Introducing Conclave Arcana

What you read above is the introduction of Conclave Arcana the new NFT Pack Set being released for the Hive Powered Blockchain game known as Splinterlands. The previous/ ongoing set named Chaos Legion has long been out of print (still available on secondary markets such as LeoDex and Hive-Engine). On 04/08/2025 the Splinterlands team made the official announcement and there is tons to be excited about. What's new with this set you ask? Sit back, grab a coffee or your favorite beverage and let your old Pal @rentmoney tell you. There is lots to unpack in the announcement post so lets break it down one by one. Starting with new cards. It's no surprise that a new set will bring new cards but how many? 82 is the answer, 24 Common cards, 29 Rare cards, 14 Epic cards, 15 Legendary cards. An additional nine cards as airdrops during the coming Conflicts: three Legendary unit cards and six player-designed Legendary archon cards! Exclusively, one rare and one legendary promo card for the presale! Conclave Arcana introduces nine brand-new abilities. Today's date is 04/10/2025, there is lots of time to get ready for the presale.

New Abilities

(1) Painforge: +1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally. (2) Reckless: Each successful attack also deals 1 damage to adjacent allied units. (3) Bloodline Tribute: When defeated, all allied units of the same bloodline gain +1 health, speed, and armor and +1 power to each shared attack type. (4) Resurgence: Self-resurrects once per battle with 100% health and armor. All magic debuffs are removed, and all magic buffs are reapplied. Skips turn. Deals 1 physical damage to all units. (5) Shapeshift: Treated as all bloodlines. (6) Final Rest: Allied and enemy abilities that trigger on defeat cannot activate. (7) Reveal: Each round applies Revealed to a Camouflaged enemy unit. Revealed units can be targeted by direct attacks. (8) Relentless Strike: Attacks deal true damage. Phase and Dodge do not reduce chance to hit. (9) Bloodline Dominion: You can summon any unit of the same bloodline as this archon, regardless of element.

Pack Types

Conclave Arcana comes with THREE brand-new pack types. (1) Starter Packs: will cost 1000 DEC ($1.00 USD). Starter Packs contain 5 cards from the Conclave Arcana set: one guaranteed Rare card and four more cards that have an 80% chance to be Common and a 20% chance to be Rare. No gold cards available in Starter Packs. Spellbook purchases will contain five starter packs (packs included with the Spellbook are purchased by the Splinterlands company from the DAO sharing 50% of the revenue from each sale). (2) Standard Packs: these packs are to be traded for 4000 DEC each ($4.00 USD). The odds remain the same as in previous sets. One card from each pack is guaranteed to be Rare or better. Odds of each rarity are as follows: Common: 75.2%, Rare: 20%, Epic: 4%, Legendary: 0.8%, Gold Foil: 2%. (3) Alchemy Packs: Alchemist packs cost 12,000 DEC or $12 in Credits. Their card rarity and Gold Foil distribution is the same as standard packs, except they contain one guaranteed Gold Foil. (4) Legendary Packs: Legendary packs cost 24,000 DEC or $24 in Credits. Their card rarity and Gold Foil distribution is the same as standard packs, except they contain one guaranteed Legendary card.

New Foils

Yes, you read that right we are getting new foils. (1) Black Foil: Black Foils appear randomly in Conclave Arcana packs as max-level cards with collectible numbering. They cannot be combined. (2) Black Foil Arcane and Gold Foil Arcane: Black Foil Arcane and Gold Foil Arcane cards include a special visual flair and collectible numbering. They will always be a max-level card and cannot be combined. Black Foil cards have the following benefits attached to them:

+20% Reward bonus in ranked battles
Half the cooldown of Gold Foil cards in Survival Mode
5x the DEC burn value, Collection Power, and Contribution in Conflicts of Gold Foils
5x base Production Point multiplier (same as Beta cards)

The odds of finding a Black Foil

Standard Packs: 0.025% (1 in 4,000)
Alchemist Packs: 0.25% (1 in 400)
Legendary Packs: 0.125% (1 in 800)
Starter Packs: 0%

One Legendary Promo Card (Gramel the Hunger) for every 400,000 DEC or Credits spent. Each promo card has a 4% chance of being a Gold Foil. Players will also receive one guaranteed Gold Foil of each rarity for every 25 copies earned. Throughout the presale, every DEC or Credit you spend earns points toward the Conclave Arcana Presale Leaderboard. The Top 6 battle mages on the Pre-Sale leaderboard will have the opportunity to specifically influence a card's Name, Character Art, and Lore. The Presale Leaderboard prizes can be seen listed below. Top 250 participants will win a prize. There will also be a raffle that takes place after the presale. Every 1,000 DEC or Credits spent during the presale earns you one Raffle Entry. After the presale ends, all entries will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of 71 random prizes. General Sale of Conclave Arcana Packs will start on May 13th and will have a total supply of 4.5 million standard packs. 900,000 Alchemist packs. 450,000 Legendary packs. If fewer than 15,000 Standard packs, 3,000 Alchemist packs, or 1,500 Legendary packs are sold in a single day 90% of each pack’s remaining inventory will be burned the other 10% will be sent to the sps.dao account for future DAO-controlled use. This means that it would take no more than 300 days for Conclave Arcana Packs to be out of print but still purchasable on secondary markets such as Hive-Engine.
