Coffees & NFTs: Starbucks About To Dive Into NFTs
NFTs and businesses are beginning to look like a norm, people are beginning to see NFTs as a form of incentives and as a way to bond or connect with their customers, fans and end users. We have seen lots of notable brands dive into NFTs, some dived into it because they wanted to join the trend and didn’t want to miss out, while some have a laid out strategy on how to properly utilize the NFT.

At this point, I don’t know how people that never trusted NFTs feel right now. Those people that felt that NFTs is a FAD and will fade away in no time, the world keeps proving them wrong. Few days ago the UK government announced its decision on minting its own NFTs. Positive bullish news and hype in the NFT world, Starbucks decided that it will be diving into NFTs soon. This announcement was made by the CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz.
This mean that in almost all the sectors of commerce, NFTs are gradually being adopted. From the fashion industry, to the automobile industry to the food industry and more. Not much details were given about Starbucks and its involvement with NFTs, the only information we know so far is, NFTs will be available before the end of the year. Does this mean that loyal coffee customers will be getting NFTs anytime they buy coffee, will they be a lifetime pass on free coffee when they buy a specific Limited NFT. No one knows what details of these NFTs entails so fingers crossed.
Right now I can’t think of any notable big brand that hasn’t hinted plans on diving into the digital world, or as some of them might call it, the metaverse through NFTs. Some of these brands create an NFT and go silent with the future plans of these NFTs, I think it’s time we stop seeing NFTs as a get rich quick scheme and start seeing them as something worth more valuable than money which is a connection between us and our favorite artist or brand. FOMO has made lots of people jump into NFTs they ended up selling way below the mint price or purchase price.
Ever since Pepsi came up with their brand NFT which was named Pepsi Mic Drop and the trading volume kinda flopped, I have decided not to consider investing in brand NFTs. These brands provide other services aside running an NFT, the wisest thing to do is employ an NFT professional to run the NFT sector of these notable brands. I hope Starbucks do this.
