I have so far shared my approach to five (5) Rulesets + One (1) Ability-based ruleset and I have come to introduce you to another. Splinterlands seeks to sharpen skills by allowing players explore various strategies via rulesets. I have tried to study a few cards especially with the newly introduced rulesets, giving one more reasons to know what cards strongly suits them.

Before the start of any battle, each player is shown what ruleset is allowed in battle and it is extremely beneficial to read and strategize accordingly. The ruleset secret I will be sharing you to in this post is the BRIAR PATCH

BRAIR PATCH RULESET implies that ALL monsters receive the Thorns ability at the start of the battle. Enemy monsters that use melee attacks receive damage back.

With this in mind players must consider the following;

•  When hit with a Melee attack, monsters to damage back.^(a)

•  Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.^(b)

•  Melee attack monsters with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from thorns.^(c)

•  This ruleset turns all monsters to an Anti-melee weapon, pay attention to your selections, Big HP and Shield is your way out.^(d)

•  Finally, The Amplify ability increases damage.^(e)

This is a very interesting ruleset because way before the introduction of these rulesets, and of you followed my battles, MYLOR CROWLING was my go to weapon of destruction.

I especially enjoy either the ruleset or the ability and have a battle to demonstrate it's use and a possible lineup that works for mid-high mana battle. Before we charge into the battlefield, I'll introduce you to the monsters and why I picked them.

👉WHY I PICKED PELACOR ARBALEST

I picked PELACOR ARBALEST because of it's double Strike ability which targets ranged, magic or no attack types. Decimating the enemies back row and dealing double the damage is key to my teams victory.

• The Enemy came at me with the Life element, ENEMY SUMMONER - GENERAL SLOAN as Summoner. ENEMY-SHIELDBEARER in first position, ENEMY-CHAOS KNIGHT in second position, ENEMY-TIME MAGE in third position, ENEMY-PORTAL SPINNER in fourth position, ENEMY-PELACOR ARBALEST and finally ENEMY-TRUTHSPEAKER in last position. My enemy came at me with great set of cards, so Let's see what happened.

• My Summoner CHANSEUS THE GREAT grants team monsters the Repair ability , Triage ability and Resurrect ability.

• TIME MAGE then Slowed all enemy monsters affecting their speed point.

• TIME MAGE launches first attack at ENEMY-SHIELDBEARER, damaging enemy's health. She doesn't back down, but goes on to kill enemy front-line and ENEMY-CHAOS KNIGHT after health got weakened by LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR.

• ADELADE BRIGHTWING goes on to strike and kill ENEMY-TIME MAGE. This sets them free from the slow spell casted on them by enemy.

• ENEMY-PELACOR ARBALEST strikes and kills LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR, but ADELADE BRIGHTWING resurrects him with double armor, while DIVINE HEALER boost his health.

• LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR launches a scattershot which hits and kills ENEMY-SCAVO HIRELING.

• PELACOR ARBALEST takes an accurate range, double strikes attack on ENEMY-PORTAL SPINNER and kills her instantly.

• LEGIONNAIRE ALVAR deals a deadly strike at ENEMY-PELACOR ARBALEST and kills him instantly. While ADELADE BRIGHTWING waste no time to target and instantly kill ENEMY-TRUTHSPEAKER

A RECAP OF THE BRIAR PATCH RULESET

In battles that use the Briar Patch ruleset, all monsters receive the Thorns ability at the start of the battle. Enemy monsters that use melee attacks receive damage back, as physical attacks is far more effective than usual.

To succeed in Briar Patch, players should focus on using the Amplify ability which increases damage. However, they should also be aware that their opponents may be doing the same, so it is important to focus on monsters' health points and use abilities that can bypass defenses and repair damaged health and shields as seen in this battle.

Additionally, players should be aware that the Briar Patch ruleset can be countered by abilities such as weaken, Rust or the Wizard of Eastwood's summoner ability, which can reduce max health and remove armor. So, players should also consider including monsters with these abilities in their lineup to gain an advantage.

Overall, Briar Patch can be a challenging, it requires careful strategy to succeed. By focusing on monsters' health points and using abilities such as shown in this battle that bypass armor, you can gain an advantage and emerge victorious in even the toughest battles.

• From this battle and my observation. This ability also played a great role, especially for a mid-high manna cap (30-45) like this which I enjoy.

👉 The TANK HEAL and REPAIR abilities which heals front line monsters and repair the monsters damaged defense, warriors like CHANSEUS THE GREAT, ADELADE BRIGHTWING & DIVINE HEALER offers that. I would recommend this Lineup for a Life Splinter deck💯.
