Share Your Battle - Why You Should Diversify Attack Types

The theme for the current "Share Your Battle" challenge is Diemonshark! Being a fan of Water lineups, Diemonshark is one of my favourite tanks to use in high mana battles!

Here's the lore for Diemonshark for your reading interest:

Diemonsharks travel alone throughout the stars searching for prey and territory. They are fearsome beasts with lightning-fast reflexes. Diemonsharks are extremely territorial and attack any creature that encroaches on their land. The Chaos Legion trains them as transports for equipment. Since they can travel by air, ground, or sea, they are ideally suited for the task.

PositionCardNotes
SummonerKelya FrendulMy trusty Water Summoner! Because I am such a fan of Water lineups, I have used a Gold Foil Level 2 Summoner, which gives me opportunity to use some better level cards to help in my fight!
1DiemonsharkDiemonshark benefits greatly from an Equalizer battle because it has a huge amount of mana to go with the increased HP now.
2Djinn OshannusNot the best card for Equalizer fights because it pushes the limit to 10 HP for all cards, including for my opponents. Still for a 44 mana battle, this is not that bad.
3Nerissa TridawnA very decent Epic card that deals a good amount of damage.
4DeeplurkerA Gold Foil version though the difference is negligible because every card's HP is boosted due to Equalizer. Still a very decent card that deals a good amount of damage.
5AxemasterAxemaster benefits greatly from an Equalizer battle too because its survivability receives a big boost from 5 to 10 HP.
6Igor DarkspearLeft with my last 2 mana and Igor Darkspear obviously slots in nicely to complete the lineup.

  • Pre Battle: By the looks of the cards, this should be an easy win against an opponent using a deck of Level 1 cards but Equalizer battle might make things tricky. So let's see!
    image.png
  • Round 1: I quickly noticed that my team was severely weakened by my opponent's negative effects. Djinn Oshannus and Nerissa Tridawn's Magic attacks were reduced due to the opposing Thaddius Brood and Diemonshark and Deeplurker's Melee attacks were reduced due to the opposing Disintegrator. Fortunately, having a diversified lineup paid off in this case as my Ranged cards were unaffected. Even with the reduced damage output, the sheer power of my cards was too much for my opponent as their tank went down in the first round.

  • Round 2: My opponent was still in the running as my Diemonshark got hunted down and it was down to 5 v 5.
    image.png
  • Round 3: The difference in card levels were beginning to show as Djinn Oshannus held on strongly with his high Speed and suddenly it was 5 v 3.
    image.png
  • Round 4: My opponent was running out of attack options as Ranged cards could not deal damage in the first position. Djinn Oshannus held on and it was 5 v 2.
    image.png
  • Round 5: Like clockwork, my Water cards continued to deal damage and we were down to the last card.

  • Round 6: Thankfully no surprises. The stronger team won.

Post Battle

Did my strategy work? I think it did. In this case, it was very important that I had a diversified set of cards to deal damage. I used 2 Melee, 2 Ranged, 2 Magic cards. This helped my team deal effectively with the negative effects from my opponents. The best thing is this strategy works well with Kelya Frendul because its Armor and Speed boost applies to all cards regardless of attack types.

Do I like Diemonshark? For sure. Of course, it is not the "best" tank because there are other tanks that do well in other situations, but on the whole, it is very decent. To share, some of the tanks I like include Serpent of Eld and Sea Monster too.

Final thoughts? Have a try at Water lineups! They have many good cards to suit many different playing styles, i.e. it's not always all Magic.

So that's all I have! What are your takeaways from this battle? Feel free to comment below, as I am always keen to learn and improve!

As always, thanks for reading and have a pleasant day ahead!

That was a good battle, it's very smart of the opponent to use Disintegrator with death, it penalizes two types of damage.

I was reading your comment in a previous post about the proposal and you are very right, I recently started playing and if they approve it I won't invest in the game.

I played one of my first battles with a guy with three gold cards and me with the initials and I won. If that continues like this, and repeats the situation, I won't get any benefit from my ability.

It will be a waste of money and I will have no incentive to play, so I will leave the game as a hobby to exercise my mind from time to time.

without spending something that does not give me any interesting profit, you only earn by spending money, it is a pay to win, no matter the skill.

Yeah thanks for sharing your comment. Like you, I think it's best to see it as a hobby for now because I find that the rules are always changing and most of them just penalise the smaller players. All the best though!
