⚔️ Splinterlands Town Hall Highlights – August 20th, 2025

The latest Town Hall was packed with exciting updates, progress reports, and sneak peeks at what’s coming next in the Splinterlands universe. Here’s a concise summary of the most important announcements and discussions:

🏆 Frontier Mode Success

Frontier Mode has quickly become a community favorite.

In just two weeks, the number of players in Frontier surpassed all other modes combined.

Strong engagement, with many old players returning and new players sticking around.

🌍 Onboarding & Player Growth

New tools are now in place to track acquisition and retention at every step (signups, campaign progression, battles).

Daily signups: 150–200 consistently, with 20–25% retention—much higher than before.

Frontier and Campaign modes are key drivers for new player experience.

💰 Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund (CGRF)

Officially launched to help communities impacted by failed or rug-pulled crypto gaming projects.

Already received positive press and outreach from other gaming projects.

Landing page: splinterlands.com/CGRF.

First supported projects: Tokyo Beast & Walking Dead Empires.

🎶 Splinter Vibes & Community Creativity

Splinterlands music has passed 32,000+ plays on SoundCloud, now also on Spotify.

New music videos created with AI art tools continue to push creative boundaries.

“Community Creatives” program launched to collaborate with community artists like Gold Matters and Brave Tofu.

🎮 Gameplay Updates

Mana caps & rule sets being adjusted for better gameplay variety.

New rule sets are in development.

Weekly Fortune Draws continue, with high-value exclusive foils on the market.

📺 Twitch Drops Incoming

Twitch account integration will now reward viewers with Glint and exclusive cards.

Test runs already successful—full rollout very soon.

Big thanks to community members like Tails for helping drive this initiative.

📈 Marketing & Growth

Small test ad campaigns (FB, X/Twitter) show promising results.

Plans to scale up ad spend soon.

Community funnels are being tracked to measure effectiveness of onboarding campaigns.

🎨 Creative & Art Updates

Introduction of Alfredo, Creative Coordinator, responsible for shaping visual direction.

Sneak peeks at new card art and expanded lore for bloodlines/races.

All Splinterlands card art remains hand-drawn—emphasizing uniqueness and collectible value.

🧑‍🎤 Player Avatars (Major Upcoming Feature)

Players will soon create their own customizable battle mage avatars.

Options include bloodline, outfits, backgrounds, frames, badges, and more.

Avatars will appear in:

Match history

Leaderboards

Pre-battle screens

Unlockables will tie into achievements, Glint shop, SPS/vouchers, and special campaigns.

🏰 Guild Overhaul (Later This Year)

Complete redesign of guilds, including:

New buildings and contribution systems.

Overhauled guild brawls → fresh, innovative format.

Deeper integration with land mechanics.

Designed to make guilds more diverse, rewarding both free-to-play and heavy investors.

🌱 Land, Rewards & Card Utility

Land cards in development → special utility cards for landowners.

Next step: Land 2.0 whitepaper with upgrades, storage, and utility systems.

A new reward set is coming to the Glint shop, potentially non-soulbound.

Discussions on a mini-set proposal that could directly benefit SPS holders.

🔥 Card Burning for New Resource:

Future plans will allow players to burn cards to receive a new resource, which will then be used in Land 2.0 and potentially other systems.

This mechanic is aimed at giving extra utility to older/unused cards and providing new sinks in the economy.

✨ The Bigger Vision

Splinterlands is doubling down on being a community-owned, DAO-driven project.

Community involvement is key—from UX polls to Twitch collabs to creative contributions.

Long-term focus remains clear: bring in new players, keep them engaged, and reward the community.

🚀 Final Thoughts

This Town Hall reinforced that Splinterlands is not just maintaining momentum—it’s expanding in every direction:

Stronger onboarding.

Community-driven initiatives.

Big upcoming features like Avatars, Guild Overhaul, Land 2.0, and Card Burning for Resources.

The future looks brighter than ever, and every SPS holder is part of it.
