Battle Mage Secrets_Heavy Hitters

Hello There

As we enter the weekend, I present to you another battle mage secret featuring the Heavy Hitters ruleset. Moving forward, I will be sharing my knowledge of this ruleset and also discuss the strategy that yielded success in the presented battle. Before entering the discussion properly, I would love to do my usual ritual by inviting interested fellows to join the spl game and also participate in this battle mage secrets weekly challenge. For those who may want to participate in this weekly challenge here is the announcement post to get you started in the right way. Do well to go through the post for proper guidance on how things are done.

Heavy Hitters _Ruleset

When the ruleset heavy hitters are brought for a battle, what comes to mind of a player? The answer to this is "stunning strength". Heavy hitters simply mean that all monsters possess the knockout ability and the impact of this lies in the presence of a stun monster on the battlefield. With heavy hitters, monsters have a double impact on a stunned monster. That is to say, a monster with three damage will have a six-damage effect targeting a stunned monster. This makes the inclusion of a stun ability monster important but not necessary. Not necessary because there are other factors to consider when selecting a team and those factors get wider when the battle involves more than one ruleset.

Strategy for this Battle

First, this battle involved more than one ruleset and one of those rulesets limited the use of monsters to only melee attack ones. Considering the fact that only melee attack monsters are permitted for the battle, enhancing their melee damage became a priority. To this effect, although there was no melee-enhancing summoner available, with the help of inspire ability monster on the battlefield, the other melee teammate was able to top up their melee damage.

Again the question of who plays first was put to rest by the swiftness ability which increase the speed of the team. There were also other abilities that were deployed in the battle to make it more difficult for the opponent. Some of these abilities include dodge, opportunity, scavenger, shatter, and heal. Dodge coupled with swiftness made it easier for the opponent monsters to miss their target. The opportunity ability didn't give the weakest monster on the enemy's team a breathing space and the scavenger kept gaining health each time a monster leaves the battlefield. The shatter ability made it easier to remove armor while the healing ability kept the front-row monster longer on the battlefield.

Team Selection

Summoner: LYANNA NATURA
Rarity/Element: Rare/Earth
Stats: +1 Health✔️

This pretty summoner with the +1 health was able to summon the monster I needed for the battle. Facing a battle with a low mana cap, it was important to manage the use of monsters in other to get effective monsters with low mana costs. This summoner gave the room for more monsters due to it low mana cost.

XENITH MONK

Still, on setting up an effective low mana team, Xenith Monk appeared to make a good defender. At the level at which it was used, this monster had 7 health, a healing ability, void, and two melee damage. The ability to heal kept it longer on the battlefield.

BROWNIE

This monster was a game-changer for the team. The inspire and swiftness ability of this monster gave the team an advantage over the enemy's team. When it got to a fight-enabling position, it also engaged in battle with its 2 melee damage.

GOBLIN THIEF

I can't tell why there is a thief to this monster's name but what I can say is that it successfully took away the enemy's armor utilizing the shatter ability. Its high speed and sneak ability contributed to eliminating the opponent's back-line monsters.

SCREECHING VULTURE

VENARI SCOUT

Vulture and Scout are both monsters with opportunity abilities. They focused on the same target which made it easier to eliminate the targeted monster. Another advantage they had was the scavenger &flying ability from Vulture and the dodge ability from Scout. It was easy to miss both monsters if target because of the flying and dodge which was complimented by swiftness.

HILL GIANT

The positioning of Hill Giant at the back even with the knowledge that it can't attack from there was to buy more time for the fighting monsters. Giant at the level it was deployed had 7 health and knowing that only melee is allowed for the battle, there will certainly be monsters that will attack from behind. However, Giant's health was able to delay the attack on the main battling monsters.

That will be all for this week. I hope you enjoyed the read. Please join me next week for another battle mage secrets challenge same place. Leave a comment on how the strategy can be better or any other of your choice.
