Auction, Worth the While.......

Splinterlands always amazes me. There are things which are happening still today which does requires passion and belief in the game. There were times when things were out of the league and some of the events would give chills to us all spectators. Now coming to talk about the recent events which literally was one of the most intriguing one to us all. The DAR 'GOTTEM' GEARNUT BLACK FOIL ARCANE AUCTIONS. It was one of one card IN EXISTANCE. Which makes it one of the most expensive cards within the game of recent times.
Lets see how things started and how it actually went, all through the phase of the auction. The rules were simple for this auction. It was one of one card, where the version of this card was Black Foil. Whoever bids the highest, gets to own this version of the card. The bidding started with 4 Auction Mark. For those of you, who is not familiar with this term, its the way for the players to get entry in the auction. Which is, a players gets to bid with these auction mark. Bidding requires Auction Marks, crafted by landowners and sold on the market. When bidding, Auction Marks are placed into escrow and returned if you're outbid. The easiest way to obtain Auction marks are from land production. While those who are bidding they sure have a huge production of these Auction Marks and thus
In order to obtain, One Auction Mark while writing this post costs 2935 DEC or at current market price it is worth $1.84. So basically diving into this auction would really need deep pockets unless you have tons of reserve of these Auction Marks from land productions.

Keeping that in mind, lets talk about how the auction started from the very beginning. While the auction started on 11/1/2025, card. 1 auction. 24 hours. Thus the game begins. It all started with 4 auction marks. Well to be honest, everyone knew this was just the beginning of the storm. As things were going very slow at the beginning and almost five hours later the big gun started showing up. Making the bid rise from 4 to 5, than 23, later 200, while climbing the price to 500 auction marks. Well technically at that price the card already seemed to be pricy. Which is equivalent to the market price of $920. That is insane.
While the auction took a halt for almost 11 hours and no one else was bidding. Just than @yabapmatt comes into the auction and bids 501 auction marks. Just than things started to get furious. Well as you can see Cryptomancer was really hungry to get his hands on this particular card. Which is why price saw a spike of 100 auction marks and it entered the range of 600. Well, there were other folks who were eyeing this card and the charming number of 777 auction marks hit the floor.

Splinterlands always has a history of making things dramatic when it comes to last hour sniping. Which is why probably everyone just waits for the last minute haggling. Well I would not say it haggling because it really gets intense during the last couple of hours or minutes when it comes to getting what you want.
As you may notice in the images below, quite a healthy competition was going on between Vugtis and Cryptomancer. It all started from 1000 Auction marks and slowly it started to rise along the way. Which was quite intense to be honest. As you may notice on the time stamp those were indeed some of the most exciting and intriguing time for both of them I suppose. One going for 1600 Auction marks and the other going for 1666 Auction marks. I mean it was literally one of the most exciting auction which I am noticing.

On the contrary, Cryptomancer finally took the card into his deck. Making him the sole owner of the card, which is available only a piece in the market. This sure marks as one of the most exquisite and exciting auction for Splinterlands. To sum up, the price of the card in terms of market value would come close to $3680. Well we have seen a lot bigger numbers in terms of purchase in the history of Splinterlands. But this was probably the one which was worth being excited for.
I do think things always start to rile up whenever something amazing comes up in the land of Splinterlands. As there are players who are still excited to get their hands on something unique and valuable. No matter what the price is and how valuable it is, the OG's are out there to get their hands on to those particular item. Hopefully we will get to see more of these in the future.
Best regards
