Rental Price Slowly Back to Normal, Prepare to Get Back to the Battlefield !
Rental Market and Why it's Important
On Splinterlands, NFT is needed in order to earn. We can play with basic cards but it will give a penalty on the reward calculation. Not only for the reward problem, basic cards are only available on 1st level. Monsters are having stats and ability improvement as they level going up, and summoner gives the level cup for the monsters, so having the basic cards will led us to stuck on the very basic cards with low stats and ability.
While owning NFT might be a problem for some players with little budget or too scared to invest, Rental system are there to solve the problem. With rental system, players that willing to play without owning the NFT can rent the cards that they need from the market for a certain of time. On the other side, this system also give the owner who have the cards to optimize their income by rent them out. There will come the equilibrium of rental price based on the supply, demand, and rewards.
No More Daily Rent and Waiting for New Stable Price
On last week town hall which you can read it on
https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-town-hall-march-20th-2025 , the team has anounce that the daily rent is ended, which makes only the seasonal one is available.
This makes most of my cards are expired and I'm having a difficulties to get new cards because the price on seasonal is very high (due to high demand, but low supply because all the daily were stopped, and it seems the owner are yet put the seasonal on rent market). The price could even pump I ended up suffer lots of matches in brawl, and so in rank battle. I decide to skip few days from playing the rank battle because I only have the soulbound summoners and few reward cards (I also got little collection of chaos legion, but is not significant).
So, if you are new on Splinterlands and find the rental price is like crazy, don't worry, it won't be long until we can get to reasonable price again 😇
The Price is Slowly Getting Back to Normal
I keep checking the market and find some summoner and monsters are getting back to it's normal price.
Here is the summoner price for the diamond tier. I'm glad to have some summoners back again to it's normal price, so I decide to start renting again.
Not only summoners, monsters is slowly getting stable as well. I decide to get some important monsters so I'm able to get back to the game.
I manage to get some win streak today !
I even managed to jump into the diamond league.
Claim some league advancement chest , but no significant prize this time.
Conclussion
Rental feature is very usefull to give chance for players that having low budget to participate on the game for the play to earn mechanism, but with the new updates of no longer daily rent, the card rental price has pump so high into unreasonable price, this is due to the most of card owner are yet publish their new seasonal rent. Some summoner and monster cards are already back to normal, and once all owner put their seasonal rank up for rent, we will have new equilibrium with reasonable price on the market !
