Splinterland ORB Pack

Now there's a set I bet you haven't gave much thought to recently. We here at the @rentmoney blog hold a couple unopened ORB packs in our collection which prompted us to take a look at the ORB market. We always felt like ORB packs have been undervalued in terms of USD and looking today we still feel the same. For a brief reminder and/or breakdown: ORBS were the very first PROMO set released by the Splinterlands team. The ORB set came out around the same time as the BETA edition (BETA are the second core set in the Splinterlands collection). If my memory is serving me correct information I believe there was a total of 200,000 ORB Packs that were minted. That is 100,000 less than the amount of ALPHA packs minted. 700,000 less than the BETA Pack mint. If we go by the print rate in relation to the current trade value one would assume ORB Packs would be worth 4X+ more than BETA and 1/3rd more than ALPHA. Lets take a look to see if that is the case. Today's date is 05/23/2025 and at current time an ALPHA pack has a trade value of $77 USD (Ask Price) $33 USD (Last Sold For Price). Looking at the BETA market we can see BETA packs have a trade value of $12 USD (Ask Price) $12 USD (Last Sold For Price). Now lets take a look at the ORB pack USD trade value. ORB current trade value is as follows $6.68 USD (Ask Price) $5.88 USD (Last Sold). Disclaimer: USD values taken from Tribaldex/ Hive-Engine.

Orbs have insane value

As you can see ORB packs are the more affordable packs out of the three but yet is by far one of the lowest printed sets. Why is this? The Answer: we here at the Rentmoney blog have no clue as to why. It could be a product of timing. They were the first PROMO set. Their unit whereabouts are nicely and neatly tucked away within the Beta collection area of the Splinterlands marketplaces. Whatever the reason for ORBs USD valuation from a pure print rate standpoint these scream VALUE. The last sold prices shown above: ALPHA Packs ($33 USD) with a print rate of 100,000 more than ORBS/ Compare to the $5.88 USD trade value of an ORB. Using those numbers as the measure an ORB should have resale value of $44 USD. Now lets compare BETA which has a 900,000 print rate to ORBS (200,000 print rate). BETA has a Last Sold For price of $12 USD which is roughly double the value of an ORB Pack while sporting a print rate well over 4X that of ORBS. That 4X valuation weighted against the BETA numbers we just went over gives ORBS a potential value of $50 per pack which isn't far from the valuation given to ORBS using ALPHA numbers. This is insanity at its finest. Now Beta is a great set that might be undervalued itself but from a print rate stand point the better bang for your buck is ORBS. Not to mention that ORB units have a Power Rate that is double what BETA units have. This valuation only considers print rate and not play-ability, collect-ability or any other factors such as markets will market. ALPHA has the honor of being the first set so that nostalgia adds to trade value but still $33 compared to $5.88 is a very big gap when considering the print rate difference between the two sets is just 100,000. Conclusion: Orbs are undervalued.

Corrupted Pegasus

Every once in a Dark Moon, a highly skilled Sorcerer of Mortis may have the opportunity to enlist the soul of a Pegasus. Living Pegasus can only be found in the harsh deserts of Draykh-Nahka, where Dark Eternals are killed on sight. Corrupted Pegasus are mighty in dark magical power, but more importantly, they are one of the only creatures of the Dark who can perform healing spells. The Lord of Darkness rewards his Sorcerers well for making the perilous journey, unless they return without a Pegasus.

Featured ORB Unit

The above LORE has been taken from the official Splinterlands site. Featured above is one of my favorite cards from the ORB collection. Corrupted Pegasus (Legendary Death Unit): this ORB unit can currently be purchased at MAX level for $109 USD with level one units available for $11.50 USD each. The Level one version of Corrupted Pegasus has a health of SIX, an attack of TWO and Speed of TWO. It supports two abilities at level one which are Flying and Reach. After two quick sales there will only be 1 level one Corrupted Pegasus on the market and that has a USD value of $23.00. Markets can change on a dime, more of these UNITS might be placed up at lower or higher amounts but as of today that is what the market shows.
