lands é complexo, exigindo muita tentativa e experiência. Assim que eu tiver um tempo para aprender mais afundo sobre esse assunto, espero começar a minha nova jornada rumo à minha primeira land e futuramente alcançar as 5 para receber o título de Warden.
