Splinterlands LAND cards.... More Fun with Math!
So the Splinterlands team are introducing a number of LAND ONLY cards which offer boosts for land production
Details in the this Medium post here
There are only FOUR cards available, this is kind of a test run,
- Common
- Rare
- Epic
- Legendary.
I've copied the table below, and let's compare the benefits and costs of one maxed common card....
Benefits
- 60% grain production bonus on one plot
- 30% grain cost discount
- 50% DEC reduction (25K DEC rebate)
- Labour's luck chance.
Now I think the easiest way to treat this is as if it's like a 90% boost - factor in both the grain boost and the reduced cost of grain because you don't need to be producing that from elsewhere.
NB I may be wrong treating it like this, my intuition tells me so so I'm gonna say this is something like an 80% boost...
The DEC off is really just like a rebate, so take that OFF the cost, see below.
Labours Luck - dice roll, best to ignore and assume you have NO CHANCE of getting this!
Scaled benefits....
Obviously you're going to get more out of a 60% or 80% boost on HIGHER PP cards.
NB I can't afford many of these land cards so I'm only ever going to use them on my best plots...
- If I had 10K PP I'd be gaining 8K PP
- If I had 40K PP (roughly where I'm at) I'd be gaining 35K PP
Costs for what PP's worth of cards...
(A LOT!)
- 60OK DEC to get 4 gold legs = 40K PP on the four other plots
- 240k DEC to 4 maxed epics = 24K PP
Cost of These land cards = all about CINDER
For ONE COMMON CARD WE NEED
- 8M Grain
- 150K Cinder
It's Roughly DOUBLE DEC per CINDER then .75 (1.5)
At current prices 150K CINDER = 300K DEC *0.75 = 225K DEC.... that's for one common max land card.
Oh and 8M GRAIN is gonna cost you 130K DEC
Minus the 25K DEC rebate for Dark Discount.
That's 330K DEC for for ONE MAXED COMMMON LAND CARD - as it says in the cart below, with DEC not at peg it's about $200.
But you don't have to max!!!
NB that's for the maxed commons, you would get more efficiency gains if you had a Level 8 card, in fact a few lower level cards may well be a good call for plots with fewer monsters on!
Final thoughts....
It seems to me that LAND caards would be worth it for plots where you've got MORE THAN 30K PP staked (I think that's WITH BONUSES ALREADY TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT, so on a rare plot with a common totem, you'd only need low 20K PPs staked.
So I wouldn't want too many....
Burn all the cards and keep a few mega plots...?
Seems to be the way this is going?
Some charts....
Common

Rare

Epic

Leg
!
Production costs...

THOUGHTS...
- LEG LEVEL 3 = 300K AURA, 240K IRON = 75% AURA BOOST!
- LEG LEVEL 1 = 50K AURA, 40K IRON = 25% IRON BOOST
- EPIC LEVEL 5 = 280K AURA, 550K STONE, 1.8M GRAIN = 65% STONE BOOST
- RARE MAX = 3.45M WOOD
- COMMON MAX = 8M GRAIN
Most Efficient...
- Common L7
- Rare L6
TOTEM.....
Huge boosts for sure, but prices are insane... I'll have to see how much better will a few bcx of those fare vs the cards I already have
We are seeing that those who have purchased land in this game will be given more benefits because these people have believed in this project a lot and have purchased things by investing more.
SL is giving us more work and SPS price is not helping much.
