Card Collection Value Holds Strong In A Sea Of Red
Card Collection Value Holds Strong In A Sea Of Red
What a rough couple of weeks its been for cryptocurrency land. The Hive Token USD value is roughly $0.135 cents. Bitcoin has also dipped to somewhere under $109,000 USD. October 10th was the date that started the sea of red. Bitcoin fell roughly 14.6%. Ethereum, the world's second largest cryptocurrency by market value, fell roughly 21%. Dogecoin dropped more than 50%. Do you know what didn't dip? Rentmoney's Splinterland cards USD value. My collection is mainly composed of BETA and OG Reward cards with some Alpha being the next largest portion so I'm uncertain how the market for new cards held up. I can tell you the market for old cards is steady the course. Their USD value not budging due to the dip. Daily Sales volume of OG cards (Beta/Alpha) are unknown to me. There is a sense of panic in the air for everyone due to Oct. 10th but not for @rentmoney. Personally all I see is opportunity and not enough resources to capture it all. I made some small but meaningful moves when compared to my overall cryptocurrency profile but if I were to have extra fiat, now would be the time I'd invest it. When everyone else is panic selling that's when the risk/reward ratio is in the risk takers favor. Then again I have squandered away rather decent sized profits on two separate occasions (two different industries) by the means of not exiting/ not profit-taking when I should have so maybe you shouldn't be listening to me.
Card USD Volume: $201,045 USD / Purchased Cards Volume: 126,554

Splinterlands Card Trade Volume
Above we see a graph for the Market of Splinterland cards. As the graph details $201,045 USD is the total monthly volume for cards sold on the official Splinterland marketplaces. It took 126,554 total cards purchased to reach that trade value. No matter how you dice it those are two big numbers. Not just that those are two big numbers but its what those two big numbers represents that excite me. What might they represent you ask? To that I say those numbers represent interaction between the Splinterland community members. The card market is very much a community aspect. Players trading cards with other players. To me these numbers represent that Splinterlands has a healthy core base of players willing to interact with not only the game itself but with other Splinterland players trading and selling Splinterland assets. This graph and many others like it can be found by going to https://peakmonsters.com/ > Log in using your Hive profile name > navigate to top of the home-page > hover over and click EXPLORE > click Dashboard Stats > Presto you are in the right section. What Is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is a #play2earn game hosted on the Hive Blockchain. Assets that have real monetary value are used to earn rewards/ more assets in a robust gaming economy. Such assets are tradable on-site or on many different secondary markets such as TribalDex and Hive-Engine. Don't have a Splinterlands account yet. Well you are in luck because I just so happen to have an ambassador code. Clicking it will start the sign up process. What is an ambassadors code? Its a code that will give me credit for your sign up at no cost to you. Here it is: https://splinterlands.com/register?ref=rentmoney Don't want to use my ambassador code (no worries) here is a direct link that will forgo any credit to me: https://splinterlands.com.
What Is The Hive Blockchain?
----------------------> As defined by @rentmoney
It's many things including but not limited to: A source for information. A host spot for many play2earn games. A place to build your own business. A place to run a blog account. A place to interact with your online friends. A place to expand your knowledge. Your imagination is the limit to what the Hive Blockchain has to offer and could be to you. Creating and curating content on the Hive Blockchain will give you the opportunity to earn the Blockchains main currencies known as Hive and HBD (Hive Backed Dollars). No financial advice has been given in this post. Do your own research before investing/ spending any of your hard earned currencies.

Now with the new reward cards I expect number of battles to increase too!
I would have to agree.
Based on the likelihood that people are going to want to test them in battle.
And also win ranked to earn chests or raffle entries!
I was surprised by the number of battles daily. I didn't even hazard a guess 😊 Peakmonsters says my collection is holding its value pretty well and I have some newer cards. However I do have some cards that are permanently soul bound now. That change hit me pretty hard and I didn't pay to have them unbound. I use them to play so I still think it was the right choice but sucks anyway.
I don't mind soulbound cards. I'll be playing Campaign Mode once I get back at it. I want to make sure I have free time to finish it before I start. I'll likely leave what-ever soulbound cards I collect on the way soulbound. Sucks that it messed up your strategy. Who knows one day the mechanics might change again and we will be back to no soul-bound cards being introduced. Thanks for the info about your collection. Looks like SPL cards weren't hit as hard as everything else.

I always keep the cards that I used a lot on my battles before and waiting for their value to skyrocket

63,128 daily average battles make the game very lively
Thanks for sharing! - @clove71

That’s a great observation, It’s impressive how Splinterlands cards are holding their value even when the market is down. Definitely seems like a good time to watch for smart buying opportunities.
