I guess, I play as I love to play, otherwise it looks like playing Splinterlands become counter productive in play2earn scenario.

I buy a competitive deck by spending $3000, played it for 2 years, earning some 100 SPS daily. Now this deck rotated out in 2 years, what exactly happened here.

Initial cost in deck : $3000
Rewards earned in SPS: 730*100 =73000 SPS = $730. (SPS at 1 cent)

Deck market value after 2 years when rotated out = $1000.

Lost money while playing to earn money through play2earn in 2 years= 3000-1000-730= $1270.
